So when I go to bluelight it usually says "Site not found" than takes a few seconds and finds it without further prompt or hitting the return button again in the http bar

Often when I post replies -- even likes/emoji's the server times out and I am stuck going back to the homepage and returning from there

these are not big deals or too inconvenient -- just wondering if it is common or an anomaly

Not quite the same, but I’ve been getting big - screen-filling big - purple rectangles instead of the heart or thumbs up emoji - and even as the background to the header of each forum.

Kinda weird. @Sadie says it’s fine on her phone. I’m using a pretty ancient iPhone if that’s relevant.

EDIT: sorry, I just reread your post and it’s not even remotely similar. Apologies for hijacking your thread :!

huh when I post Alot of times it goes 404 like the site doesn't exist than usually bounces me forward but sometimes the connect times out. May just be me clicking like than posting before the like has loaded. I do go pretty rapid fire than just edit it up as best I can real quick lol

first thing to try is your browser's private browsing mode. in chrome it's called "incognito", in safari and firefox "private window", and in edge "inproivate".

private browsing typically disables browser extensions temporarily. you can also try explicitly disabling them all as a test.

give that a go and see if there is any change in behavior.

I have no browser extensions (maybe I’m a weirdo… or just to lazy to bother looking for any). I’m on Safari btw.

Either way it’s still showing the heart emoji as a massive purple rectangle when trying to react to a post. Once reacted, the “heart” shows up as a small purple rectangle (like a lil purple playing card) in the correct spot.

It’s hardly a dealbreaker… but it is very odd.

It’s an iPhone - an ancient one. That’s probably the problem tbh… just so weird it changed overnight.

15.8.5 is the iOS version number.

Not sure how to find the version number of Safari…

This phone is so old it no longer gets updates so I’m stuck with what I have until my stepdaughter gets around to handing down her old phone…

Don’t worry about it - I’ll just put it down to age and universal oddness!

ah, that may well explain it. it also makes it harder to troubleshoot and resolve as the solution, if found, would inevitably be to update the os...

you could try clearing the safari cache in case you just have a cached version of a borked image file.

Will do!

And will cross my fingers that #1 daughter pulls her finger out with that new/old phone - she updated weeks ago: just hasn’t gotten around to hand-me-downing and it feels ungrateful to press the matter :!)

So in private is encouraged, well i always do.

But experiencing these delay s and temporary s of it mostly daily.
And assumed it was geographic area, remote vs big city where this didn t occur.
Despite browsing in the open. I shovelled it on the pile 'living on a remote part of .. '.

Weird reading its global. And while riding 'incognito modes' on Chromium.
This occur s frequently to me, but my provider is local to. Dumb move.
Before i had a common one which didn t display this.

So they claim internet goes faster and faster while in reality the opposit takes place.
They don t even have glass-fibre here, so ancient human spoken.
