Screw the international community. Your government's obligations are to it's citizens. Then you've not been believing it it since 1951 when we signed the Refugee Convention, meaning we effectively have to let them land and claim asylum. It isn't a recent thing as such.
To get out of that agreement would be hugely conspicuous and would probably lead to reprimands from the international community. So until then, there's no such thing as bogus asylum seeker until they actually apply for asylum.
It's probably not an ideal arrangement, but we signed it off years ago.
Oh no, the EU will wag it's finger and write a stern letter to that Prime Minister who thinks that drugs and gangs of effeminate whiteboys are the problem, while betraying and stealing from the taxpayers of the UK. ( yes I like run on sentences)Screw the international community. Your government's obligations are to it's citizens.
Oh no, The Uk is under attack by a failed boy band.![]()
Glad we can agree on something..if you haven't blocked me that isThat’s not a boy band, those are Ukrainian rent boys. Keir is a closeted fudge packer. Most of the cabinet are.
The Refugee convention is clearly not fit for purpose in the current day, literally anyone can turn up and claim to be a refugee with no evidence, no ID to even show where they're from. It's absurd that we're meant to put up with this, other countries in the EU do not have this problem despite being far nicer than a Somalian ghetto, so it's not like we're forced to do it because of the HRThen you've not been believing it it since 1951 when we signed the Refugee Convention, meaning we effectively have to let them land and claim asylum. There's the argument that a high minimum wage makes it difficult for the young and unskilled to get jobs. I am recently out of work and the job market in my field is significantly worse than it was 4 years ago , there are far less places willing to take me, with 7 years of experience. How do you think a 16 year old will fare?Farage thinks the minimum wage foy young people is "too high".
Its £7.75 an hour.
:Legal immigration is far more damaging, the *fine folks who happen to be immigrants* are far smaller in number and often they just rip off food delivery companies, rather than forming postcode gangs or rape gangs . For context 3 million people were allowed in under Johnsons reign.Yes . Still think it's a bit odd we have boats coming at all . It should be straight forward to prevent most of it
Maybe the agreement should be adjusted, but we're nowhere near the top destination for asylum seekers. Germany takes about three times as many and France twice as many. The Refugee convention is clearly not fit for purpose in the current day, literally anyone can turn up and claim to be a refugee with no evidence, no ID to even show where they're from. In terms of the number of asylum seekers per 1000 population in 2021 the UK is below the average for Europe. If the number of applications is looked at in relation to each country’s GDP, again the UK is well below the average across Europe. Of the 10 countries in the table above only Germany has a higher nominal GDP than the UK.
I'm not surprised. But the more sensible countries take in next to none. Germany takes about three times as many and France twice as many.
£10 million a day to house these economic migrants. Let’s not called them refugees because, come on. They’re not.The £49 is the icing on the cake, the government is paying an absurd amount to rent out hotels and houses for them
I don't think you could end world hunger for $5 per person \
If you hate the rich so much you should want the flow of "refugees" stopped completely, who do you think is renting out the hotels and buying up property to sell to the government for migrant housing? Baz who works at the local chippy?
I'm not surprised. But the more sensible countries take in next to none
Go on. Name me a single European country with 'next to no' asylum seekers or refugees. Vatican City state, maybe? Or Monaco.I'm not surprised. But the more sensible countries take in next to none
maybe the government should just take the properties to ensure everyone has housing at minimal cost without lining the pockets of rent seeking billionairesThe £49 is the icing on the cake, the government is paying an absurd amount to rent out hotels and houses for them

Can you prove that?£10 million a day to house these economic migrants. Let’s not called them refugees because, come on. They’re not.
£5.7 million since we fucked off the Tories. Who were happy to spend over £8 million for a scheme they devised. Can you prove that?
We can't give any accurate figure before an assessment is conducted by the Home Office. Until then, international law demands that we treat them as genuine asylum seekers / refugees.I mean, LNS implied they immigrated in order to act as parasites and they had no real concerns about getting their basic needs met where they left from. That is quite a heavy accusation and I wonder if it can be proven?
Looks like years more of drug law bullshit. I always knew this cunt Starmer was backwards on drugs since I heard him saying "Every problem in society comes down to drugs".
Speaking to Anne McElvoy, the host of POLITICO’s new Power Play podcast, opposition leader Starmer said: “Other countries will take different approaches they traditionally have, but our approach is settled and not really a subject of great debate even within the Labour Party.”
Only policy Labour have on drugs is naming and shaming anyone caught buying drugs:
in an interview with the Daily Mirror, Mr Reed was said to have highlighted a scheme naming and shaming people convicted of buying drugs during his stint as a councillor and leader of Lambeth Council.
Asked whether the same could happen under a Labour government, Mr Reed said: “We’d absolutely look at it. It’s important you do it with each locality because they understand what their needs are.
“We wanted to send out the signal that, if you think it’s acceptable to come and buy drugs here, and leave behind you the trail of destruction the drugs trade causes on our streets, we will do everything we can to stop you and we will let your friends, family and employers know what you’ve done”.
