What Are You Munching On? v. Best. Tatties. Ever. <3

Real food is honestly a blessing we deny ourselves as addicts. I for one am genuinely rooting for you to succeed in your new lifestyle, Coker. I (eventually) managed to kick the rocks and if I can you definitely can too ❤️

PS: In on topic news… currently sucking onna nicotine lozenge cos I’m still trying to quit the smokes :!

Yes, I am feeling a better buzz having food in cupboard and fridge than from smoking crack. And thanks for your support it's most appreciated 🙏

Good luck with the nicotine replacement lozenges, I still use snuff but have got micro tabs which I use on occasions and hopefully will change over completely but first the cocaine then the booze

What is making this omelette so good is
that it is stuffed with cheese in the middle.
Cheddar.

Wow - 10pm.

So far two energy drinks and one sandwich. I have pasta salad and fresh juice and I'm greatful that I have those things.

My willpower finally gave way to my self-indulgence this morning, and I treated myself to a box of Aldi "Specially Selected Gourmet Black Pepper Savoury Crackers."

OMG, they are by far the nicest and most more-ish savoury biscuit I've ever had.

I also bought a mild Brie and some strong Stratford Blue, which I top them off with, using varying amounts of either on each cracker.

When I first discovered them, I'm sure the above 'snack' had a huge impact on a sudden large weight gain.

So I only very rarely treat myself these days. After having shed most of that weight gain.

Weirdly, or maybe thankfully, the black pepper flavour crackers are very rarely in stock. The black pepper and salt, rosemary, and some other flavours I forget, are nowhere near as nice. So I don't get tempted by them. But whenever the black pepper only ones are in stock, it's hard to resist. But I think I managed a few weeks, until crumbling readily today. It might have been due to going shopping while feeling slightly hungry and also being UTI of a combo that may increase impulsivity and feelings of hunger.

I'll try to make these last 3 days, IIRC on a few occasions I've been a total glutton and just wolfed the whole box of crackers in one sitting. And then justified getting another box to finish off the left over Brie and Stratford Blue. Which there always is. (As it would be wasteful to not use up those cheeses.) :roll eyes:

Oh noes! B is signalling his savory cracker addiction!

Uncertain what would be an appropriate intervention in such a case. Force feeding Aldi rice crackers? I eat an entire tube of them each day but at 89p, I can just about swing that ;-)

In all seriousness, it's great to see you getting better each day. I know there will always be setbacks, but I also know you are someone who, once you set your mind to a task, achieve.

They are kind of addictive aren't they?

Do you add any toppings?

It's not really the cost I'm concerned about, but more the fattening nature of them, especially because of all the cheeses I consume them with, and also shock horror sometimes with alcohol. Spirits or white wine, especially Pinot Grigio combines so nicely. (Christ that sounds so middle class, and although I have solid working class roots, I do have several middle class tastes and ways of thinking. Like cracked pepper in those grinders for example. I really cannot stand the taste or smell of that dreadful cheap powdered white pepper. And there's several other middle class tendencies too. I feel kind of stuck in between in a few ways.)

I've also quite recently found out that I have a stomach hernia, and have the initial hospital consultation coming up soon. I have a slim frame, but a horribly protruding belly. It's not a good look, obviously! I'm hoping that a large part of that is due to the hernia, and if I can get that surgically removed, it should help flatten my stomach to at least some degree. (I've seen some amazing before and after type photos online of the difference that surgery makes to this type of hernia.)

I'm also hoping that it's just fatty tissue that has broken through my abdominal wall, which just seems a lot less serious or risky than the alternative, which is that a part of my intestines has broken through. Sometimes they can just be pushed back in, but I'd much rather have surgery to remove fatty tissue, rather than having to have surgery on my intestines, which must be a lot more of a complex surgical operation to sort out.

It's true that once I set my mind to something I usually achieve it. But then again I have heaps of "To Do" lists, and I'm never going to achieve everything I've listed, so I need to start prioritising things more. :roll eyes:

There are some simple things like hoovering, which i struggle to get done regularly. If only I could get my mind set to do that every week, like any normal 'respectable' folk, that would help a lot! :\

No - I buy the salt and vinegar ones (in the blue pack) and eat them alone with fresh fruit juice. It soaks up the liquid so I don't end up having to get up and go for a pee in the hours of sleep. I don't have enough of those anyway, so losing even more would likely not work out too well for me.

What kind of pervert sullies cheese on toast with beans? Especially if we're talking baked beans, which is something I can't even look at without my stomach doing a somersault.

It turns a snack into a meal. If you don't like beans, fine. But you might be surprised to learn just how popular beans are with the vast majority of the public.

Beans beans, the musical fruit
The more you eat, the more you toot
The more you toot, the better you feel,
So eat some beans with every meal !
