Is there a way to utilize the search engine to only return threads started by user, and if not, could that feature be implemented?

@alasdairm - isn't the follow user function also a way to get notifications of a user's future comments/posts? I have actually never really used it, but thought it might be useful if someone wants to continue to see someone's content.

Are you trying to get more BL members in trouble? I seem to remember getting a point from an overzealous mod, you, for almost no reason.
You sold out to be enslaved; to shut down free speech; if it is not appoved.( opposite of what free speech stands for) Most of the interesting posters are gone.

Let me retort.
Nothing happened to the Lounge. And I am digging in to see what happened to CEPS. From what I see it is only temporary closed. I have not been one of the regular customers so have been out of the loop.
I can guess a bit. I see all the reported posts. Most from CEPS everyday. Funny how a lot of people screaming free speech will report another person's post. lol Even from you JN. So I think the mods have to catch their breath. (and that is my guess).
Free speech only works if decency is attached to it. Decency would include truth to it too. Otherwise it is shit slinging show and not decent. If someone feels that it was not indecency, but an idea that was shot down they can report their own posts and they do. Then it is discussed with cool heads. Both past and current staff do care, that I can say. Sometimes one reported post is dissected by several mods. Sometimes they disagree too but with decency you know? I can say it is considered.
tryptakid is a good man. So when someone reports one of your posts JN it has to be looked into. If you report a post it IS looked into. I have seen resolution to some of the posts that you reported. And yes it is usually someone saying something shitty and uncalled for and getting a warning. Would be nice if we all looked at what we are about to post and see if it harms or has decency. I get it, some people deserve a crap response. With politics we all get heated so that is where the most posts are reported. By you guys.
JN, you have shared some ailments and other things with the board and I would come to your defense if someone was not decent to you. It is pretty simple. Sometimes you have to trust the info you throw out is in decent hands at least. Who would come here without decency? I know there are individual issues with people that go beyond this but I am out of the loop. So it must be detailed. And I am sure there is lot I do not see. I can address what I do see.
But yeah if people drink or do drugs and post it get heated it makes work for the mods. If someone said "Jnowhere you are a BLAH BLAH" and you reported it, it would be looked at. And again, people reported 5-6 posts a day for CEPS.
That is my last response on this so you all can have the last word.
But my guess is sometimes an idea can be shot down as indecency. But if reported will be dissected and trust me, not all mods agree.

Not necessarily. Theres a section in your settings for notifications. There are a variety of things you can adjust, most with the option to include "everyone" "people I follow" or "only me" (or something like that).

However I got points for fighting back. They called me whatever and I fought back and they were not punished, just me. Yes When I got punished for being attacked and fighting back, I bitched. Where Is my justice. Only the left, gets breaks. Me never. I was trolled 2 days and I finally called one of mods/ administator out and because he was on drugs and he got nothing and I got a couple of days off, of my one month suspension and the staff member who was on a drug binge got nothing. He tormented me tillI asked him if was on drug binge? He was and I got a one month suspension. There and 3 other undeserved points. One was a set up. Yep they tried shaming me. A group joined in a mod on here got away as I was set up and suspended for a while. That is why I bitch. Then here comes alastair to yell at me.

I seem to recall a pretty long and thoughtful discussion you and I had over DM regarding this issue, which also lead to a lot of other cool discussions between us.
I don't think of you as anything other than another person on here - I don't see you as 'right wing' or 'religious' or any of the projections you put on me and others - I've tried to be friendly with you and share stuff about myself while asking you about yourself.
I'd rather you treated me the same way rather than coming up with some story in your head.
I'm sorry you got pointed, maybe try being less hostile when you post on the forum in ways that violate the user agreement here. I don't know what to tell you. There are plenty of conservative, religious posters without any warnings, and there are plenty of liberal atheists who have accumulated points.

I only ever reported mods who in some ridiculous way banned me.

Nope. The "follow" is completely useless. It literally has no feature or function. You don't get notified of anything. Literally, it does nothing whatsoever.

It is a lot of clutter and is cumbersome. But I do like clutter. I have some collector in my nature.
But other than that follow just, it builds up and is a space consumer plus another keystroke. All in all it's basically
like collecting stamps to me lol. Me, I don't even like to change an avatar often ... because it's ' work. '
The website itself seems to function efficiently and just a minor inconvenience of trying to find the
lounge which you have to log in to find. But that just makes it more interesting.
But seriously, I go all over the internet and the website here itself is no more effective or not effective than anywhere
else. Of course everywhere else will have it's own format. Sometimes it depends on how a signal is being picked up
or how you choose to get the connection or the signal unless you get a high speed internet but these days with
all of the traffic that seems to be just a scam for high speed somewhat.
The only thing that slows me down lol most of the time is searching for information
because there is so much of it. Other than that so far yada yada k !!
