Hey Bluelight, we are currently recruiting for moderators at this time, in a few different sub forums. If you are passionate about harm reduction, willing to work alongside a team of many different people, and would like to contribute to the website and help keep things operational here for the long term, I encourage you to apply.
You don't need to have 50,000 posts or any kind of reputation one way or the other, just a genuinely helpful disposition and a history of supporting the people in our community who are looking for information or support. Ideally, a moderator will be able to check into the site and check the reported posts of your sub forum at least 2-3 times a week.
To apply, send in an application to myself or any other member of senior staff, ie. @alasdairm @Cheshire_Kat @Skorpio @ghostfreak @Pissed_and_messed @someguyontheinternet @VerbalTruist
The application doesn't need to be a lengthy essay, but it should include a couple things:
- a brief summary of your history with the site
- why you're interested in harm reduction or mental health support
- where you're from (generally speaking, like country or time zone)
In the future, we will be introducing a volunteer agreement that all of our volunteers will have to sign with their username, it's just legalese contract terms really. We can send that to you if you request. So you should be willing to sign that with your username when the time comes.
