I suppose one 'gets' Neu! or one does not. But I would have happily swapped being a teenager in Manchester for being a teenager in Dusseldorf circa 1971. I splurged some £34 for an original Brain pressing of the record. No idea what it's worth now. But my god, while we were doing the hippy to anodyne move, the West German musicians were speedfreaks on a mission to transmit to the galaxy.
