What are you listening to? Part XXX - Sexxxy tunes for sexxxy folks

Having a second night on the yips. So when I turned on Radio 1 after arriving home as the last yipee started pouring more serotonin flavored rave rush gravy that has me for real on the way it should, even with respect to how smooth my brain turned out. Any way, Despite having not listened to Radio 1 during the station broadcast live - Even the EM's I had not looked at any contemporary shows so, fresh in the house and green from the beans the first thing I thought about was just putting a quck accsess sound on while I set up the main pklaylist - Radio 1 being the choice on a sky box. But to then find out its not only hardcore jungalism, not only the ESsemtial Mix but an archival select - DJ Rap form Sept 98.

Its that perfect late 90's rave sound and I had seen her play only once - Celebrating the end of a Club Tour ESP Dreamscape were using the Sanctuary Music Arena in Bletchley, which unlike the 8000 capacity parties both Helter Skelter and DS were using the whole Denbigh North lesuire complex, As a 'Club Dreanscape' event they only licensed the 3000 capacity Sanctuary Arena itself and although the main arena's music mostly consisted of upfront happy hardcore, they had put the late THHT DJ Randall in the middle of Hixxy, Dougal and all them stompy cunts, as well as DJ Rap. It was first night I had ever taken Mitsubishi's while the OG press from late 97 still saw itself out and the weekend after she played this EM for Radio 1 was watching her from a few hundred feet away as my first ever pill kicked in Dreamscape, making Rap the first artist I experienced in full rave context after using speed to go out onle up until then.

Anyone in the UK can access it now through the iPlayer, and as a Radio 1 broadcast alone,, does not require TV license to legit enjoy.
^^^^^CLASSIC, one of the first jungle tunes I ever heard I think

sounded incredible at 50k watts on a couple pink callies at World Dance 1995 I can tell ya

Im sorry I havnt carried on the conversation following your last posts and the Goldie posts. I have and had lots to say but every time I went to reply I ended up writing pages of random text most of which I deleted instead of posting xx

PS I never went to Lydd but I have the Access All areas Video with the Bonfire Night Footage from 1995 xx

starting the evening's listening with some stand-out performances from a standout uk live music showcase program (which has been going since the 90's) called 'Later... no frills, nowt fancy, but somehow seems to galvanise artists into some truly memorable performances

heres the Zutons with a song which Amy Winehouse would (memorably) cover a couple of years later

The audience have no idea who is on this show when they apply for tickets...so imagine that and Bowie turns up with Earl Slick on guitar and the remarkable Gail Ann Dorsey on bass, showcasing a brilliant reworking of one of his classics

make sure you're not jumping off any bridges at the end of that melancholy marathon!
ha!
its one of the only groups i can listen to without angst as it predates an associated bs being tied to it.
reminds me of when the wall came out i was a kid huffing gas listening and could hear shit from space. good times, i tell ya what. 😂
i would not recommend anyone huffing gas just the opposite just say no.

Saw Roger Waters do 'The Wall' live in 2013, I wasn't really keen to go but a friend kinda insisted and.....was absolutely epic wow

I'm not a big Oasis fan (I do like 4 or 5 songs quite a bit tho) but they definitely had 'it' for a couple of years when fresh..check this for a first ever tv appearance, 100% live too, fair dues

...and then a mere 2 years after the above, playing to quarter of a million people over 2 nights at Knebworth, crazy story really (it was downhill all the way after the second album though, but still)

You might as well do the white line..."

One of the best bands ever, I LOVE The Doors.

Such a tragically under-rated and undeservedly obscure absolute masterpiece of a track.

It's just beautiful. The instrumentation, vocals, and backing vocals, lyrics, themes, are beyond words as to how good they are imo. Full body chills and goose bumps.

Definitely rates highly among my all time favourite tracks. It's Lennon-esque in it's brilliance. With a top notch Dylanesque harmonica solo. If you're going to be influenced by anyone, be influenced by the greatest.
