Can’t feel effects of Oxycodone

Hi! I have been hospitalized several times since I fell in December and broke all the metatarsals and toes in my left foot. During the same fall I broke my right ankle which resulted in ankle fusion surgery.

I was non weight bearing from December until March 5th. I was admitted to a rehab hospital to receive PT and OT. I am able to walk with a walker now.

Anyway for pain I was given 5mgs Oxycodone PRN every 4 hours at the rehab hospital. I never felt a buzz even when I saved my doses and took 20-25mgs. I hadn’t taken or was prescribed anything since February. And I don’t use anything at home. Has anyone heard of this?

I ssked the Doctor to change my pain med to Vicodin…same thing happened. Then I asked him for Tylenol 3…I finally felt that warm hug

Not everyone likes opiates or gets any likable effects from them. You might be one them. It's normal.

It's the prolonged release man that was sort of the downfall of oxy. If I remember correctly you can suck on the pill or put in isopropyl alcholol to dissolve the extended release coating. This was in like 2012 - 2014 though I'm sure it has changed.
