Subject: Clarification on Recent Comment

Dear Forum Administrators,

I want to clarify the intent behind my recent remark regarding eugenics. My statement was not a personal attack but a moral critique of the attempt to frame eugenics as an “improvement of genetic quality.” Such language sanitizes what is, historically and ethically, a deeply harmful ideology.

My closing phrase, “fitting name, malevolent,” was meant rhetorically — to highlight the moral inversion of presenting something destructive as benevolent. It was an expression of strong disagreement with the idea itself, not an attempt to demean an individual.

I stand by the ethical position that eugenics, regardless of presentation, remains indefensible. My language, though passionate, was directed at that principle — not at any person.

PS: banned for four days for “insult” that is more accurately described as moral rebuke. When did a person feeling bad about critical evaluation become a reason for sequestering an account.

How was this decision arrived at? Were other
Moderators in PandCandE consulted or did one moderator evaluate the comment and play the role
Of judge and jury while acquiescing to the calls for stricter moderation of the forum by these same insulted individuals. Three words. Five day ban.

PPS I already emailed forum administrators and received no response so I’m posting here.
 
It’s always funny when it’s your enemies catching flak isn’t it electron.

I found it funny that I didn’t get a notification.

But when it’s you guys catching flak the entire site is against your ideology and your little laugh emoji looks exactly like a person throwing a tantrum crying, “everyone’s against me. All of bluelight is a biased leftist cesspool. I had to talk with a communist today who didn’t even believe capitalism was a perfect system. My day is ruined.”

Every single point I’ve ever gotten has been from interacting with you guys, your posts, and your content, because on some level, every time I speak with one of you, somehow you guys get offended.

When someone tells me “fuck you.”, in real life, I don’t get offended. I give them a kind “fuck you” back and move on with my day.

The obsession with rules and consequences for people outside of your groupthink is tired and boring.

I mean, I hate to censor you in this way, but getting points constantly from engaging with your content, your slants and biases, and your blood thirst for reporting violations to moderation; it’s tired and old.

You’re all nice people whom I’ve enjoyed knowing and interacting with but somehow we’ve come to the point where criticizing your ideas has merged in your minds with criticisms of your character and insult to your feelings. Now I believe it is no longer possible for us to interact on any level.

Yeah but you're the only one in that entire thread who is bringing up eugenics, when the only other topics are "welfare" and "reproduction".

There was no association with genes and socioeconomic status, until you started talking about it.
 
That is fallacious and misleading.

There were various scenarios being suggested by users which if put into practice would absolutely be eugenics programs.

You can call a brown sticky thing a stick sure but that doesn’t mean it’s not more accurate to call it shit/eugenics.

Yeah I’ll debate without using personal insults after the seven day ban you didn’t tell me about is over. Then, I can debate, now I can debate.

And all the users I’ve insulted. When has advocating for feeding people , or allowing everyone to have reproductive rights, or rights to due process, upset anyone ? When the persons own position denies those rights.

How was sequestering my account from interaction not a blatant punishment for disagreeing with the rhetorical position of malevolent and others?

Just letting you know that nobody "decided" to give you a seven day ban. Our infraction point system is cumulative and automatic in the software, meaning that each time you receive 1 point, the consequences of accumulated points increase. Points take a year to expire. Since you previously had a 1 day ban from a previous point, another point now triggered a 1 week ban. Any future points within a year that you receive will trigger bans of increasing time periods.

You weren't given a one week ban for a personal attack. You were given 1 point for it, which, when added to your previous points, triggered an automatic escalated ban of 1 week. It's what the software does.

You're correct than we often give soft warnings or DMs to people to discuss rule violations. However, since you already have previous points, you have had ample opportunity to familiarize yourself with the BLUA and sub-forum guidelines because any infraction point or ban message would direct you to those. We usually do soft warnings and DMs for people who don't already have an infraction history. Unfortunately your behaviour has been repeated several times since the summer of this year.

You are an otherwise skilled poster in CEP and I enjoy reading your posts. You engage in lively debate which is very much welcome. If you could refrain from trying to push people's personal buttons and be snarky toward people, and instead just discuss the issues, I think you could be a valuable contributor to the sub.
