Some ultra sour that i reluctantly bought at the store. I can get a ounce of northern lights online for about the same price of this half ounce of ultra sour at the store. Fucking Canada and the taxes

Question here for any takers:

So I'm going to visit family here in a couple days and first thing we're doing is making some tincture. Already got the Everclear, just throwing it out there - does anyone have recommendations on the soak time? I don't really expect optimal results in the short amount of time as say you'd do for a qwiso wash, but would say 3 hours work? I've only got 3 days there with fam and we're devoting the whole of day one to activities around the house, so one day give or take is my time window to prep, soak and evap the tincture to bottle size. Thoughts? 🤔
 
^Make sure you decarb it first! Idk if you can get a good dose of pot into a amount of alcohol that wont be more overwhelming --- concentrate on the other hand could prolly get a couple grams in a shot??

I don't think time should be as much of an issue but in general you know more about this stuff than me so feel free to override me here. 151 is what 70% ethanol? I forget, been awhile since I needed to dissolve anything going in my mouth : (
 
I'm on it, got the decarb part down pat. 👍

That's actually the reason I'm doing tincture, she already knows how to make oil, but with tincture you can infuse 1g thc into 1g of alcohol (a shot is like 24g) so it can be made really potent lol. I've already got my evaporation tactics down as well from making concentrates, so that's the only other variable. I know washes can go anywhere from several seconds to several months, but I've only got a few hours. I know freezing the alcohol and the cannabis helps, just not sure if time would allow me to freeze the bud post decarb. I've made kick ass, if not exactly hr friendly, qwiso concentrates with just 45 second washes, so I know it can be done, just seeking personal recommendations/preferences.

Oh, and 151 is like 75%. The Everclear is 95%/190 proof.

We're doing daytime and nighttime batches for her (mom) but we've already got the flower waiting at her place and I'm SUPER stoked to be making and sampling my own batch, cause I've got a half oz of Cinderella 99 x Romulan waiting for mine. 😁

Ohh shoot you are a step ahead of me! 1g THC into 1g alcohol that is alot more than I expected!

I THINK you can freeze the bud after decarbing -- I would presume that is a one way reaction based on my VERY LIMITED chemistry knowledge (oh NVM I don't think that was your concern)

ok i always used 153 proof (What the store sells called "diesel") 190 proof gosh golly. ---- My memory of QWISO wash hash was that you wanted it to get cold but the shaking was only recommended for a couple minutes as THC goes to solution fast but chlorophylls and other ish will get in there the longer you shake it before coffee filtering.

The other line of logic that I thought was debunked was let it sit for as long as possible in a cool dry place to make sure you get everything.......If I recall I am going on memory here.
 
Yeah you can definitely freeze after decarb, it's just a time constraint thing for me. But if I can get away with a shorter, agitated cold wash (say 20 to 30 minutes) then I could probably pick it all out first thing (1.5oz total we're processing so that'll take a bit lol), decarb it all at once and then stick it in the freezer for a bit. I will at least have the ethanol cold. And you're right, the whole set it in the cabinet for 3 months thing is bunk, so you're doing at that point is leeching all your chlorophyll, etc. in there.

I'm just trying to make sure we get the best product, but also don't waste a bunch of excess time. I've only got 3 days to visit on this trip and we're dedicating one to arts and crafts. 😁
 
Picked up a new batch from new grower of Jealousy indoor.

Took this pic with the morning sun behind be to get the most natural color, but looking at the pic compared to the flower off camera, the amount of purple in this batch is amazing and beautiful.

After Previewing the post I thought I would add this photo out of sunlight, and here you can see the purple more distinctly and the numeral labelling system is explained below....Oh, it is a heavy bud and there is a big girl there, must be at least 3.5g, but trying to be the professional photographer that I am, I told her to stand at the back. :p



1. 90% the size of the bud that is on number "2" that is ready for grinding.
2. She is just posing. Glad not to have been torn apart yet like her sibling.
3. The Queen of the family

Going to grind "1" up now and give it a taste.

Also love black maple and being in the cannabis industry. (legal or otherwise). I also find 39% TAC pretty tough to believe on a weed strain -- 32% THC idk. I definitely remember when matanuska (or Alaskan thunderfuck) had the record at 23% past 00 I'm pretty sure.

High figures are deffinately possible, hell, ive seen PROPER cap junkie cuts hit 33+% thc and 5+% terps. My buddy just grew a Krazy runtz he entered into a cannabis cup that tested just shy of 31% and that was a home grow.

Its not that hard to get something that pumps out tons of a certain cannabinoid. That doesnt mean the smoke will be good though. Some of the absolute best shit ive smoked hovered around 20%

Right now ive got some goodies though.

Flower: delicata grapes, wedding cake, green crack, blue dream, mochi, black maple, cap junkie, ice cream cake (gorgeous cut from a local hydroponic microlicense), and some diamond infused divorce cake shake I was given (actually smokes decently)

Dabs: tally mon bananas badder, raspberry parfait diamonds, gas tanker rosin, gsc live res sugar

Vapes:I have a duffle bag of samples I have that I'll never use but the stand outs are deffinately the key lime live res, Skunk live res, white fire live res, honey banana live res, jelly roller rosin, blue lemonade live res, gas tanker rosin, gdp live res, and strawberry cough live res.

Yea around 24% (which is really prolly more like 20 given the + - 10% range) seems to be the sweet spot but I am really liking this planet nerd ocean air which is like 34% TAC 29% THC (according to label of course)

Good to know it is possible they are honest -- that is wild the quality of pot has almost doubled in the last 25 yrs! (ill never get over the USB hash vapestick sci-fi value either lol)

That jealousy looks damn good - good grow!

Just an udate.

OZ Kush...wow, for GH, this is nice

this is what is left of the OZ Kush bud I got and smoked as soon as I got home and didn't take a picture yet, but will try get some more tomorrow.
This is why I am posting this as it is so nice and I am pleasantly surprised.


Jealousy, haven't had today, but it's from same batch I recently posted about here.

RS11 will try later, this OZ Kush is kicking my ass.
