It's just some bark being imported.
"confirmed to be DMT" and "300 vacuum-sealed bags worth a street value of $555,000" are the worst kind of law enforcement (and media) lies.

That happened to some kid. He ordered some large amount of mimosa bark like 100lbs from overseas, it got intercepted by customs, and the DEA charged him with that amount of DMT. The weight of the bark. Which ended up being some crazy amount of time like 30 years. I think that was on an episode of Hamilton's show (?).

I know they used to do that with other drugs. Like they would weigh LSD tabs and charge them with the weight of the paper as the amount of LSD possessed. Maybe they still do

when i used to buy drugs in early 2000's, i never met any dealers selling dmt stuff... all that stuff people just ordered through the dark web.. i wonder if that's what all this dmt was for or if they were selling it on the streets..

Yeah, that's one of the reasons LSD stopped being "pressed" and windowpane and blotter started being common. Carrier weight was included and people were being charged and doing time for inactive filler that the bulk of a pill weighs vs the few hundred ug of actual LSD.
 
Bring up the article. It has pics. It's bark. Last time I read something like this, it was prepackaged packets of bark being imported.
 
Yeah, I imagine there's going to be an increase in bullshit charges like this, due to the ramping up of customs and border patrol funding and the ever increasing over reach by the federal government into local matter.

This is flagrantly criminal behavior on the government to charge someone with the possession of a drug that they're not actually in possession of. What a joke it is.
