How long does it take to hit you so you know when to stop

Well, within a minute. Maybe a little more. I only say that because I've seen people OD and it's not always in the first moments. But the taste and smell should be quite distinct. A slightly acrid overtone like vinegar, slightly bitter taste but the smell should linger.

You know, I can't tell you unless I smelt it. But it would take only a split second to say 'yep, H'. It's not like I use it, but I don't judge those who do.

I would sniff it personally.

It's rocks, so they're easy to crush into powdered bumps & lines. I've never tried smoked rocks like that before. Usually black tar is the one that people tend to smoke on foil, but you don't have black tar. That's just regular old good heroin it looks like.

The effects after snorting start within 1-2 minutes. About 10 minutes to really be feeling it heavy. Please be careful! & don't bother with IVing anything! That was not a good recommendation from the other poster. That's a sure way to get hooked on a needle & you don't even need it. I never shot heroin, only snorted it & it worked wonders for me just fine that way. And good clean heroin isn't very damaging to the nose or sinus cavity at all really. So it's a better option to stick with snorting & smoking.

Yeah it's autumn/going into winter here too in the US. Fibro sucks. I take buprenorphine daily, but there's no real enjoyment or anything from it. Just stops withdrawals & makes me tired as hell. Heroin use to get me stimulated & chatty in a way & then slowly fade into nods. Bupe is similar but not anywhere near as good.

Taking other opioids won't necessarily cancel your kraotm out, but the problem will be that because kratom is very weak & not very potent, your tolerance to opioids will skyrocket by using heroin. So your kratom may become ineffective or even useless after gaining a heroin tolerance. And then your pain will be pretty bad once you're out of heroin & switch back to your kratom.

Buprenorphine is 40x more potent than morphine, but only takes the edge off my heroin withdrawals. But some people on here claim they've gotten off heroin & other opioids with kratom. So you never know.

Most of the heroin I had back in the day had a vague vinegar smell. This is due to the using of acetic anhydrous when heroin is cooked. I've heard black tar smells like BBQ chicken lol

Fentnayl is usually white & odorless. But this doesn't mean some one might not be able to cut actual heroin with fent & make it look like it's all heroin. Although from the looks of it, those look like genuine heroin rocks. You're in for a beautiful time. And like @4DQSAR said, it should last for ages for you! So don't worry about needing to take more & more right away. It's only when people gain a big tolerance that they start to need to dose like every 2-4hrs. But with no tolerance or just a kratom tolerance, you should be itchy, warm & comfortable for at least 4-6hrs, if not longer. Might even need a nap at the end!

Aaah okay, I'm not sure I've ever had freebase heroin before or not. I'm assuming not because I've never smoked heroin before. The picture OP posted though looks almost identical to stuff I'v'e had many times in the past before though. So I assumed he might've gotten just regular old powdered heroin rocks. But if he is in the UK, I wouldn't know for sure what' he's got.

Here in the US we have (or we used to have, I should say) both powder/rock heroin on the East coast & Midwest. And Brown Tar on the west coast. Never been to the west coast & have never used brown tar before. I always got snortable rocks, which I preferred. Some times those rocks were all brown or tan, some times grey even. But some times we'd get brown rocks that also had black speckles on them, very similar to what's in OP's picture.

I do remember one time though, this guy I had to go through after my regular dealer went to prison, hooked me up with some stuff & it smelled like burnt BBQ chicken or something. It looked very similar to all the other heroin out there, but it wasn't working when I snorted it. This was back in like 2019. I confronted the guy about it, but he said it was working for him. And he had been doing heroin for decades longer than I had already. So it makes me wonder if that one time if I actually got freebase or some kind of tar-like heroin & would have needed to smoke it in order to make it work. And since I didn't know that & nobody informed me at the time, I wasted it by snorting it. lol I was so pissed that I snorted all of it & got nothing out of it.

I've had German heroin as well a couple years back. It was alright. Didn't seem as potent as the heroin I use to get. The high felt slightly different than the heroin I use to get here in the US. But it was definitely some sort of opioid because it made me itchy & content. But there was some sort of anxiogenic feeling that some times came with it. I later learned that they cut heroin over in Germany with caffeine & milk powder. So, with how much heroin I needed to feel good, I was probably also snorting copious amounts of caffeine, which is what gave me the weird anxiety-like rushes from it. Especially since I drink copious amounts of caffeine already anyway. I wish people wouldn't cut heroin like that, just leave in the damn rock form. lol Cutting heroin with caffeine powder is an awful idea.

