Bupe Prescribed Butrans patch for pain and buprenorphine for OUD

WOAH. So you are flagged as an addict, but you are getting Fent patches prescribed?? What country are you in?? Are you in hospice??

I've never had luck with Buprenorphine working for pain. I think that Methadone worked ok, but that was a long time ago before I was having chronic pain issues.
Hey rplate81,

when I went through

1)talking to a surgeon (who said I was not a candidate for surgery, and who then referred me to a pain clinic),
2) seeing the pain doc, and then trying the steroid injections in my neck,

at that point the pain doc wanted to give me a Butrans 7.5mcg patch. The insurance company said it was too expensive, and first wanted me to try the Duragesic fent patch. I would have been glad to try, but the doc next did a cheek swab to check which meds wold hit me the hardest in the smallest dose. Methadone it was! And indeed, 15 mg day helped immensely. Later I was forced to ween off the methadone fr no personal reason, just an admin goal of reducing opioid scripts. The doc ( my family doc) said I needed to take 1 less pill each month until I was off the stuff. This would have taken 90 months, but I was freaked out and asuggested we try bupe. She was overjoyed and that's how my current state began.

I am not in hospice, but rather an active middle age guy. So yeah I am marked as an addict, but luckily I love methadone and bupe!

peace,
CfZrx

Oh ok got it. Sorry, my ADHD has me skipping over text sometimes and not taking in all the information fully. Glad that you are young and healthy!!

Hi rplate81!
Would you mind telling us about the bad experience w/ RC?
Thanks,
CfZrx
Oh yeah. This was about 10 years ago when I was into benzos- Xanax, Klonopin, etc. I had a script but was running low. I ordered some pills that were RC's from Europe. They seemed to be fine when I took them which was only about a weeks worth.

As they were leaving my system though, I had a few nights of full on hallucinations. I've had auditory hallucinations before which were scary enough, but this was probably the most terrifying moment in my life.

What I saw was a line of 4 Asian women kinda dancing dressed up in Kimonos I think. The next night, at the foot of my bed, an old Asian man just staring at me. I asked him who he was and I believe that he slowly faded or I put my head under the sheets!! Fully in color semi translucent, but basically as if they were 100% real. I still don't understand why the hallucinations were Asian themed though. I don't see any connection in my life ever for me to be seeing Asian people in particular.

lol, the time I tried clonazolam I hallucinated that I got in a fender bender in a grocery store parking lot!

I was so nervous about it until I got the courage to call the phone number written on a piece of paper in my pocket: turned out it was a dude I had met a year prior!

I recall the first dose, but then slipped into a 5 day blackout! Fuck that! Those mad scientists over in Europe must have got some PCP or something in the clonazolam mix! ;)

YES!! I am almost positive that it was clonazolam, I was going to write that actually.

That happened to you the first dose of the clonaz?? You got them from a local dealer but he got them from EU somewhere??

1) Well, actually I think it was in the week following the first dose that my troubles began. But like AA says, it was the first one that really got me ;)
2) I guess I assumed my guy got them from Europe. not sure exactly.

OK yeah, so a similar situation as mine. My hallucinations never happened when I was actually taking them, I believe it may have been a withdrawal symptom because it was after I had stopped taking them. Also, I think that I had more than a weeks worth of them, probably enough for my body to get dependent on them.

I remembered a funny/crazy story about the clonaz. So, I was at a Methadone clinic at the time, which actually made my situation way worse because I ended up meeting people WAY more into opiates than me waiting in line to get our dose or in group. Anyways, I was hanging out with a lady a bit older than me, and a guy that was really young I'd say 18-20. I remember going over to her house with the pills that I was super excited about and I wanted them to try them too. They both turned me down!! I still am blown away by that because drugs (every and any, not just opis) were a lifestyle to those two and they still didn't want to try them, they were too scared.

So crazy how in the end that happened to me. Maybe with all of their experience and knowledge about drugs they knew to avoid the stuff.

Yeah, people are scared of fent and prob scared of anything not used in regular medicine. I had to accept that benzos are bad for me. They ALWAYS led to me relapsing on booze, my arch nemesis.

Actually, this happened in 2014. I was active in buying pills, then tar H on the streets on a regular basis, but I didn't know anything about Fentanyl other than it's place in medicine. With all the people I met that were way heavy into that stuff more than me, I never heard the word. But then again, my lowest point in which I was buying off the streets and around people like that was fairly short.

I fell back into opioids (which I'd become addicted to as a younger guy) due to terrible neck arthritis. My family doc would only give me MSContin 15mg X3 daily, but it was no where near enough. I searched the streets of small town California for H, but it was elusive.

However, the first time I tried H (before getting ripped off over and over) when I moved to Cali, I overdosed! The smack in Cali can be anywhere from bunk to super-dope, since Mexico is right there!

When I first went to the pain clinic, I was shocked that I was the only one laying on the floor in the waiting room! How the fuck were these pain patients able to bear weight on their joints!?
But I made it out of the street-drug world.

Isn't it nice to not be trapped in that world!!? I tried to be a tar addict, but like I typed, it was just one rip-off after another. I ended up giving up on H when I found a morphine connect. For a year I swore to myself and my lady every night that I was going to quit the next day, but began to lose hope. That's when I was finally sent to pain management, and as soon as I begun 5mg 3X a day methadone, I was saved! Now on bupe and same results.

I'm in California and we had tar, I will admit that I do miss that. I only smoked it, so I guess that I never thought about an OD, but it can happen I'm sure through that ROA.

I was looking at Google reviews on the only place on my medical insurance that is covered. The people were saying how bad the people that went there looked, bad as in look like addicts. I found that ironic I guess because I called the place to talk to the receptionist, the first thing she said was "we don't give out any medications." I didn't even ask her anything about pain meds. I'm curious as to why all the addict looking types if they don't do pain meds, but that was the receptionist talking, not the doctors.

I remember buying REAL OC 80s up until 2014 for $20!!
