Question for all of you that take prescribed sleep meds. What’s the best one you’ve taken ? I’ve tried several otc meds and a couple prescribed sleep meds trazodone and maybe one other. What’s some recommendations you guys have ?

I like Lunesta, if you are asking strictly about sleep. Ambien works OK, but I wake up wide awake after about 4 hours. The Lunesta doesn't really give a "high", which is an advantage if just using it for sleep.

These two Z-Drugs are close. Analysis of objective parameters assessed by polysomnography showed that eszopiclone increased total sleep time and also improved sleep efficiency. This was tested at Eszopiclone 3mg vs Zopiclonen7.5mg

Zopiclone (Imovane, Zimovave, Dopareel) -- 3.75mg and 7.5mg
Lunesta (Eszopiclone) -- 1mg, 2mg, and 3mg

List is an informative link about both drugs :

Zopiclone is not available in the US, after Ambein 10mg was not working I switched to Lunesta 3mg for long-tetm insomnia treatment with very good results. Over the years I have added a custom dosage schedule with the Lunesta 3mg, that is Clonidine 0.3mg-0.6mg, Vistaril PAM 100mg.

I take quetiapine @ 300 mg, Clonidine @ 2 mg , and zopiclone @ 15 mg. I’m working on a taper plan with my dr right now cause I’m sick of needing all the meds. But if you’re in the US def ambien would work, but as a recovering addict speaking to another just be mindful. There was nights I’d take double or triple the zopiclone I was supposed to and I ended up grabbing dope after cause it does sort of give you a buzz even though it’s technically non narcotic . Ambien is similar. It’s benzo-like but I don’t get withdrawals like I would with a benzo

Just eat a bowl of ice cream. You will be surprised. :p

On the medical question. We would need to know your history, age, country, is the aid needed for falling asleep, is the aid needed for staying asleep, after effects on awakening, other medications(prescribed and not prescribed)... etc

Oh, and for sleep or for relaxation/recreation?

Not asking for you to answer any of the above, except the ones you know are relevant to your question. If any. 😇

IMO the answers you get or are looking for lack more information from your end.

I use Seroquel, also known by its generic name quetiapine

I was using ~ Ziprasidone, also known by the brand name Geodon ~ which caused severe pain in the right front part of my brain

The Seroquel works pretty good ~ someone told me about it years ago so I asked for it by name because my healthcare provider like to prescribe abominations that cause suffering instead of just being benevolent

I prefer Cannabis ~ But I would have to grow that and I can't grow in my apartment ~ I eat decarboxylated Cannabis so as to not destroy my lungs by smoking ~ I also do lucid dream work and most Cannabis blocks my dreams ( which is a good thing if you are plagued by nightmares ) ~ but I was growing a really good daytime strain that still allowed me to sleep if I let the trichomes mature ~ and it also made me have good dreams ( that's right a strain the promotes dreaming & blocks nightmares )

I can't take a 100mg tablet of the quetiapine without sleeping 12 to 16 hours ~ and it kicks in pretty much immediately when you take it ~ I have to crush the pill and weigh the powder on digital scales so I don't sleep too long ~ I'm taking about 0.143 grams

the doctor says she has people who take 800 mg ~ they must be dead zombies

I’ve heard a lot of good things about seroquel for sure

I take 15mg diazepam
15mg of zopiclone
.4mg of clonidine (bp med)

I have trazadone but prefer not to take it.

Temazepam, xanax and zops was my favourite mix

Seroquel can be great when used for sleep. I found the less I took, the better I slept - which took me forever to get used to because I really don’t have that ‘less is more’ approach with basically anything. Let along drugs. But 25-50mg was farrrrr better than 100mg+

I wasn’t a fan of ambien. It never put me to sleep. Kept me kinda wired in some odd way. Restless mostly.

CBD oil, diazepam, clonidine and zops. Final answer I think.

Someone gave me trazadone and it stopped up my sinuses ~ I would have to be a mouth breather to take Trazadone ~ my evil health care provider likes to give me evil stuff like that ~ they are malevolent to the core ~ everything they give me ~ I have to tell them I'm not taking that ~

they keep trying to get me to take zombie meds during the daytime and I keep telling them I would rather take Desoxyn during the day ~ I refuse to take sleep meds during the daytime

they refuse to give me anything good for the daytime  ~~ I couldn't believe they actually let me get Seroquel ~ they just want me to zombie all day on it though ~ but I refuse

At doses that high, they’re more than likely taking it for some psychiatric reason (mania from bipolar for example), rather than just for sleep.
Their life is probably so miserable that they have no desire to live ~ they're probably just trying to sleep through it until death comes

they accuse me of being schizophrenic because i don't like evil bullshit ~ that's why I get the Seroquel ~ because mentally ill people don't have the right to bear arms ~ it's a gun grabber move

I let them call me names for $4000.00 tax free every month but I lose the right to bear arms ~ at least I'm retired

Well, I recommend lunesta. I also didn’t do well with ambien; it kept me awake. Lunesta is interesting because it doesn’t cause any of the benzo disinhibition benzos cause. I’ve taken benzos to sleep only to binge on something all night and not get any sleep. Sometimes I wonder if I forgot to take it lunesta the onset is so subtle, but then I wake the next morning. Also, no hangover,
When I’m having a bad night, I also use tetrahydropalmatine. Some corydalis extracts work well too, but THP is better.

I know people who liked to take what I would consider a very, very high dose … like 800mg+. They were doing it to get high or some shit. It was a long time ago.

For some people it’s given them their lives back… for others it doesn’t work so well at all. Plus it has a tendency to cause weight gain. Ohhhh boy. When I was on seroquel, 50mg had me eating 4 small horses a day. Crazy.

You could try the trazadone again. This time get some mouth spray or some quick melts. It MAY be worth a try. If it happens again.. fuck it.

I wish clonidine could endorse me because I seriously think it’s useful for almost everything lol I take .04mg in the evening with my other meds and it makes sleeping quite nice. I can pop one in the day a get a couple hour nap if I want to. They have very similar effects to diazepam.
