Google'd the bible's most controversial quotes for shock value? (Bad sense of humor wrong time wrong place) AND got burned with what turned out to be a half quote. (Oh shit I remember it was the oklahoma instituting bibles in school's that pissed me off )

Shit was not cool -- even worse inaccurate.

Please accept my apologies

Sometimes in life we make little mistakes that teach us lessons which help us avoid bigger mistakes.

Proverbs: Probably.

With every mistake should come a lesson indeed -- and I don't think this is groundbreaking but something for me to remember personally.

When emotional - especially pissed off it is easy to be misinformed, take things out of context, cherry pick information etc. and repeat it. (Pretty sure whole algorhythm's run on this)

I think it takes a special kind of stupid to double down on that mistake and argue about the 'cherry pick' having validity rather than admitting you were wrong/made a mistake --- this kind of stupidity seems to be particularly prevalent ATM.

I am sorry I will do better.

Thank you for being so christian about it! Sincerely,

Feel free to delete this or make fun of me forever lol either way -- wrong place wrong time -- my apologies!

What did I miss smokey? ;)

Actually a thread on controversial quotes can probably get some good conversation going. But also like these guys said, you backed off do to the spirit it was put forward in. Very mature move in a world where people can't admit they had a slip. The Golden Rule in action so great example and in the right forum! A happy accident.

But in a different way can probably be a great thread to talk of controversial quotes. I will admit the new testament is where I derive most wisdom.

Going to try and post on Elisha and Elijah. The Kings 2 book in comparison to John the Baptist and Jesus. There was some recognition there but could be controversial. I just need the time to type it up with the correct references.
