I can’t seem to get past day 5 or 6. All I do is sleep and eat. I feel like crap and so I use again to “right the ship” but then I’m back where I started.

Does anyone have any practical advice re: what/what not to eat, do, etc. to blunt the agony that is the withdrawal process?

Because I can’t miss work this likely needs to be a dyi proposition.

Working on days 2-7 is the shittiest feeling and I’ve had more than one emotional breakdown during this stretch. I dont think there’s much in the way to lessen the lethargy and just all around miserable head space so all freetime I’m sleeping as each rest time has passed quickly and counteracting the sleep deprivation that is major cause of agitation.
While the action itself is rarely taking and it’s not the least physically challenging is writing in a note book. Practice arguing with your inner critic and paying attention to which thoughts are positive and which aren’t.
Bottom line is it’s gonna suck but the inner work pays off even if you keep using

Can someone describe what meth or amphetamines withdrawal is like?

I just find “stress, fear, agitation, and depression” in the medical literature.

Are there physical symptoms? Can you compare it to opioid withdrawal in anyways?

Is there RLS? Digestive issues? Inability to sleep? (These are opioid symptoms)

Just curios because meth withdrawal I’ve heard ppl mention it but it doesn’t get talked about anywhere near as much as opioid withdrawal.

Be sure you're eating real food, not junk.
Vitamins help-- especially C & B-complex.
Drink LOTS of water..
Sleep is good.
Time is your best friend.

I found methamphetamine to be the easiest addiction to kick and the quickest to recover from.

yeah all above good advice

exercise is the best but i get it , its impossible to even get out of bed for a few days.

go easy on yourself. enjoy the food and sleep and drink lots. it will probably be sugary stuff at first. just enjoy that and slowly fix your diet as u feel better.

sun, exercise, rest, good foods and time.

i found it easier to break daily habit than cocaine daily habit.

Coffee is helpful as well (it was for me)!. But yes all of the above ^ :) Once you've gotten past that dreadful first week it starts to get better (exponentially but very very slowly at first). I found binge watching a show or gaming in spare time really helpful. And definitely try to face your inner critic. You just gotta keep pushing. You'll get there.

It's a lot more of a mental head-fuck honestly. Not much physical withdrawal, but malaise and anhedonia are pretty common as well.

Edit: I'd describe the first two weeks as your brain *screaming* for more meth just to get out of bed. Or looking for an excuse to use. The excuse period probably goes away 2-3 months in. Then you start getting some available/viable dopamine back. Then you start to level out from there.

I'd describe the withdrawal as being in dopamine deficit. Like your brain has just become dependent on external dopamine :( It's pretty messed up.

Im having some issues from using amphetamine sulphate for more than a year. Anxiety, little discomfort in the heart area that Im afraid off so this make me anxious too and sleeping few hours, every day I sleep but sometimes 3 hours max. My body is saying that is enough with that and sending me signals. Now I can stop or dive into a dangerous patch. I never stop any drug to zero when using for long time so I decided to do the less I can. Im doing some ket instead of amphets and its helping a lot. Yesterday was the first day I only did two very small lines of amphet but at 7 pm I was in bed and slept till 9 am. Wake up feeling like crap and snort 3 lines. One more line after lunch. Alpraz is helping too. Its first time I have a problem with amphets so any advice is welcome. Thanks for reading

Something like Benzedrine but in a nasal spray? Helps pace yourself.

Also, very discreet.

My personal time frame varies depending how far in I was. I tend to start feeling alive and emotionally stable after 10 days to 2 weeks. You have most likely to find yourself sleep, healthy food and hydration. The only way to mend yourself is with lots of sleep, healthier foods, lots of water and possibly electrolytes. If you have a significant other and they are aware of your attempt and getting clean, talk about the probable mood swings and the extra sleep. Probably best to do that before you are in the midst of it. My emotions are all over the place when I'm cleaning out. I've heard other users call it dope sick but it's mostly exhaustion and mood swings that are worse than a hormonal 14 year old. Hang in there. It takes a bit to realize how much better your body and mind feel. Your almost there, you got this

I suggest thinking about what you are or have been passionate about or have emotional investment in/with. *** Do this when you feel your doc losing effect on you *** (there will be multiple effects) ***
The memories you'll be pondering on will have a set of footprints, much like muscle memory, and can lead to a period of ease shedding tears. The tears are what I'm suggesting since crying can release natural chemicals in the brain that cause the body to relax, help ditch the muscle tension, and allow your mucous membranes and tear ducts to use natural moisturizers and fluids, part of the bodily systems you can (and should IMHO) reactivate ASAP.
Control what you do and don't let what you do control you. Because introducing this set of particular toxins to your insides is going to turn on a few things, turn off 5× a few things, and require weeks worth of time, which is where having something you're passionate about achieving, have an emotional investment in, and/or simply hope for in your lifetime will be what gets you past the present 5-6 day week and into your second+ future week(s).
