Bupe Butrans makes me nervous

What I like about the Butrans is that it is still extremely effective at the same dose as 8 years ago. I am still getting good analgesia and I am not craving full mu opioids like I used to.

Then it's likely the best you will get.

At low doses it's possible for other opioids to deal with 'breakthorugh pain' but 8 years you say? Seems like it works.

But to be clear, if onsominia bites, don't wait UNTIL you have tonic-clonic seizures. I did and spend two weeks in hospital where a consultant simply replace the buprenorphine for oxycodone. The fact they offered NO explaination does rather suggest that it's SUPPOSED to be a known side-effects,

For me, almost fatal. But one person't experiences isn't of statistical value.

You know what @tryptakid - all of these partial agonists, biased agonists and so on. At the end of the day, euphoria regarded as a 'side-effect' of strong opioids is crazy.

Had a friend who had a heart attack in Manchester. Lucky a local GP was close and able to inform emergency servicies that it WAS a cardial infraction. As a result the ambulance was the famous Whiskey-1. Mean nothing? They fitted a Rolls Royce V12 engine to an ambulance and had doctors rather than paramedics man it. People who had all the best medicines specifically to treat heart failures.

All I can tell you is the even before the golden hour had gone, we all knew the outcome. But my friend DID say that diamorphine had made him feel 'great' and I think that is fair - someone about to die should get the best.

Brompton cocktail, sometimes called Brompton mixture or Brompton's cocktail, was an elixir meant for use as a pain suppressant dosed for prophylaxis. I am presuming your age based on your academic career but if I am still around when your time comes, I can 100% promise that I will rock up with a couple of dozen diamorphine hydrochloride 100mg amps and, well, I guess it's sirs pleasure. If it makes your time more valuable, why not.

I hope you don't think it creepy, but many people have told me some quite amazing things in the last day of their lives. I would like to record that, but on the other hand, it would be YOUR words and not mine, so I wouldn't try to cash in on it.

As I see it 'mate in pain, have meds to stop pain and airfare to reach them' so why wouldn't I? Money comes, money goes, friends matter far, far more.

40s - I was a diacetylmorphine/heroin addict in my 20s and I've often said that at the end of my life if I was heading for the door I'd reconsider it. Ampules of pure diamorphine sound like a delightful way to go gently into that good night.
