What are you listening to? Part XXX - Sexxxy tunes for sexxxy folks

Keep expecting to see Miyamoto Musashi or those guys in the cool hats from the movie "Big Trouble in Little China" appear swinging a sword & taking off heads. Ki&Ki play their Shamisen in such an amazing way, this is a fretless instrument too!!!!!!!

This is the first place I found Ki&Ki, I listen to this one song daily.

@Shambles @Perkins : Reborn @ageingpartyfiend
You 3 Cunts have good taste in music, trust Mr Zee-Bee here, I am like the bludclart John Peel of BL when it comes to music, this bangs so hard.

The "Hai" & "Hei" vocal parts always make me smile, they go in on some proper Japanese "guitar shredding" when that short "Hai" vocal is shouted.
These Shamisen are FRETLESS too, their finger positions are 100% perfect, the fact they are fretless just blows my mind they get such a clean tone, that is hours of practise day in & day out for decades.

It's obviously an act, I dunno what else to say.

But where did he get that nose?

Have you read Songs They Never Play on the Radio?
No idea what it is, never heard of it.
About to Google it right now, the issue with being an INTP is when someone you admire & share a taste in music, art etc says about something you never heard of you have to do a deep-dive on the subject right away, an INTP who's given a trail of breadcrumbs like this simply cannot help jumping to Google & spending the next few hours reading all they can.

That track is from a film about Nico, it's been on Film 4 a few times, it's really good.

This cover of the track done by X-TG is so haunting too, it has that Antony Hegarty on vocal, the band is Throbbing Gristle WITHOUT Gen on any of the music, to me the vocal on this track is very haunting, this is a track that gets burned in your mind.
"X-TG was conceived by Chris Carter, Peter 'Sleazy' Christopherson and Cosey Fanni Tutti as a vehicle to fulfil Throbbing Gristle commitments after Genesis P-Orridge abandoned TG at the beginning of their European tour in late 2010."

Chris Carter is on fire here, the way he makes "space" in the music & the beats are so slow it gives such a creepy vibe, words CAN'T do it justice, it's one of those things you not only hear but you FEEL INSIDE if you know what I mean?

Never heard that version. It's really special.
Nico live & she's on fire here, it's clear to me from this how much Jim Morrison made an impression on here, this always makes me think of The Doors in a way, I think it's that "Indian" raga-esque feeling to the music.
The drone of that instrument she is playing drags the music out, her vocal sound like some kinda weird prayer to unknown Gods of old.

I've played this to people who have NO IDEA who Nico is before, 99% of the time when it's finished they have sat there in silence with their jaw open & it's taken them a few moments to get their mind back together & say "What the fuck was that? Who is that woman?"

This is my #1 version if I did a huge line of Ketamine then get into bed in a totally dark room, get flat on the bed & put in earphones & let it wash over me, I have gone to strange places with this song.

Nico famously gave Iggy the clap.

The Jim Morrison thing was weird; they seemed afraid of one another and a proper relationship never happened. Although she'd go on talking about 'Zhim' for the rest of her life.

Never heard that, astonishing. I have a great story about Nico which I don't feel like sharing atm (it's nowt seedy, well not too seedy anyway) I've got so many tales of encounters with well known people/bands etc that I get bored of telling them and being met with raised-eyebrow disbelief. Why anyone would make shit like that up is truly beyond me. But some could sound made-up, granted.

Do people post stuff they are actually listening to right now in this thread? Or is it a showcase for how muso-cool we wanna be perceived? Or to demonstrate what we 'like'? Am having a cynical afternoon as a bit on the physically/emotionally drained side, even after having had a small dose of exquisite quality opium for lunch!

I tend to take the thread title literally and just post whats on the stereo right now. My disclaimer being that whatever that may be is not something I'm claiming to be superior music or in some cases that I eve particularly like it

Got this on atm for example - a nostalgia hit as it was one of the first 'singles' I ever owned and I defo loved it then - it had had a really cool shade of purple on the 'label'?? too (the bit in the middle of the disc)
