Need Help Muscle Pain/Stiffness

So I have been on an Invega injection since last year and it has resulted in a lot of weight gain and now my muscles are all stiff and it hurts to move.

I am at work now and the pain is so bad.

I try to drink water and I am going to try yoga as well.

However, could it be the Invega injection causing the muscle stiffness or is it likely the result of being out of shape in general (again, the weight gain is due to the injection)?

I am going to talk with my Psychiatric Provider either way.

It’s most likely Invega that’s causing it, psychiatrists do prescribe other medicine for side effects such as restless legs and muscle stiffness.

One of them is Procyclidine.

Hot baths and saunas help as well.

Yes, I suggested a medication I have been on that didn’t cause weight gain and my provider agreed and prescribed it but it needed a Prior Authorization (when insurance needs to approve a Rx before paying for it) and the PA got denied because I don’t have a Schizophrenia Dx (I have a Psychotic Depression Dx).

I am going to ask about Saphris (generic) that does not need a PA which I have been on as well, I just don’t like the taste of it because it is sublingual but I can deal with it.

Hot baths have been helping and I think staying hydrated helps some, but not a ton. Not to the point where I feel this isn’t something I wouldn’t bring up with my provider.

Well, some hopefully good news, I just checked my messages from my Psychiatric Provider and she resubmitted the prior authorization using a Schizophrenia Dx.

So I now officially have that Dx on my records which is a good thing because it means I will be able to get approved for better medications.
