Pregabalin trip or something else?

Been a while since i posted on here but here goes.

I am on a lot of meds for various things and now Pregabalin for another issue.

Today I took my morning med in the afternoon and my evening meds early.
I started tripping 30 mins later. Eye shivering, disassociating. Eyes closed, visulals. Very much like Ket.
Decided to get to bed asap and ride it out. For an unwanted trip was a bit annoying but the ride was OK. Fell asleep and woke after 6 hours.

My question is was this the pregabalin or something else?

Only 600 mg. Taken.

Started pregabalin 10 days ago. 300mg B D

Pregabalin (Lyrica) is not typically known for producing psychedelic or dissociative experiences on its own. However, it is a drug known for producing side effects that one could call "strange" in that it's a drug with effects that are difficult to accurately pin down. Some experience Pregabalin as essentially stimulatory, while others experience it as a depressant. There are people who take Pregabalin 9 times and on the 10th time they have a seizure for seemingly no explainable reason.

With that being said, large combinations of different drugs contribute exponentially to the possibility of unpredicted side effects. If you're taking other psychoactive drugs and then you take 600mg Pregabalin on top of that cocktail, no, it doesn't surprise me that you could have a vaguely dissociative weird experience in the process. It would track with what I know and my own personal experience with the drug.
 
That is an absolute shit ton of a dose, damn. That's equivalent to more than 3g of Gabapentin. "only" 600, dude that's a really high dose for preg. Who was willing to prescribe you such an insanely high dose? You normally wouldn't see that unless someone suffers from really, really severe nerve pain or something.

Either way, Gabapentin or this act as "chameleon drugs" in a sense. You can get a variety of effects from it. Gabapentin many times for me has felt a lot like a few grams of shrooms or something. Closed eye visuals, definitely. Hell, it's even felt like MDMA. I kinda feel that right now lol from just 1500mg. I'm prescribed 1200 a day but I often just won't take any so that I can stock up for a weekend stagger or somethin' like that.

But I never took a dose beyond 2700mg, because I nearly smashed my head open that time. And you're on a dose that's way higher than that. 600mg of preg = 3-3,500mg of Gabapentin. That amount of Gabapentin alone would have someone so unbelievably fucked up lol. I would probably be hallucinating.

Only the highest possible suggested dose. You'd have to go to some sketchy country probably to find it in any higher amount lol. I've found nothing on 700mg of this stuff, it maxes out at 600. This makes sense, considering Gabapentin is supposed to max out around 3.5g, and 600mg = around 3-3.5g.

I gotta warn you OP: Abusing Preg/Lyrica in general can lead to major tooth decay because of the dry mouth.

not to mention coming off of it, when i came off gabs, i sweated profusely more than any opiate withdrawal lol. i can’t imagine coming off 600mg of pregabs.

I don't know about you but that is exactly my experience, it fucks me up proper on high doses and everything is beautiful and there is this "droning" feeling. (pörisevä probably tells more to finnish speakers)

My meds for the day are various. However other than Lamotrigine, I wouldn’t expect to have any interactions, as they are all various heart meds, asprin, beta blockers, angina meds, Allopurinol, diabetic med, cholesterol med, oh and Lansoprazole.

So not sure how it would affect any of them.

The reason for the pregabalin is a spinal injury. So that’s for neuropathic pain. I also have morphine for break out pain but did not use any yesterday. I also have clonazepam at night for my epilepsy but that would have been 18 hours after last dose and is only .5mg and I am on a break for tolerance.

So not sure what went on but was happy to ride it out and the closed eye visuals were very much like Ket. So happy with that. 😂😂😂

It’s for neuropathic pain after a spinal injury and my upper limit will be 600 is my lead did does is not effective. Still debating its effectiveness to be honest.
Also as I can’t take a break with it, I am not sure I will want to continue as I am not a fan of building a tolerance to any drug.

What was your doctors argumentation for daily administration? You can take pregabalin intermittently in some cases, but I can not say anymore without hearing what your doctor thought about that.

Clonazepam is for night time seizures due to epilepsy had them for years but only .5 mg.
Pregabalin for my spinal injury and morphine for breakthrough pain. Saves me being in hospital which I have not long been out off. Free’s up a bed.

I think you’ll be more impressed that I also get Satavex for me MS though 😉

It’s because two of my vertebra are toast trapping a nerve causing server constant pain. Waiting on a surgical remedy. But would rather be in my own bed near my own toilet seat than being in hospital. I am not a fan of drug therapy where I can avoid it. However my body is now pretty much trashed. Also I am not ready to give up yet. I am still naughty when I can be 😉

Defo no desire to experiment with it, I have researched it and the long term outlook is not something that I am keen on. Also I am already preparing a tapered reduction and have asked and been given the tools to do that. I’m also using my morphine for the worst breakthrough pain as I am not a fan of taking any opioids long term. I am hoping for a surgical remedy sooner rather than later so this should be a short term thing.
Hopefully I can get fixed and back off the pregabalin.
 
I only got typical effects from lyrica but i know people who hae gotten weird effects. So they can happen. My friend gets fulll blown hallucinations from lyrica
