Anyone catch the aurora borealis (Northern Lights) over the last 2 nights?

Ever been to The Isle of Skye?

Nope. But I’ve hardly seen any of Scotland sadly - not even been to Edinburgh yet and that’s literally just up the road 8o

Sadly we are povvos and Sadie works and studies so has next to no free time. Once things are in place, though, we fully intend to travel around Scotland to see some of this beautiful land in person ❤️

Not this time around but we did see the Northern Lights a while back when they were visible. Very faint to the naked eye but stunning in photographs 8o

Doesn't look like you are missing out on much tbh.
The guy in the ski mask who is hardly speaking English & didn't say how old he is shows how bad the UK has become, what a truly fucking mess.

32min 20 seconds in Mr Pre-gab is a perfect example of what a waste The UK has become, he needs a belly full of Pre-gab so I can understand what his saying, that is quite something as usually I cant understand anything people say on them, in his case they are needed for him to speak basic English.

What does Mrs Shambles make of that part of The UK?

I have, and it is truly stunning with it's dramatic, epic landscapes, and spectacular natural beauty.

Once you get past Glasgow and the views start opening up, the whole 3 hour road trip from Glasgow to Skye is also stunning.

It gets more and more so after about halfway between the 2. The Glencoe road, somewhere near where Jimmy Saville had a holiday home is jaw dropping, as is the whole of the last hour just before you get to Skye.

And then Skye itself, even the bridge and the crossing is spectacular, and it has so very many fantastic scenic spots.

If you've not been, and ever get the chance I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

The only thing is the weather. You're highly likely to get stuck in the scotch mist and drizzly low cloud, with visibility down to 50 metres or less, and you'll be very lucky to get clear, bright and sunny weather.

I finally did, on my 3rd attempt!

I for one am not looking forward to this weekend. Negative temps and a foot to a foot and a half of snow. I'm in the US but that sucks wherever you are.
Seen what has hit Texas on BBC news & it doesn't look good.
I can understand places like Arizona, Texas etc being in trouble with snow & cold weather but places like Utah for example look equal to North Norway for Snow & Cold, I have never been there I admit having only been to Florida for 2 weeks as a kid & did a few months at Cape Cod, Boston during the American Summer but what I seen of some parts of the USA they look equal to Siberia or Mongolia.

Isle of Skye is on my bucket-list to visit before I die.
I saw some photos of the place years ago in a Photography magazine in WH Smith & it blew my mind, I was sure they had been messed with in Photoshop but as you said the caption stated it was all natural & taken on film, the landscape......well the whole damn place looked like it was from Lord of The Rings & I expected to see Boudicca the warrior queen of the Iceni to be lurking in the background.

I have wanted to visit that place for so long, it keeps popping up in weird ways in my life since I became aware of it, only this morning on BBC World Service they had a piece about Thatch roofing in Scotland & they were doing an interview with a truck driver who had a load that he was taking to The Isle Of Skye.

You get any photos when you visited the place & if so you care to share?

She loves Edinburgh. Beautiful city. Bit posh, bit expensive, very touristy. But a belter of a city… I mean it’s no Glasgow… ;)
You prefer Wales or Scotland?

MY dream is to get a bit of land with NOBODY around me for 3-5 miles in any direction, build a huge caged off area & breed Doberman Pinchers for a living. The older I get the less I wanna be in a City or even a town, everyone thinks i am mad wanting to live miles away from anyone but to me it's a dream & why anyone would wanna live in a built up area is mental illness.

Yeah I took loads of photos and will happily share some highlights. I'll have to look into how to strip EXIF data first though if I cba.
