My beloved pitbull (now deceased) was named Dixie Chick because of that song. She was confiscated from her abusive owner who went to jail for beating his girlfriend nearly to death. I worked at the city's animal shelter at the time and bonded with the dog instantly. Dixie Chick was an amazing animal and the best friend I ever had. She lived 15 years. See my avatar.
