🗣️ General Discussion 🗣️ The Weather Thread

Yeah, there are no open spaces because your country is becoming Englandistan.
Do know what natural resources are?

I will give you a hint , you don't have nearly what we do.

Yeah open land is bad thing? lol

What about all those open spaces that the rich have claimed. Royal and wealthly estates.

Our open spaces are great. We can have overcrowded cities, desserts, tropical climates, Siberia like weather and everything in between. Yeah a small overcrowded country that doesn't have much in way of natural resources, LMAO.

Some people like the outdoors and variety. The UK is tiny overcrowded and basically going nowhere but down.

How much is rent and living costs? Overcrowding is a wonderful thing I guess. I bet lack of natural resources and lack of land is a good thing.lol
That s not overcrowded ! Come to NL and you can see effectively not every but about any centimeter is cultivated. Disneyland like it s becoming.

No rough nature, little abandoned places. Boring as hell that is for sure.

The pics are all of Scotland, not 'Englandistan'

Yeah, open space is great. Sadly, America's open space is largely populated by inbred Germans.

And I think you mean 'deserts', not desserts. Unless you're particularly proud of your ice cream.

Gathered a literal posse to, in their own words, “run me out of town”. Funnily enough this stuck with me as I’d only recently moved in.

Some seriously awkward and unpleasant pub visits too. I ended up just staying in and posting on BL cos they were so insanely unwelcoming to outsiders.

The reason for all this hostility was the local pharmacist told people he dispensed methadone to me and me alone. Was downhill from there… :|

EDIT: not yet been to any of the islands, but definitely on my bucket list!
Sorry to hear that happened to you Mr S!

I bet it wasn't like you could put in an official complaint somewhere in the NHS complaints system, about the pharmacist breaching your confidentiality and privacy, and directly causing you mental distress and potential physical harm as a result, if there was no other pharmacist in town, he'd probably have gone the way of the previous retired pharmacist wouldn't he, just out of spite! Although obviously any such complaint should have been upheld, and some kind of action taken. But I know things tend not to work out as they are supposed to sometimes.

It's things like that that I certainly don't miss about small towns. The narrow and small minded views, and it being difficult to impossible to maintain any privacy or anonymity, with everyone knowing everyone else's business.

Didn't you say some nice things also happened in Wales though? Like the locals trying to shield you from something that had been written about you in the local newspaper, and also a shop assistant helping you out with counting your money when you were a bit confused on a dissociative trip or something, I think you said, a few weeks back?

Sorry Johnny Nowhere but you're wrong again. It was Wales.

I dunno where you get off posting on EADD, acting like you know so much about the UK, compared to those of us that have actually lived here, for like you know, all of our lives?

All you really seem to have is that America is bigger, and has more natural resources.

I wouldn't post on the USA subforum, if there even was one, mocking the country, unless I knew a hell of a lot more about it, and maybe had actually lived there, or at least visited.

Silly me, I forgot that many Americans apparently don't know that Scotland and Wales are not part of England, but actual separate countries.

For Johnny: All 3 nations combined are known as "Britain", and the term "UK" denotes all of the British Isles, including Northern Ireland.

I know it must get confusing.

Yeah, small town (in my case small village) living frankly suuucks!!!

But yeah, there were elements of caring like - as you alluded to - the time locals shielded me from local paper headlines about my psychotic incident.

Also met some wonderful individuals. Was just the “average” local yokel that was pretty vile tbh.

That is so FUCKED UP.
What kind of backwards thinking people live in that place, I would be glad to leave the place & leave them to marry their sisters & act like the nutcases in The Wicker Man.

(Not like visiting Snowdon or some of the Lake District's more popular mountains on a sunny bank holiday, when you just know they are going to be an absolute nightmare for crowds!)
I have heard that several times now, on a show they have on BBC Radio 4 called "Ramblings" hosted by Clare Balding that is one of the shows I LOVE Radio 4 hosting they have had so many people say the same as you about the places.
Well worth rolling a nice Spliff or Blunt, maybe packing a full bowl if you are a Bong person & checking the back catalogue out, this show has been to Skye too before several times.

What you expect when ICE are going around asking "Indian" people (as in Indian people who were forced off the place they lived to go into what is nothing short of internment camps) & most of Amerika support this pile of shit FFS.

As I always say The USA as we know it today is a mere child in terms of history, when you compare the UK in terms of history to The USA it's a joke, it's why people from America are blown away by our castles, their simple minds aren't able to understand simple stuff like this & it makes them behave in stupid ways like this person shows.
