I see you guys are talking about abilify i want to switch my medication i am on zyprexa 10mg either to abilify or latuda . It say latuda is gentler on the blocking and overall everything . I am stuck at a weight that I dont want to be at it not going up amd not going down just stuck but I like how stable zyprexa made me feel but it is not recommended for long term use like the others are especially it a weight gainer . I am leaning more towards latuda . Overall I am doing 1000% great just tired of this weight .

Im on zyprea 10mg's and have put on no weights from it so everyone is different. Abilify made me gin weght as bad as invega and latuda gave me horrible akathisia

It is crazy I heard that abilify give you akathisia and that it is a lower chance with latuda . Now I have mix emotions I know nothing can be as bad as invega but I am really scared to take abilify even if it is just pill form I dont want to go backward with my feeling like becoming emotionally blunted again or numb / anhedonia . I really dont want akathisia I have had it before in the beginning while taking zyprexa i kinda just toughed through it and took something to help with it and it eventually went away . How did you feel on abilify was it injections ( i will not go on the injection) or pills

Good to know youre feeling better with the added dopamine.
yes theres definetly more dopamine than before but nothing like pre invega. Abilify even at 2 mg blocks 65% of the dopamine receptor but it acts as dopamines partner rather then a full blocker like invega.in 3 weeks I should see even more dopamine for adhd symptoms to dissapear.

13 Months (408 days) since I got injected with Invega Sustenna. Absolutely no changes still have dopamine and serotonin receptor dysfunction.

Primary Receptor Targets of Invega:

1. Dopamine D2: anhedonia, emotional blunting, loss of motivation, cognitive impairment, elevated prolactin, movement issues (akathisia, rigidity)

2. Serotonin 5-HT2A/5-HT7: emotional numbness, sexual dysfunction, sleep disruption, poor executive function

3. Alpha-1/Alpha-2 Adrenergic: blood pressure instability, dizziness, chronic fatigue, impaired attention

4. Histamine H1: sedation, weight gain, brain fog

5. Muscarinic Acetylcholine: dry mouth, cognitive dulling

My sleep is terrible I don't get tired at all just get bored of being awake so I try to sleep but it's a broken sleep. Also got dry mouth from invega so I have a chronic sore throat or burning senstation that doesn't go away.

I truly wonder if people including myself can recover from this because it's not like the brain goes back to normal after any drug interaction.

Dont get me wrong I love the zyprexa i am on just not seeing progress in my weight also it not recommended for long term use especially if you are pre diabetic which i am so I am switching for factor of my health not because I dont like the medication . What was your thoughts on latuda besides the akathisia.

So i got a new psychiatrist and she recomended cobenfy. It came out 2024 i rhink. It is an antipsychotic that doesnt work by blocking dopamine, i forget what exactly it does. She said it may help bc it “treats negative symptoms of schizofrenia like anhedonia” even tho i told her my anhedonia isnt mental illness. Anyways, have yall tried it
I would be careful this stuff sounds scary. It is used if you are resistant to other medications . It requires close monitoring. Not trying to scare you just don't want you to go backwards in your recovery process . I believe it will be good for someone who is suffering really bad but the risk of losing my feelings and joy again I personally wouldn't take it . I dont know your situation but I would research before going on it .it doesnt say it treats anhedonia that it can cause that dull emotional dull feeling which is anhedonia. Becareful some doctors will recommend shit only because they get money out of it not completely understanding what you are going through you clearly didnt get the anhedonia from schizophrenia i didnt have it and I am schizoaffective bipolar type . I only got it after invega injections so I would personally tell her no thank you that stuff can mess you up even more just looking out for you . Do research if you are considering it out way the good and bad .

Latuda just sucked

Just talked with my psychiatrist; I’m not getting switched off this invega. Next time I’ll try to get it down to 117 mg

I have muscle rigidity and cognitive dulling as well. I’m sorry it’s been so long and you are not better.
I don’t understand how some people recover and others don’t. I feel deeply compassionate for what you’re going through!

Latuda just sucked
Okay did it sucked in the way it made you feel ? Or because of the akathisia. If you didnt get that would it be worth a try ? Honestly I am just nervous about switching i came to far to ruin what I got going on but I know the switch is needed . I been diagnosed since 2015 but I never took medication seriously I would be put on medications in inpatient then once I was out I would completely stop taking it I believed it was killing my 3rd eye and spirituality experience that is how I got stuck with invega so I dont know much on these medication never been on anything long enough .I know zyprexa did the job but I know it need to move on from it .

Besides the akathisia it made it hard to sleep and made me edgy.

The blank mind and cognitive impairment is the worst.

Trying to explain it to people is difficult, the first reaction you get is

“Well how are you talking right now then?”
“No you don’t have a blank mind”

It gets frustrating to deal with. People are fortunately not acquainted with drastic cognitive impairment or having a blank mind. More generally, people aren’t accustomed to dealing with invega and aren’t that empathetic about the issues of going through it

How did the doctor visitation go
I didn't go. It's the same manipulative I was talking about before. I'm planning to see I can find time to see her again but I'm not sure if she would give me dopamine agonists or a drug that would help me.

How long did it take? Did you take any drug like dopamine agonists or stimulants to aid with recovery? What did you do?
Hey. I think it was probably two months or so, roughly. I was working and going to school. I switched to Abilify, which works well for me. Just caffeine. I don't mess with other things. I think weed was the worst thing for me.