Me & my dealer never use to cut our heroin, but if we had to, we always used lactose powder. It was non-psychoactive, didn't burn the nose & gave the heroin an almost creamy texture/taste. Other times my dealer would cut other people's heroin with benadryl, which I did not like, so I always made him give me mine raw (uncut, rock form only).

I haven't had heroin or come across it ever since though. I'm ignorant when it comes to the dark net. I've had people try & explain it to me multiple times but I just don't get it. Seems like a lot of work too. Not to mention the prices of heroin on the dark net are pretty crazy & I'm a poor bastard, so I can't be wasting no $160 for a single gram of heroin or some shit. A gram of heroin would probably last me a day, if that. lol Especially since I've been on buprenorphine now as well for almost 10 years. But I miss heroin all the time. It's a really good drug for people who deal with a lot of physical AND mental/psychic pain. Heroin doesn't impair me like alcohol or even weed does. And it doesn't give me anxiety or make me emotionally unstable & psychotic like stimulants & other drugs do. It's an incredibly "natural" type of high, that obliterates my depression, fibromylagia pain, anxiety, everything... I literally felt more "normal" and "mentally stable" while on heroin.

Heroin use to give me something to look forward to in life. And now it's almost impossible to get in the US unless you have money or know how to use the dark web. So I've had to almost accept that I'll never get to do my favorite drug ever again probably. Hopefully that's not true, but it's a grim realization. For almost 15 years drugs like tramadol & heroin were abundant in my life & now they're luxuries that I worry I'll never get to even taste again.

@DeathIndustrial88 - Thanks. It just shows how different the scenes can be depending on where you are located. The added complication is that who knows where the vendor is located? I called it as I saw it, you called it as you saw it. We can't realistically do more.

Well, it's always good to understand what's out there. So I appreciate you spending the time to run through the secenes you have encountered. It could be that you ran into freebase that time. But if it's so rare, someone saying 'well it worked for me' doesn't sound quite right. I've been witness to a few disputes and if there is an issue, a vendor will normally ask for details to figure out what could have gone wrong.

FYI that online booklet was published because obviously a n00b will learn how to use off others. So if they are around people who inject, they inject. Smoking the stuff really is an art form. I mean I've seen long term users who leave the foil virtually clean. Just a slight darkening where the beetle ran but no residue. So they get as much out of a bag as someone who injects... but the fact it takes a few minutes means ODs are much less common.

What are these " nitazenes" I have read about? Also how do they compare to fentanyl?

@Jnowhere - it's a class of synthetic opioid originally developed by Ciba in the 1960s. The prototype is (was?) used in animal models of opioid dependence/addiction. The reason being that it has no discerinable taste (at least to rodents) so it avoids the possible bias of the animals using taste to discern it's presence.

The potency and more especially the huge difference in potencies demonstrated by different members of the class adds yet another layer of risk.

There are a few reports on here. A couple positive, most negative. But who knows if the reports are on the same compound.

So best avoided.

Hey guys I need some advice. I bought 1 gram of heroin for the first time in my life and I'm 39. I typically dabble in stimulants but I had the opportunity to get it and I did.

When I opened the package it had a strong chemical smell but seemed organic too. It was very sticky and dark and its dried out a little bit now.

I thought if I sprinkled some onto foil I could smoke it but it just got all hard and wouldn't seem to trail like meth... Isn't that what it normally does? I got really frustrated and said fuck it... Tossed it.

Is there an easier way to smoke it? What am I doing wrong? I just came off a 4 day speed bender maybe it's a bad idea but I'll prob end up trying some at some point... Just not sure how but I'd really love something to help me mellow out. No way will I ever slam it though.

Shoot I didn't even know that H existed anymore in the United States. From my research, its all Fent. unfortunately, like 50% of it has tranq in it and that shit is dangerous / wack. Be safe man. I am jealous. I wish it would go back to just being H in the States or hell even Fent but F this tranq garbage. According to your test strips it looks like two lines. I heard even if its faint its still a detection but I guess it depends on the brand of test strips. Be well my friend and hmu when you can.

Apparently the coke isn't safe here.( fentanyl) I have read stories of people at parties and doing a line of coke and they are dead. Not heard much about it now.

I've read a few cases. I just checked and there were more than I thought.

If one assumes that vendors are purely pragmatic. Their business model would be to buy products in bulk and retail them in small quantities to make a profit. Often they cut the product to increase that profit. But dead customers don't buy any more product and I would assume that US law enforcement would make that vendor a priority.

