Finasteride

I am 38 and my hair thins out more and more. Thinking about getting on finasteride but a bit wary about the effects on hormones, I already wrecked my testosterone with opiates (currently abstinent, maybe should get another bloodwork) and this drug carries a warning for depression as side effect. How are your experiences, does finasteride even work with older (more than 20-30y/o) males? Minoxidil isn't available as pills here, only a spray which does nothing.

Finasteride works well. Stop losing it and it also thickens.

Just no good for boners.

But if u stick to .25mg EOD you should be good.

If you're concerned about systemic finasteride, there is also a topical option. You can apply it to your scalp once a day or once every two days, and it will work more locally instead of shutting down your systemic DHT.

Are you based in the US that you can purchase this in pharmacies?

It's not approved by regulators in the UK.

I had read the possibility of gynecomastia using this, and it's a legit concern and happens with users subsequently requiring surgery.

Isn't there some additional hormone or hormone blocker that steroid users take to prevent gyno?

Can it be stacked with finasteride to prevent that as a possible side effect?

Yeah that's a good question. I am going off friends who took that dose. They said they had no sides and it worked. So I have no science only word of mouth.

Gyno blocker I believe you are referriering to arimidex or aromasin. Personally I wouldn't be touching either of these unless on high amounts of gear. Fucking around with estrogen is no fun.

I think there is some question about the "effective dose" - I take half of the recomended dose and it seems to work the same. I guess it depends on how much test is floating around you as to how much finesteride you need to counter it.
