Football Fantasy Football 2024-2025

Our main problem here is we don't have one place where all of us can talk.

Electrum won't get on discord. Ions and deficits friends don't have an account on BL. For some reason almost no one is checking the espn chat...

Also, we should commit to some official way of communicating with eachother, whether it be discord, the espn fantasy app chat, or a thread here on the forum. There needs to be better , more fluent conversation...

As of now, when nsa joins, we have 8 total. I can probably fill the other two spots from the fantasy discord server I'm in, but to do that I need to know how to advertise it, meaning a buy in or free to play.

We have basically a week left. So please let's start a dialogue here. Also, please take the time to review the roster settings, scoring settings, etc etc , because I'm also more than willing to take suggestions for changes .

I'll take a gander at the scoring today and mention if there's anything whacky that I see.

I've got the draft time in my calendar so I'll be there.

Nice, that looks almost in line with how I've set it up usually, which has worked out well.

The things I've done differently:

- interceptions I normally put to 4

- forced fumble and fumble recovery I put 2 each, since they are separate actions but still culminate in one turnover like an interception.

- with the tackles, you might find that will end up being too heavy of a stat for tackles by doing solo, assist, and total tackles. Because when someone gets a tackle it will register points for both a solo or assist, in addition to getting points for total tackles. So I think that spread will lean everything way in favor of defense. My suggestion would be to just put 1 point per tackle, they'll get points for half a tackle or any tackle already from that. And then maybe add a .5 PT for a solo tackle if you wanted to get that little bonus for it.

- For special teams, it we want our defenders to get points for their punt and kickoff returns, I would add in punt & kickoff returns with the same yardage as rushing or receiving. That's the way I like to do it to incorporate special teams and have a really full roster where every side of the ball matters.

- Stuffs are weird, sometimes they're called stuffs sometimes Tackle for loss, but I think those should get points too, maybe the same as pass defense or sack. It's basically a sack on a runner, so I think it's worth points.

Anyways these are my main critiques and suggestions but however you and everyone else would like to do it is chill 🤙
 
Why is a sack only worth double a tackle.. stats on number of sacks in an entire season show some years around 1100 or 1200 2023 2024 while the number of total tackles isn’t even counted or at least easily available..

I say we jack sack points up to be inline with their rarity and value.. sacks worth five? it will make the Draft more interesting and important

Well, if sacks are set at 5, they'll actually count as 5.75 or 6.5 stacked with the assist/solo tackle. Thats valuing sacks basically the same as touchdowns. Thats not how our leagues have historically been. They've been linebacker focused with a more spread out approach. I just worry if sacks are that high, defenses will be skewed pretty heavily towards whoever manages to draft the few elite guys. Things will be more boom or bust, etc.

But maybe I'm overthinking it. At the end of the day I only want what the majority thinks is best -- it's just hard trying to gather consensus on anything.

I suppose if I don't hear back from Krink and some others I've reached out to by tomorrow I'll come up with a plan to fill our open spots with some guys from a fantasy discord server I'm in. I think that'd be better than opening it to randos on ESPN who could easily ghost us.

And anyone who wants to review the scoring stats please do. Log in to the site to make sure things are current.

Right but their aren’t enough of them to make a huge difference.. what adds a handful of potential draft picks into the mix and will increase the value of some coverage guys that also rush for sacks.

How many TDs scored last season total?

Idk. The old league is deleted so all the stats were too.
But yeah I'm trying to take everyone's suggestions in and balance them as best I can.
