Dreaming of a better country yes. Imagine, if you will for a second, that we can't even stop small boats coming. I would never have believed it
Oh me too

yeah there's an immigration issue, no shit.

reform will kill this country - nhs sold off / workers rights down the drain / torture legalised in prisons etc etc etc etc

you gonna let those fuckers sway you on a single issue? fancy 5x longer sentence for a drug conviction?

they are not the answer man, exact same playbook over and over again to hook people into facism - have a gander at history

I think you're brighter than that. if not though, well I've got a bridge to sell you

EDIT - if there was an election tomorrow they'd have a chance of getting into some kinda power in a hung parliament (maybe). Hopefully they'll shoot themselves in the foot well before any election. Give 'em enough rope..........

Then you've not been believing it it since 1951 when we signed the Refugee Convention, meaning we effectively have to let them land and claim asylum. It isn't a recent thing as such.

To get out of that agreement would be hugely conspicuous and would probably lead to reprimands from the international community. So until then, there's no such thing as bogus asylum seeker until they actually apply for asylum.

It's probably not an ideal arrangement, but we signed it off years ago.

They should stay in France.

Regardless of what the refugee convention says...we should physically try and stop the boats. Imagine if were actually impossible to dock the boats. Problem would solved

Above all we gotta stop the boats. Maybe an outward wave machine could help

Why is it a big deal when the tories opened the borders and let a million a year in in 23 and '24? Why not just add those 60,000 on the boats to the other million they let in? At least labour have cut migration by 500,000.

Wealth inequality is whats destroying our living standards - not migrants.

Yes . Still think it's a bit odd we have boats coming at all . It should be straight forward to prevent most of it

Our coastline measures a vast distance due to all the curves and inlets etc. It would be impossible to fortify or monitor our entire coastline. We couldn't do what Trump's done and built a higher wall on their southern border.

There would always be a way in.

Did you actually read my post?

We signed up to this in the fifties. We can't actually 'stop the boats' until we opt out of the Refugee Convention, which would have real consequences for us among the international community.

The fact we've left the EU means fuck all. Nor would a change of government extricate us from a seventy-plus year old agreement.

Nigel would have you believe otherwise, but he depends on his core support being a little bit thick. Or at least poor at checking facts.
