Meth Harm reduction . Acetone smell

Hi guys.

Havnt seen this very often .
Normal looking rocks but stink like acetone when broken up. First few puffs smell of acetone too then it goes away. If you leave the bag open it goes away too.

Anyone else experienced this or know why and if it’s safe to continue use

Probably just wet from final acetone wash to clean it up at the end.

Just let it evaporate n you should be fine (apart from smoking meth).

Impossible to say with complete certainty but that's my best guess.

People acetone wash their gear so it seems likely the dealer probably acetone washed it and didn't let it fully dry, and in a bag it isn't gonna evaporate at all or very quickly so would stay in the crystals unless aired out.


Fact OP says it goes away when bag left open pretty much confirms this is the case.
 
Just to clarify, you are referring to smoking crystal meth, not crack cocaine, correct?

No one I have ever known has ever “washed” anything with acetone, nor should they. Where did you learn that?
 
Just what I used to do back when I used to cook meth. Clean up the final product before consumption.

My experience with other people in drug forums is that no one ever admits to not knowing what they’re talking about. When you don’t know you don’t know, it’s ok. You’ve seen people use acetone to wash meth? Why?
 
Washes off some of the impurities post synth to make a nice clean product.

I've never 'seen' anyone else do it. It's just what I used to do. I believe others do the same.

Usually and I’m talking in the vast majority of times this is described, it’s entrapment.

When cutting meth with another compounds of similar properties (such as MSM) people often become impatient when evaporating off the Acetone. Without the proper equipment to pull a vacuume they’ll force dry it in an oven or under lights. This forms a platelet entrapping small quantities of Acetone in the final product.

Remedy: Grind what you have up into a fine powder, then it’s just like getting the diethyl ether smell/taste out of coke. Heat up a plate in the microwave and pour the meth powder out onto the heated plate, foof it around a bit then bag it up warm.

This should deal with that first puff Acetone issue.

As badboy said it washes out some impurities.. You've really never heard of this?
