How to best treat a deep wound/cut to avoid infection and scarring?

I have a deep cut/wound at a place that's difficult to access. It's 2 days old and yesterday it seemed better, but this morning it was oozing pus again.
Now I'm not sure if I should remove the stitches, or if there is some OTC ointment or liquid I could use to help the healing process.
I have no way to see a doc for this.

Keep it clean. Do you have/can you obtain Betadine/Iodine? Definitely don't remove the stiches yourself. I'd get some clean sterile gauze and iodine and try that twice a day. Can you see a pharmacist at least? :/

Chlorhexidine solution could be good too but I would start with the iodine

no, i couldn't get to a pharmacy.
i did the best i could to keep it clean. at some point i found some chlorhexidine, but by then it had already healed up a lot.
it's all almost in the past now.
