I'm in NYC and I'm just concerned I want be able to have Kratom delivered to me for that much longer.

What's the maximum shelflife of Kratom frozen following best use directions?

Can I keep them active for 5 years etc?

I have no first hand knowledge with long-term storage, maybe someone else can chime in who does. However, some people have said on BL that kratom powder can be stored at room temperature for years without loss of effect. But best to seal it up from air and light really well. I bought kraton online that came vacuum sealed. That seems like it would be best.
Are you worried that kratom powder will be banned where you live?

Whatever is chosen I would vacuum seal the hell out of it when done. lol longer "shelf life".
I hear freezing releases more alkaloids (by rupturing the cells and whatnot) but this may be bs idk honestly; don't have the time or patience.

Well, since we’ve had about 23 years of scares, I learned if you just wrap Kratom tight in plastic, and then re-wrapped in plastic I can say the stuff will last at least 23 years. Every once in a while, I’ll pull out some Bali leaf that I have to grind myself from one of the old vendors from years ago, works just as good. Part of me thinks something gets stronger.

NY is only going to screw people who wanna sell cannabis. They are forcing people to go into dispensaries. They are also forcing people to use New Jersey and Massachusetts. I’ve never seen such idiocy I think the Kratom consumer protection act is activated in NY. 7-OH may not be as available as it was, but the leaf will be around and is somewhat protected. Of course, who knows these days. But yeah, the stuff last forever you don’t even need to freeze it.

Also, I noticed in 2025, if something is banned it doesn’t seem to be the same as banned in 1985. You will find loopholes. I’m willing to bet two or three years from now people will still be talking about. 7-OH.

We’re gonna see more and more drugs made from common substances, and I guess someone will create a strong substance, out from chamomile. If you grow your own and make a fresh tea, you can see how potent it is. Oh yeah and then in the next hundred years will probably find about 30 more helpful drugs.

I second what @PtahTek has said in that vacuum sealing is probably your best way of keeping the plant matter safe for long periods of time. Would the freezer help? I´m not totally sure. I know that the freezer exists in our homes because the cold environment is too cold for most dangerous microbes to flourish. If we can keep a steak in the freezer for a year and still eat it, I´m guessing a vacuum-sealed bag of Kratom, put in the freezer, could last decades.

I´m probably going to overcomplicate this, but what the hell. If it were me and I were really looking for the best way of keeping large amounts of Kratom for long periods of time. I would probably just extract the alkaloids from the plant in a relatively crude manner (it´s not as if you´re injecting this stuff) and keep the resulting solution in the freezer. It is actually pretty easy to do this sort of thing. If you´re interested, I can enlighten you a little bit.

That is good to know ,i almost threw out a bunch of unopened kratom as i am now stuck on subs .I might as well save it for when try and come off. What are you using the chamomile for ? I bought an extract a year ago ,I don't remember why " probably anxiety " i must have had a reaction to it as I think i only used it once.

Kratom seems to stay fresh and potent for at least seven years, in a kratom bag, from my experience

What would cause kratom to be "stronger" or possibly from higher concentrations from sitting for years?

It could be placebo. But I have put that question out to some of the smarter people on the forum. It could be all in my head, but it feels like the pain killing qualities get stronger, but the stimulating qualities are tone down a bit. But just the other day I pulled out some stuff from 2009 to check it out and it was just fine wrapped in a couple of different bags.
