Hello everyone,

I recently got my hands on some bromazolam 4 mg bars to quit 7oh as i have had one run in with the 7oh withdrawals before which gave me horrible RLS and being opiate naive was my first experience with any form of physical withdrawal. the dose started off at 2 mg day 1, 4 mg days 2+3, 5 mg day 4, then down to 2 mg on day 5, 1 mg day 6, 1 mg day 7, 0.75 mg day 8, and 0.75 mg day 9. Seeing as I've been on them for a little over a week now and was wondering if I should continue to taper or jump? I only used them to combat the RLS from the 7oh withdrawal and now that I'm most likely out of the park there I'm really worried about seizure risk from these things as I've never taken them daily like this in the past. Thanks in advance

Update
Its now been 4 days since my last dose. The insomnia this time around is KILLER and i am attributing that more to the brom than the 7oh as the reason i wasn't sleeping last time was that horrifying rls. I've gotten maybe 1 good nights rest (6 hours) during this whole situation, which I believe was only possible with melatonin and doxylamine. This only worked once and hasn't worked since. Unsure which route is worse (w/benzo or w/o) and if I could do it over again id keep the benzo doses lighter and for a week tops as I have VERY noticeable rebound anxiety which is slowly going away. The risk of seizures is enough for me to be constantly worked up but I know its most likely the w/d talking.

I think if you have only been taking it for a little over a week and sensibly then I wouldn't worry about seizures. I don't know enough about 7oh and I'm glad it's not avalible to me but I am familiar with kratom wd and insomnia is one of the worst symptoms but it's a long list ,diarrhea, flue like symptoms etc
I managed 2 weeks cold turkey from a very long clonazepam addiction without having a seizure

My personal opinion and I know there are lots of people on forum who disagree is that benzos only help with insomnia during kratom wd .
The fact that insomnia could last for a long duration taking benzos will only lead to taking greater amounts due to tolerance, which is the last thing you need

I used bromazolam daily for around 3 months from 2024 going into 2025. Doses ranging from 1mg to 5mg.
I don't think seizures are a big risk here, unless you have a history of them. I had terrible insomnia. It was killer. I had to take time off work during the worst of it because reliably sleeping was just not an option.
I'm not sure if this form of taper is advisable, but its what I did. 1MG per day for a week, .75mg for a week, .50mg for a week, and .25mg for two weeks. I opted for a fairly rapid taper, but gave myself the choice to maintain if I didn't feel right. Still, after jumping from .25MG to nothing, I experienced hellish insomnia and anxiety for 5 days. After about 5 days, it eased up slowly over another week or two. I used a bit under 180mg total during this.

Personally, I couldn't have quit at .75MG but I was using it daily for an extended period.

I had a more recent fling with bromazolam. I took it daily for two weeks, doses between .50 and 1mg, often on the lower end. I tapered down to .25 over the last few days and just toughed it out. I had bad insomnia for 3 days, but I was able to overcome it with amanita and melatonin. I also became VERY sensitive to any kind of stimulant, even kratom. I went into full body jerks, almost like a seizure but just in the body, when I hit a THC cart thinking I was over withdrawal a few days later. (THC reduces gaba signaling, so during gabanergic withdrawal its a bad combo) However, by the next week, I was fine again.

I should mention that I've never found benzos to be recreational so I found it easy to remain comitted to quitting.

For sleep aids, be careful with antihistamines. Doxy and benadryl raise my HR and I become far more sensitive to it during benzo withdrawal. Look into valerian and maybe amanita. Valerian works well for me, but has a very narrow window to actually fall asleep. Amanita worked more reliably for me, but I don't know if its really a good idea to take during gabanergic withdrawal.

How did you find the amanitas?

Mushroom or decarbed tincture?
Purchased online from an amanita vendor.
They sold both raw mushroom product and tincture. I used tincture at the time.

Avoid the scammy smoke shop stuff.

The reason I say I am unsure if its wise to take while getting off benzos is that its also gabanergic and it may lengthen withdrawal. I don't think it did in my case, but I am not sure. It may have similar issues to drinking during benzo withdrawal.

I thought it was meant to help withdrawal.

Jump onto amanita and taper them. I have caps n tinctures. I do think it helps my mood. I'm not using it to trip out. Been there done that on the fresh fuckers.

I find a gram or two definitely boosts my mood. It's an interesting one. Always like to hear about other's experiences.

It's great you've managed to get off them .i stopped clonazepam cold turkey with only kratom and alcohol to cope (alcohol is a bad choice but helps for a very short time ie until you wake at 2 am )I was ok for exactly 5 days when I then slept for almost 7 hours.
After the 5th day it started ,it felt like someone had removed my head and replaced it with something completely alien. I managed to function on a primitive level and did not sleep for the next 10 days (give or take an hour here or there) I had to drink just to face other people and got all the usual wd.i could feel a twitch coming on but was lucky I never had a seizure.
When I returned home after holiday the first thing I did was devour 6 mg of Clonazepam and that has been the only time I can say I've found a benzo to be euphoric
I believe kratom helped

When I was on holiday I did manage to buy gabapentin from pharmacy, If I remember they were 300mg ? I took 3 anyway hoping it would help my legs from jerking but I found it made no difference atol until at night when I drank and it made me feel slightly more sociable

Absolutely I would jump. Even if I take 2-3mg Xanax for a couple weeks if I do a little 2-3 taper like the one you described. I always got like 2 days of rebound anxiety then back to normal

6mg of clonazepam and I would be high for like 2 days lol

This is very relatable. In my many, many opiate detoxes I've found that the things you take to help ("comfort meds") can come back to bite you in the arse. This is especially true when you are just fresh off of withdrawals and your body is super sensitive. The rebound anxiety and insomnia from benzo use has made me think it's not even worth using them. Tricky situation to be in, for sure.

Yeh I slept that night but tolerance dosnt take long to reappear, before I went on holls I took 6 x2mg right before airport ,even having a few pints at bar.
My theory was if I took as much as I could handle then wd would at least wait till after 7 days
Unfortunately not
Obviously I had been abusing them at a ridiculous level ,but absolutely functional, no mistakes or fuck ups at work

Your right.its almost the definition of madness to use one highly addictive drug to withdraw from another
I don't know much about heroin but I think I'm right in saying swapping it for methadone means being dependent on methadone for a very long time

Oh yeah man when I first experienced clonazepam withdrawal I didn’t even know wtf was going on because my last dose was like a week or more prior. That half life is brutal. Awesome benzo though. Classic for a reason

I was warned away from taking any non benzo gabanergics during withdrawal as shorter acting gabanergics can apparently make withdrawal worse and last longer.
However that was not my experience, at least not to any significant degree. Still I felt it was worth mentioning.
