Personal experiences with transferring from MMT to Subs.

Sorry for the lack of experience but I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. MMT has ruined my life. I tried to get off after getting my daily side down to 15 but couldn’t make it a week. Brings me to my next point. To be eligible to start Subs I need a week off of Methadone which is impossible for me.
I’ve always wondered why Subutex is not used in this case but maybe I missed something along the way with its MOA.
If I end up using to bridge a gap I’ll just keep going until I get into a 28-program and clean up for good. I’m sick of all of it.

Isn't the required time off methadone more like 2-3 days?

Looking at GoodRx prices 4-18-25 a cheaper price of a 30 day supply of 120 mgpd of methadone is just under 17$ US WO insurance a month.

Using the same discount card we see that monthly suboxone for an eight mg strip is around 80 $US.

This is just to estimate as it’s available in bulk, but i don’t know how those regulations work.

The Methadone dose has no set dose ceiling while the sub does.

I went from 150mg to subs. I hadto becauss i had warrents in a county that absolutely does not do any form of mmt. Intention was to get the sublocade shot but i got picked up while i was on suboxone.

I tapered 10mg a week until 30mg. Took 5 days off methadone and ate a few percs and heavily used stimulants... then took 1mg pieces of sub every few hours until i had 8mg in my system and adter that i was good.

It wasnt so bad until i hit 50mg. Then it sucked.

what happened at 50mgs?
 
usual opioid withdrawal stuff atartes to become more pronounced.... chills ,watery eyes, lethargic, anxiety. Sleep took a nosedive and hit and miss nights with rls. Then 50 to 40 within a couple days it became worse... 40 to 30 was a nightmare. And when i stopped alltogether i was so afraid of precipitated withdrawal i blasted meth hardcore for 5 days straight ( i dont recxomend, lack of aleep and stress brought me to psychosis), but i did manage to make the switch.
 
I’m about to make the jump.
