I’ve been noticing for a while that the way sex works online doesn’t feel the same as it used to. Not in a dramatic way, just…different.

Porn is everywhere and easy, but after years of it, it starts to feel repetitive. You click around, find something, get off, close the tab. It does the job, but there’s not much left after.

Dating apps are kind of the opposite. Tons of effort, chatting, swiping, waiting and often nothing really comes of it. Sometimes it works, but it feels like you’re investing a lot also mentally just to maybe get a result and hopefully be on the same page on what you want.

Somewhere in between, I keep hearing more about live webcam sex. I’m not saying it’s the answer, but the fact that there’s a real person reacting to you in the moment does change the experience compared to watching a video or sending messages into the void.

I’m curious how others here see it. Do live web cams actually feel different in a meaningful way, or does it end up feeling just as hollow as porn? And for those still using dating apps, has that whole scene gone downhill or do they genuinely work?
 
@jdog68 I've actually noticed that it you find a cam site you like, a lot of the girls actually look forward to you and are genuinely happy when you're there. Obviously 95% of it is because they're getting paid.. but I didn't care about that.

If you don't need intimacy then it's fine I'd say. But I wouldn't expect them to cater to your every need. But if you're respectful they often move easily with money as an incentive.
 
It seems webcams would make having sex more sociable than just viewing porn. There is interaction and response you don't find in videos or images.
 
I’ve tried a couple webcam platforms over time, some felt very credit-milking, others were more upfront. The difference might be between commercial sites like https://onlyfans.com/ and smaller sites like https://www.videochat.nl/ or like you said how performers handle interaction makes more impact than the platform itself. Are others relating to this?
 
Yeah that's true. It's also how you treat people though.

Porn, no emotional investment needed.
Cams, they are human, and will block you if disrespect.
Dating apps, this is the only way to find something lasting.
 
can't imagine paying for those live web cam girls is much more fun than the stuff on porn md. it's just looking at naked chicks doing sex acts and a big part of it for me is the making noise. it's a cerebral thing.

i watch some cam models live reuploads that made it to pornmd, and some of them are fun, and like i like to watch them when i'm super horny cause the pace of them. like kind of them dicking around doing their thing is fun, but really it's pretty crazy to just watch those porn scenes with a girl getting her brains fucked out and making all those sensationalized sounds. (who knows maybe some girls actually enjoy doing all that moaning shit.) i feel like in the live cam stuff there is a lot of interaction with the people sending in the requests. what i've seen anyways. i'm really not into sitting at the computer for that long jacking off. usually my time doing that is about ten minutes unless i'm searching stuff which i don't do very often cause most new stuff is actually probably on pay sites and live chat shit. new stuff barely gets uploaded. i have a huge list of porn links in my favorites, and i scroll at random and click a link for what i want to do every now and then. there are enough different girls that the 100 or so clips from the early 2000's never gets old. i pretty much only need a few moaning and panting sounds to switch between, and that's pretty much enough.

idk. i'm sure those girls doing live cam shit would love your money. can't really hurt to support them. they are already doing it. it's probably better than what i do just watching the old shit and not paying anybody.. i'm kind of a crazy person that thinks i have contributed so much good art and music to the internet that porn should be free for me though. lol porn stars should have good taste and listen to my music and strip for me. lol

Way back in the late 90s I lived in one of the first Internet houses. There were 7 girls who lived there, 75 cams streaming 24/7. We had the option to chat with the subscribers. They paid extra for it. We would be scheduled for 2 hours a day of chat. I can tell you that there were guys who knew our schedules, showed up for every shift and those regulars are who we spent the most time talking with. We were happy to see the familiar names show up. You can really only take so much of show me your tits or pussy. It gets old really quick on that side of the camera. I guess my situation was a little different. She explained that it was extremely inappropriate for me to be on the website in the first place, that she was obligated to report my account for the sake of keeping her job and her freedom, that it was just work to her, that I did not really know her like I thought I knew her, and told me to get off the computer and go meet a girl for real. She went full on "dissapointed mom talk" on me, basically called me an idiot without explicitly saying so and gave me some good advice too.

It worked. I felt really stupid and worried that I had gotten her in trouble. Never pulled anything like that again.
