Given the current trend of psychedelic acceptance in the US is it safer to buy LSD online than before?
Not willing to risk it yet but hopefully with the changes in attitudes about psychedelics there may come a time when buying psychedelics will be as easy as shopping at any given online store.

Purchasing it online is as safe (and as dangerous) as its ever been. Assuming you know what you're doing (using encryption, anonymous crypto, being scam aware etc) there isn't much that can go wrong besides your vendor being busted and still having your correspondence on file, but that has nothing to do with it being more socially acceptable. It's still a scheduled drug and you still risk fines prison a criminal record etc if you get caught.

It's as legally risky as it ever was, but ignoring that, the only problem I've faced buying online is exaggerated claims of potency.

Too risky for me I’ll stick to growing mushrooms

Might try morning glory seeds extraction though

I’ve been considering it lately. I’ve never bought any substance online outside of CBD, kratom, and stuff like phenibut or noopept. LSD seems like a pretty safe one in theory.

Of course, those substances are legal (or legal in many places at least) so there's inherently more risk to ordering LSD. However, with basic precautions, the vast majority of people who order illegal drugs online never run into any legal issues. Due to its small size, LSD is probably one of the safest things.
Some advice:
Order from a dark net market.
If you choose not to use a market, eg a menu on telegram, only use vendors that exclusively accept crypto. Anybody willing to let you pay over paypal or whatever is a honeytrap or a scammer.
If you ever get a call or letter from USPS asking you to claim the package in person, deny ordering anything and refuse the package. Do not go there. They probably wouldn't have enough evidence to get a warrant to search your home, so if you refuse the package and deny any knowledge of it, it might save you.

The last point is unlikely but something to remember in a worst case scenario. I've ordered a significant amount of such things over the years and never had any legal issues.

PS, watch out for scammers.

Great advice, thanks! I’ve done a lot of reading that points out many of the same issues. I’d also be interested in ordering rc psychs, coke, and amphetamine. I don’t have a plug and I’m such a hermit I’m not really sure how to find one, talking to other people at concerts/bars is not generally something I do.

I know the size makes them more risky, but how much more risky are powders in your experience? I’ve always assumed they’d be the worst, but then again I’ve ordered plenty of legal or legalish powdered or pressed substances on the clear net that would look similar. I assume most packages get X-rayed, and if that’s true, wouldn’t modafinil, racetams, phenibut, kanna, kratom extracts/7oh, pea, etc. look similar enough to raise suspicion? None of these packages were wrapped in anything special and all came without a hitch.

And how do you deal with delivery? Do you have it delivered to your home address or do you use a fake name, nearby abandoned address, drop point? That’s one part I really don’t know how to deal with. If I used a nearby address my package would get scooped up in no time I’d assume.

I read a thread recently, it may have been here or on Reddit, about the declining reliability of dark net markets. Have you noticed any truth to that? More scammers, less consistent quality, wrong orders, etc. in the past few years.

It’s not the best is it’s not the worst time. Kind of similar to lsd, but less visual, very sleepy, and kind of depressive. I puked a lot on it almost every time. It also had this weird flux to it where I would feel sober one minute, then moderate trip the next. The auditory hallucinations were unsettling, but one of my more transformative trips was from mgs. 12g I believe it was that time. Never touched it since. Save some seeds to grow, depending on where you are they’re easy, and so so pretty.

I don't have a lot of experience with powder but I have ordered some things like crystal MDMA, crystal 2cb, other crystal RC psychs. Never had any problems, and I've gotten bulky things like weed and mushrooms delivered without incident. Of course, I'm still taking varying degrees of risk every time so I'd never call it totally safe, but the probability is likely on your side. Millions of packages go through USPS every day, many of them containing illicit substances.

Unlike UPS or FedEx, the USPS cannot open your package under any circumstances without a warrant. They do, to some degree, practice screening via X-ray or even dogs, but they don't do it to every package due to the amount coming through every day. Unless something is overtly suspicious about the package, or they've been tipped off in advance, they don't screen it. Dogs in particular are uncommon and not used often, x rays are more common, but as you pointed out, many legal things come in powdered form so that alone often isn't enough for them to get a warrant to open your package. If they're very suspicious they will likely hold the package until they can get a drug dog to smell it, but they can't do that all of the time.

If you're buying personal amounts, detection becomes less likely too. A brick of cocaine is going to be far more obvious than time powder in a bag.

I do get it delivered to my home address. When I was younger, I experimented a bit with using other addresses, especially when I lived next to a house that remained vacant most of the year, but ultimately just started getting it delivered to my home. I figure that isn't proof alone that I've ordered anything, especially if I haven't accepted the package. I do use an alias, always a different one. I'm not sure it helps much but it also can't really hurt.

It's definitely true that dark net markets aren't what they used to be but there are places where you can find people discussing them. I'm reluctant to be specific as it might be considered sourcing to name such places, even though it's a step removed from directly mentioning sources. I'll say I've had success during good DNMs on a certain tor-only reddit clone.

The main risk that I can see with DNMs is less honeypots but exit scams, where it operates as a legitimate market for a time before suddenly closing, pocketing all the money in escrow. I can also say that it's becoming more common for markets to get taken down by the feds. In such cases it seems like they usually go after vendors on the site and not the guy ordering a small amount for personal use.

There are also legitimate vendors on the clear net and telegram but to have to be very careful, and I've found it more difficult to weed out scammers that way. They're easier to advertise and often do not offer any kind of escrow.

Overall I'd say the risk is low but always present. If you're just buying enough for yourself, you are going to be a low priority target and not worth the trouble IF you practice good opsec and don't make it easy on them.

Know the law, know your rights, practice good privacy habits and opsec, and you can avoid a lot of trouble.

I appreciate you letting me pick your brain. I have some more research to do for sure. All good things to note!

someone allegedly bought mushrooms from a dealer on reddit, talked on phone heard chickens in the background and even showed pictures of what was said to be mushrooms. Paid with bitcoin, got message that item address needed confirmation and to pickup at local airport. Ignored request to identify and pickup. Lost $200 but likely avoided....

Just be careful. What you may find listed on the Internet may not actually be LSD and could be 2CB-BOM instead or something like that.
A more common thing I've run into is underdosed tabs being advertised as much higher. 200ug tabs that barely hit.

You can also test them if you're fine sacrificing a tab. LSD and close analogues will get the same result AFAIK but nbome, etc will react differently or not at all.
