Tryptamines Anyone here ever tried ayahuasca?

I want to go on a retreat…wondering if anyone has ever tried it
You'd better choose from personal vouches from trusteds if you do, many (most?) of em just rip-off nonsense thesedays apparently and you'd be better served doing it elsewhere. Altho am sure some are ok etc

Hopefully some ppl with experience can chime in

Not disappointing. Great trip. But not inherently more divine than other drugs I've tried.
so many factors and variables in a trip eh

Have had such beautiful intense and cosmic mushroom trips it's difficult to imagine anything moreso (although am not ruling out trying sometime)

I've never gone on an ayahuasca retreat. I have made it and taken it at home several times. Effects can vary a lot depending on many particulars like the quality of vine and amount used as well as amounts of admixtures containing things like DMT. This is in addition to variable response between individual persons.

Two of my ayahuasca trips were among the most intense trips of my life. IMO, DMT in oral form feels at least as cosmic as mushrooms, and the aya vine itself has a very unique and special character, more oneirogenic than psychedelic. Aya experiences can be a lot like super intense dreams.

The retreats are phony bullshit.

You can get the ingredients yourself and even refining them to avoid nausea is pretty straight-forward. It will cost you about 0.5% of going to a fake shaman in some rainforest.

They cant grow some plants in their back yard??

Not everyone has a back yard, let alone in the right climate for substantial yields. But every american or citizen of many other countries can have access to this stuff.

North America needs their own shamans who guide you through the methamphetamine injection ritual followed by racing mormons on bikes to shoplift la croix and arizona iced tea from whole foods.

I did do a weekend in Drenthe.

I liked the communal atmosphere and the trip sitting.

I know I could take ayahuasa on my own, but having someone there to watch over me is better.

I did a month on a midwife center outside Archidona, Ecuador. I dont regret it for a second but now i have crystalline DMT and harmaloids that i extract.

Travelling 2000 miles to go take it in a cultural context that is totally foreign just seems backwards.
