Our nature is destroying our eco system.
We are in time of a major extinction event of human origin that might include a drastic change from the peace we have enjoyed to continuous war, as peoples become dislocated thanks to our collective ecological abuse.

Stupid is as stupid does.

but whatever humans do, some part of nature will survive.
it always has, and that's what i mean with 'nature is capable of ruling itself'.
there is balance in nature.
but humans are arrogant, so it will be humanity that will eventually fall off the scales.
good riddance.

but until then i choose to exist as an individual, and to set my own values and ethic codes.
and for me there is no sin, and only very little regret.
only mistakes to learn from.

how do you define when an ecosystem is destroyed? the great oxygenation event killed off many species yet the change allowed for different life to fluorish

I leave the definitions to the experts. That is there job.

My job and duty is to listen to them and act against the human nature that is having us be too self centered and ignoring our poor direction.

You are right that life will flourish regardless of us humans being here or not.

We are forgetting to think of the future of our children.

This is not good for humans.
