What recreational drugs can be combined with these medications: abilify, antabuse, lambipol and solian?

My friend from Belgium is on abilify, antabuse, lambipol and solian, what drugs can he safely use recreationally that will work for him?

It is to my understanding that at least one of the medications suppresses psychedelica to the point of not working.

The drugs we would typically be using would be 6-APB, 5-MAPB, O-PCE (he would likely not see the visuals), methamfetamine, MDMA, (base) coke and pyrazolam.

Also, I have 5-MeO-DMT freebase.

Can anybody tell me more?
 
That's a fair bit of polypharmacy.

Stick to fresh air and water.

Stacking things like meth on top of all that sounds like a fucking car crash. Just my opinion though.

What do you mean?

My friend has used amphetamines before and stops the antabuse from time to time to drink alcohol.

He doesn't usually want to use drugs recreationally, as a matter of fact, he refused to take the NEP I'd taken him a few visits to Belgium ago.

I want to know if any combination will likely land him in hospital for medical reasons.

I suspect that by the time I arrive there, he will be adamantly against drugs again, but I would like to know if it's safe.

Some time ago I bought us CBD weed in his Belgian city (CBD weed is legal there). It did work without problems, but it was disappointing.
 
Someone on all of these medications should not take drugs as it will likely bring back the psychosis that 3 of them are treating…

But if you must know:

”Lower-risk”:
Opioids and benzodiazepines(or other GABAergics other than alcohol) the ”safest” bet regarding the persons likely psychotic disorder. Be aware than the antipsychotics might increase sedation and respiratory depression though
(KEEP DOSES LOW-MODERATE)


”Moderate risk”: Cannabis, can be combined safely with practically anything but I put it in moderate because it can excacerbate psychosis/schizofrenia.
Dissociatives, can be used with the meds but has a higher incidence of psychosis, be careful. Its likely that it could have interactions with lamotrigine that also blocks glutamate so dose LOW.


”High-risk”: Stimulants and psychedelics, although the stimulants and psychs will be dulled by the antipsychotics I would absolutely not take them if I was prone to psychosis, the fact that your friend is on 2 schizofrenia/psychosis/bipolar medications and an epilepsy/bipolar med does not bode well if he wants to use hallucinogens or stims.
Do not use these drug classes if your buddy is prone to seizures as well…

Ability is aripiprazole an atypical antipsychotic acting as a partial agonist at serotonin and dopamine receptors.

Antabuse is disulfiram, which inhibits acetaldehyde dehydrogenase.

Lambipol is lamotrigine, an antiepilieptic. which blocks sodium channels in the brain.

Solian is amisulpride which blocks dopamine receptors primarily.

I think stimulants, psychedelics, and empathogens are out, as they would either not work or encourage dangerously high doses to overpower the drug cocktail.

O-PCE is a maybe, but I would personally recommend against it because arylcyclohexylamines can be profoundly psychosis inducing and unpredictable.

Benzodiazepines will work, though I would recommend starting conservatively in case there is potentiation from drugs your friend is on (either through additive sedative effects, or through competitive inhibition of metabolism).

That doesn't leave a lot of fun apart from the fact that anxiolysis might be very useful to my friend.

AFAIK, my friend is not epileptic, but he is supposed to be somewhat bipolar.

I was actually considering offering him coke or meth and in case of meth, just take the precautions of eating and resting well during our session. I've done meth before and I think I can handle it so that we both come through it in an acceptable manner.
 
Your friend is ultimately responsible for his own decisions, as we all know. However, I feel I would be doing your friend a disservice by not mentioning the fact that he is prescribed these medications for what I assume are very real, life-affecting conditions. I don't know what his quality of life is like, if he feels better on these medications, if he hates them... there are a lot of questions. Just know, if he is taking an antipsychotic, just to name one (aripiprazole/abilify) then to add powerful central nervous system stimulants into the mix can easily lead to a cascade of worse and worse consequences. It's not always easy for someone to realize they are planting the seed to a consequence that might not even become apparent for weeks or months.

The best advice I can give: if your friend wants to experiment, they will be much more likely to have a good time without serious complications if they use dosages that are reasonable. They need to be sure to hydrate, eat and sleep also. I would recommend avoiding Alcohol, as Alcohol just takes a disproporionate toll on the body relative to the fun it produces. If you are using stimulants and require something to help you relax, then try to go for something like a Benzodiazepine instead.

I know this may seem like a cop out, but given the risks inherent to poly-pharmacy, the best thing is to practice moderation, be responsible and try to instill this same behavior in your friend. The greater the risks, the more likely your friend is to encounter a dangerous situation like Serotonin Syndrome.

If you are not familiar with Serotonin Syndrome, I would familiarize yourself with it if you and your friend decide to party together. I would tell your friend to stick to psychedelics, Cannabis as they are so much less potentially hazardous to your friend. If you want to add a little bit of MDMA or something in there, that should be fine provided he can stay hydrated and safe. Just keep an eye on him and keep track of him.

He says he'd rather not risk it, but he has said that before about alcohol and amphetamines but he has taken those before while on medication (although not antabuse) I have heard Serotonin Syndrome discussed before, although I don't quite understand yet what it is.

I think he wants some mild experimentation with a none-too-high risk.

If he says he doesn't want it then don't push the issue. You're coming across as wanting him to do the drugs more than he wants to.

Yes, it's true that I'm interested in getting him high.

He changes his mind a lot. I've know him for what must be about a decade.

When I showed him my NEP a few visits back he declined, but this time 'round he asked me what recreational drugs he can take.

I'm not where he lives, I'm in another country and visit him there. If it wasn't too dangerous for him, I would have liked to take some along, so if we wanted to take some, he could.

Any attempts at recreational use will be a disappointment at best but more likely profoundly dysphoric.
Dopamine is the feel good chemical. Anti-psychotics ensure there is no feel good possible.

there's a gd segment of people that get put on invega injections that continue being addicted to meth even though the reward response is softened.
 
afaik for medications like abilify, basically all psychedelics are off the table. uppers work but it's less euphoria,

downers work, probably less euphoria.