What I cannot find in most papers is qualatative data of the samples. If a vendor is lazy and doesn't clean the vessels and whatever else they use to cut their products, traces may be present. I noted a 2023 paper where ANPP was noted as an adullterant. ANPP is the final intermediate in fentanyl production. So is that an artifact of poor chemistry or a jolly odd thing to choose as a cut? That paper did assign an arbritary value of an impuritiy being the primary compound or a trace compound. But then they then didn't didn't seperate the two when listing all of the adulterants found in samples.

I'm in no way assering that their aren't idiots out there who might actively seek to add to their user base using the dubious practice of knowingly adding fentanyl, but I always thought fentanyl was cheaper than cocaine i.e. you make more money from powder cocaine users than from fentanyl users.

I noted crack cocaine almost never contained fentanyl. I think it was found in one sample but I don't know if it was the primary compound or a trace adulterant.

it ain't about money anymore. they want to kill us they have more money then they'll ever need. the fent game is cheap for them, even if they lose 90% of their customers there's probably a few regulars who can go through some product that they profit off of. the profit margins are huge. they know the US is lacking on legalizing weed/dabs/home grows recreationally (legal home grows allow some strain stability for chronic users, trust me they'll still be buying new strains from the dispensaries to keep things fresh even if homegrows are allowed), and the cartels take advantage of this. cartels know there's kids who cant get weed easily, can't smoke because of some stupid job, so they keep pushin the powders. and there's so much misinformation on weed and propaganda not helping. government wants to kill the working class with alcohol and cartel drugs. there's some old people in government who've still probably never tried weed. i'm not saying weed is for everyone, but safe medicinal plants shouldnt be stigmatized. it's freaking time already. 21 and older should have access to dispensaries and can flower some plants without stress. drug testing laws for marijuana need to go.

I totally forgot I made this post, I actually opened the browser I made the post on for the first time since then to ask for similar, or even the exact same, advice . I really appreciate all of your kindness, sincerely no bullshitting, I read through the whole thread just now and appreciate the candidness. Before I made this post I was actually reading through other heroin advice threads and the worst thing was when they went completely off radar. I don't know if the heroin is fake but I didn't get much of a buzz, but looked and felt like absolute shit the next day, worse than I usually look anyway. I take a lot of kratom daily which I know is a way to get off smack, it's an opioid and uses the same receptors or whatever. The day after I made this post I blew my nose and a lot of black shit came out. It looked like between snorting and trying to chase the dragon I used half a a gram. I don't know if this is a lot or whatever but felt a lot to feel nothing but hungover. I cracked it open again tonight, I've burnt it on foil and used a foil straw I manufactured to suck up some of that smoke, and again felt nothing tbh. Should I be getting a lot of smoke in my lungs? There's not really a lot of smoke inhaled or exhaled, not sure if I'm doing it wrong?

Well, I've never known a capitalist who EVER considered they has 'more money than they'll ever need'. I worked for a couple and the PROCESS of making money is an addiction for them as far as I can tell. Didn't Escobar have $25 billion? Didn't they find 'stash houses' filled from floor to ceiling with US currency to the point where mice, mould and other damage destroyed hundreds of millions... and they didn't even NOTICE.

I suggest the problem with being at the top of such a vast and such a violent business more or less means retiring isn't really possible. Pablo ended up with so many people who wanted him dead that he needed to be the boss to have any chance of staying alive. I note the DEA is now suggesting that the Jalisco New Generation Cartel are the most focused on production and importation of many drugs including fentanyl destined for export to North America but they are certainly not the only game in town. I'm pretty sure those other cartels would would happily see that cartel brought down so they can step in. Even within the JNGC (who employed a graphic artist to design their logo - nice touch) splinter groups and in-fighting has resulted in a huge body count.

I would also estimate that any Mexican cartel who notes that etonitazene (the prototype and most potent nitazene-class opioid) is also the one that turned up in Russia in the 1990s and which as far as I can tell is not only the most potent achiral example (some x1500 M) but also the one that appeared to be the most accepted. If they STILL produce plain vanilla fentanyl, they don't care if it's on the UNODC list of controlled compounds and would be the logical response to anyone producing carfentanil (etonitazene is apparently the better product although only x1500 M in analgesic activity). That they haven't yet just shows how cheaply they can produce fentanyl.

So I'm unsure as to which 'they' you refer to. Do retailers typically have that much money? Sure, the handful at the top of the pyramid will be stinking rich, but how many hands does fentanyl pass through to get to the streets of North America? I don't know.

You definitely shouldn't need more than 0.1g smoked to feel it but your smoking technique may be what's lacking.
