Opioids Does clonidine potentiate morphine?

Im prescribed alot of opioids and clonidine. I don't feel like I'm taking more morphine and hydromorph when I take clonidine.
I quit fentanyl a few weeks ago and clonidine helped with the sweating and helped me feel less anxious and sleepy but nothing felt stronger.

Besides "will Clonidine get me higher", Clonidine threads on BL are inconsequential.

Clonidine is not a party drug. It is a dangerous drug to mix with opioids. Especially if said person is not prescribed either of them. That's facts.

It makes people a fall risk when standing up, it causes unintentional overdoses, and it causes bradycardia & sedation. All from a "I do not get high from Clonidine" type drug.

The facts that remain are Clonidine in higher doses absolutely increase the effects of opioids and extends the hand of "the lost relaxing, pain, and sedation effect" from long-term opioid treatment.

Another fact is doctors are scared to Rx more than Clonidine 0.1mg tablets : 12hrs. Especially with a higher-end MME and opioids with high bioavailability PO. Long-term opioid treatment by PO (oral) only leaves a few options that the patient will quote on quote "feel like they are taking something." The 0.3mg Clonidine tablets enhance opioids IMO.

As far as crushing tablets to IV, a big waste of time. The FDA knew better than to let that slip under the rug. They turn to talc with water.

Duraclon (brand name Clonidine IV) has been helping delivering babies left and right via epidural shots. If it did not enhance the effects of opioids why was it added to morphine or other opioids to help women during one of the most painful days of her life. That's just it, Clonidine does help patient's with severe acute pain, severe acute post-op pain, severe cancer pain when they build a high tolerance to opioids. A big round of applause for Duraclon b/c 10mcg IV hits differently (15mcg IV was my dose). I take 1-2qty 0.3mg tablets PO : 8hrs/ 3qty tablets max in 24hrs. I thought I had a tolerance. I asked the anesthesiologist what was that (thinking it was an opioid I haven't taken in 40 years of pain management).

This post is getting extra and taking too my time. If Clonidine is not cutting the mustard then lick the jar I guess.

Unfortunately we aren't in any position to tell people what they can and can't do to their bodies. The best we can do is arm them with the facts to help them make their own decisions. People will do things knowing full well that it would/could be harmful or even deadly, and I'm one of them. You are absolutely right that shooting clonidine is objectively a bad idea, but it sounds like they've already done it. The best we can do now is inform them and hope that it's enough for them to not repeat it. If not, we have offered harm reduction practices that others can look to and learn from. are you saying you take that many PO tablets ? why would a doctor make you take that ?

makes no sense, there are actual options for a 2,000MME+

Im in Canada and an ex addict. My doctor would rather write a high prescription then me take fentanyl. I was on a much lower dose but I relapsed but when I quit my dose was increased

Clonidine Didn't Do Much Of Anything To Me That I Could Detect The Times I Was Prescribed It, But I Was Not In Opiate Withdrawals, Either.
