Benzos Best benzo for anxiety + sleep

I have an event tomorrow evening that is majorly stressing me out. I don't want to take anything for the event (it's a date, actually). But I know I am not going to be able to sleep tonight due to the anxiety over tomorrow night. So I want to take something tonight that will both relax me and let me sleep through the night so I am rested for this very stressful date. My choices are a 5 mg valium or a .5 xanax. Both are expired.

Personally, I find diazepam to be a far better benzo than xanax. Diazepam has a much longer half life. If you don’t take benzos often, I’d go with the diazepam.

xanax hits harder but the effects wear off within a few hours. I’d get sleepy for like 2 hours then just want more. The rebound anxiety isn’t fun.

That is kind of what I was thinking. I don't want to wake up at 3 am and not be able to take anything else.

The gold standard benzo for the scenario you're in is Diazepam if not then take Lorazepam. Good luck with your date! I envy you.

I get complete relief from anxiety with Diazepam, I also get some other nice recreational effects too such as things just feeling so smooth, so nice to run my hands through my hair (sounds weird but I do it for hours without realising), just a real nice wavey vibe without the foggy head. Although, typically this would take more then 10mg - more like 40/50mg.

If you are benzo-naive DO NOT start with a dos of 40mg, take it light, slow and easy.

I find xanax a really weird substance - when I first came across the bars in the UK (they were legit, tested legit alprazolam Pfizer 2mg Xanax bars. Didn't crumble like chalk or anything) and I got such a nice buzz off the them, only problem is I would take more and more until blacking out and waking surrounded by chaos - front doors off the hinge, holes in walls, police attendance.

Now - I can get 1mg generic alprazolam pills (tested and confirmed alprazolam) and never catch a buzz, my anxiety completely goes but nothing else. It almost feels like they do nothing and are sugar pills or something, if I didn't have such a horrible anxiety disorder I would swear the test was wrong and they were bunk.

To the OP , both would work well if you have no tolerance. I prefer diazepam personally but I can’t see either of those doses being too strong as to fuck with your plans.

And btw the expiry date won’t mean anything as long as they were kept in a room temp, non humid environment.

diazepam is the best benzo in my opinion. always felt the smoothest, and most anxiolytic to the point where it felt euphoric. only other benzo that came close to that level of euphoria was etizolam

diazepam would be the better option will last longer and i just find overall just works longer and harder then xannax at that dose.

5 mg valium or a .5 xanax

I would have (without tolerance) taken .25mg alprazolam (Xanax) and 5mg diazepam (valium). One to put me to rest and the other to keep me there.
