You should absolutely do that. Find an open mic night somewhere and just go for it. Public speaking can be intimidating. If it's something you really want to do, you have to just put that fear aside and move past it.Back to the title of this thread: yes, there is one thing I've never done that I'd like to try.
Standup Comedy.
Once or twice before I die, I'd like to do a short standup set. Just to have done it.
I have zero stage experience of any kind & I actually have a fear of public speaking, but I'd like to conquer that fear & give it a shot.
I have a few stories to tellYou've lived a life
You probably know a thing or two about a thing or twoI have a few stories to tell
Doesn't everyone? You probably know a thing or two about a thing or two
Sometimes I wonder about that myself.Doesn't everyone?
When I hear about stuff others have gone thru, I feel like my experiences pale in comparison. I have been thru a lot but I tend to minimize those things. I think it's because I'm not a person who looks back on things. I like to move forward, sideways if necessary, but not backwards. I like to learn a little about anything I find interesting. I am someone who is a nurturer, a caretaker, a helper. I have to keep it positive. The negative isn't worth the energy. You saw a lot in those 2 photos. Thanks for the applause. LolSometimes I wonder about that myself.
Living a life and knowing a thing or two about a thing or two are expressions of affirmation from me. I recognize people who have been through some shit and gleaned wisdom from it, and i make those observations to them when that happens. As in thiss case, you seem like a wise human who has been through a lot, and you continue to try to contribute positively to the world. I applaud you for it.
I have been through a lot and through that I have learned how to read people. I use that to be of service to those in need. When I hear about stuff others have gone thru, I feel like my experiences pale in comparison. I have been thru a lot but I tend to minimize those things. I'm toying with the idea, but not in a big hurry. You should absolutely do that.
It goes well with you faceThis is me around 1998. I would have been 22 at the time with very short hair.
This is now, at 49. This is the longest my hair has been since high school.
I saw there is an old stand up comedy thread on here. I didn't look thru it but maybe that could be some inspiration.I'm toying with the idea, but not in a big hurry.
For one thing, I need to put together some coherent material. It's harder than it looks, and 10 minutes is a lot longer than it sounds
Thanks for the encouragement!![]()
I've always used my own pic. My avatar is a pic of me taken in 2023 I think. I know things get around in the Internet. I'm definitely not naive to the way it works. I'm not planning on changing my hair, just looking for suggestions to keep it out of my face. I always have it upUsing your own pic, daring
I always just wear mine in a ponytail but I think braids look cool-- especially on attractive young women like yourself.I'm not planning on changing my hair, just looking for suggestions to keep it out of my face. I always have it up

My favourite bit is the scene with Christopher walken and the guy from easy rider I forget his name .he was also in blue velvet which is also amazing as is twin peaks .he's also in apocalypse now .I could google but that would be cheatingGreat movie.
Yeh it's pretty stunning and very bleak at the same time.shes been sending lots of photos of volcanoes that have been used in film [game of thrones etc] plus she sent me a photo of the hotel restaurant menu lol.Iceland is on my dream list of places to visit. I'm a little jealous of your wife right now.
There are so many big stars in that movie. I looked at it earlier because I didn't remember Samuel Jackson being in it but it's been years, many years since I've watched it. I think you are talking about Dennis Hopper. My favourite bit is the scene with Christopher walken and the guy from easy rider I forget his name .he was also in blue velvet which is also amazing as is twin peaks .he's also in apocalypse now .I could google but that would be cheating
