Hypothetical -- ish --- anual profit for a store selling 7 oh/bathsalts

So this may read more like a trip report but the question is how much do you think the average smoke shop is making off of 7 oh/bathsalts etc annually. I'll go first


I remember when MDPV was legal --- for almost a decade we had one smoke shop, also could pawn video games, knives --- incense -- porn section downstairs with the glass --- THEY JUST BARELY GOT BY

Until MDPV hit the open market --- this store went in hard on the mdpv and the owner was all too happy to brag that he became a millionaire in a single year. (Don't cheer yet) --- Unfortunately the guy was so foolish that he sold an undercover cop a damn dime bag in the business during business hours. So they took everything of course.

Before they took everything you could see the store thriving though --- wider selection -- cheaper prices; didn't wanna deal with pawning and I think the porn section disappeared. So pretty clearly there was an influx of cash (and good for theyhem)

Now they are about to schedule 7 oh of course but I have seen a similar thing happen again (In a much savvier way) with 7 oh -- Store went from having silicone bongs for 100 bucks to carrying Roor, glass hookahs, couple 1k over pieces.

I would say it is pretty clear that they stock upgrade came from 7 oh profits (and good for them I hope they STAY SAVVY). Now MDPV was absurdly cheap to buy legally --- 7 oh a little less so (?) or I am just out of the game and have no cheap connect.

At any rate are other people seeing this kind of thing happen near/around them? How much you think you are making say you are the single source in town for such a thing (For these ppl single source in a good 100 miles in any direction)?

I would hate to put myself at any kind of risk but this seems like kind of an obvious thing to do? * I have no moral objection unless the substance is inherently toxic * (Of course I missed the boat with 7-oh but I am sure something else is coming down the line)

Considering the markup these places add to their 7 OH and Kratom products, I bet they’re making fat stacks. Wouldn’t know exactly how much tho, depends on the kind of volume they get, but considering in my experience they’re usually adding a 15-25% markup compared to online prices, and might get their stock even cheaper with bulk pricing, they could be making lots of money.

Wouldn’t know exactly how much tho, depends on the kind of volume they get, but considering in my experience they’re usually adding a 15-25% markup compared to online prices, and might get their stock even cheaper with bulk pricing, they could be making lots of money.

I am going off MDPV because I was connected at the time and saw the whole thing happen from start to finish. 10 grams of mdpv was like 60 units. (Pricing isn't allowed stick with the unit thing)

The head shop would take gram cut it down to .4 and charge 50 units for that. .4x10 = 500 units. .4 x 10 again = 500 units .2 x 10 - 200 units

So they were making 1200 units of money for every 60 spent. That is what 2000%. ( I never noticed the math worked out so nicely for them until I just did that ! ),

The store was constantly sold out, could not go in there without a line of ppl asking for that ish even if it was not currently stocked. In this case study the answer was well over 1m per year. (God knows how much more really, that was the # the guy threw out constantly. Hell after they couldn't get the powder they started selling the tablets 2 for 60 -- which was just "Fuck you junky what ya gunna do pricing" -- may have got them the ill will that sunk the ship. They sold off the shelf though.

This has all played out in court already so don't worry about me detail dropping --- sounds like 7-OH does not have the same type of margin? It certainly has the same demand (and that is where I shutup) -- Other than saying it is TOO LATE to start a 7 OH scheme of any kind with impending sched 1...

The NEXT TIME/THING THIS HAPPENS WITH PERHAPS I WILL BE PREPARED THOUGH.

in fairness Im comparing already pressed tablets prices, if you look at powder it’s a whole different ball game. You can buy powder online for 10 mg per dollar or even cheaper while they’re selling pills for 15 times that amount, though the cost of pressing those pills is something to consider. And of course demand is huge and rising with the looming ban. Still, since headshops probably aren’t pressing them themselves I bet their profits are more modest especially since this stuff is everywhere, but I bet they still make a killing.
