Hoovering Schneef
Bluelighter
I've done my best for my boyfriend, and (quite literally) given everything to make him happy. He has continuously comes home in the last 6 months between 4am-9am on Fridays and Saturdays claiming that his job gave him a hotel room (he's a "sous"-chef).
He doesn't work in a hotel, and has constantly told me since 2021 that his new uniforms are being embroidered with "sous chef", despite me never seeing it. I've been paying $1,500/mo for rent, plus electric, internet, and every streaming service (even paying for his cellphone & Xbox Gamepass for the last 9 months). I always make sure he has food when he gets home, massages as needed, and I even wash his work clothes...he always has an excuse about hours' being cut, unexpected expenses, etc to where he can't help out, but I've found empty bourbon bottles, coke bags, even empty bottles of NyQuil that I KNEW were unopened the day before...
I'm starting to feel like I'm being taken advantage of, and I decided to stop responding to his texts yesterday afternoon. He texted me 51 times in 24 hours about everything from "how's your night going", to "I'm worried about you", to "are you coming home tonight?", and finally telling me that he "can't find the cat, and he's been looking everywhere but he just wanted me to know."
I just don't know what to do, or who to talk to, because when he is home, he's usually (literally) crying about how shitty his life is, and how bad he has it... I do understand that he lost his parents at a young age, and that he has some personal issues that he says he's been working on.
Am I wrong for wanting to cut things off with him and just move on? Or should I stick around and set my expectations in stone and hope he hears me? I need some advice.
