This is not the usual "trip report" but I thought it important to write about this after having to dredge through so much bullshit about this drug both on the internet and with the local medical community. I was already sure the most GPs in my local area are clueless and useless drug pushers. But this experience has all but confirmed it. Having to self treat for this was incredibly frustrating even more so when I attempted to seek out advice and information on the internet in 2025. Thankfully, a wealth of knowledge (that I guess GPs don't read anymore) was available through medical papers and organizations in "third world countries" and I was able to source the drug(s) I needed to treat myself very cheaply through non-human channels.

After returning back home from a stint where I was forced to share living space with frankly nasty and insane people I had noticed I was not feeling very well. I was sucking down aspirin like it was going out of style, I was alternating between being bloated and constipated and having horrible diarrhea despite taking kratom near daily (I'm an addict, what can I say). I was regularly sick on the stomach and my belly had turned in a pot belly despite not being "fat" or regularly drinking beer. I was craving sugar hard and no matter how much I ate I always became hungry within an hour or so. I always woke up with a horrible cough which I thought was just years of smoking catching up with me. People around me said this was just part of middle age. But I felt so horrible compared to a few years ago that I didn't want to accept that as an excuse. My hair was also starting to turn white in places only to return to its normal color if I yanked those white hairs out. Something was horribly wrong with me.

Against my better judgement I went to a GP that I am not a fan of (he's a dumb fuck). All the usual tests were run. He found nothing. He tried to put me on anti-depressants and said my problems were just in my head. The usual spiel. With him. I pretended to accept his advice, fill the prescription then promptly tossed it in a drawer with the legions of other pills he's attempted to give me over the years. None of which are good (or fun).

A few weeks later I got my answer to what was wrong with me. I had been sucking down enough kratom for general pain around that time that I was frankly full of shit. So I was in the bathroom for awhile attempting to push out a massive log. As is my usual habit when I push out something I think might be impressive I sneak a peek at it before wiping and flushing it down to the septic tank. I noticed there was an odd looking bore hold coming out of one side of it. Like someone had taken a drill to it. I thought this was odd but didn't think more of it and flushed. I jumped in the shower because I had some place to be in about an hour and wanted to smell my best.

My usual habits in the shower are as such: Head, shoulders, arms, body, legs, feet, arm pits, then I address my dick and balls and finally my asshole. Asshole is always last for obvious reasons. I was in the shower about 20 minutes like usual. When I went to lather up my asshole I was met with a surprise.

A large white round worm about 6 inches or more long was suck to my butt hole. I first felt it through the wash cloth and being unsure what it might be I had to reach in with bare hands and grab it. It was folded over and obviously dead. At first I was unsure what I was looking at. But I'd seen these worms before when I de-wormed my cats and dogs over the years. I was disgusted. I had worms living inside of me and I knew there must be a ton of them if once came out on its own. I should have bagged it up and saved it to prove the GP wrong. But in my haste I dropped it and it went down the drain never to be seen again.

I finished up and left to my appointment. I wasn't really paying attention to anything happening because the worms were on my mind. I thought about the old Pink Floyd song, could the worms be eating into my brain? I wonder...once I got home I stayed up half the night researching worms and related parasites.

I decided that I must have something called Ascariasis (a roundworm called Ascaris lumbricoide). It fit all the symptoms and would explain my horrible morning coughing (it causes lung symptoms and being coughed up and swallowed is part of its life cycle). I also discovered that my parasite load much be very heavy. It was time to figure out what I needed to do to get rid of my uninvited guests.

There were several drugs and dosing guidelines suggested. Most of which were impossible to get unless I went through a GP or paid big money at a vet. I really wanted something OTC because I'd read tons of horror stories about people going to GPs for worms only to get referrals to shrinks and a blight on their medical records. Tons and tons of threads on places like reddit where smug know-nothings claim "We don't have worms in America!". As is this one country is cleaner than all the others or something. If I were anywhere else in the world I could have gotten what I needed for free. Even chocolate flavored! But I live in a hell hole run by "big pharma" where everything costs an arm and leg.

Looking around it seemed like ivermectin was my best bet. I could buy it cheaply OTC at the farm supply store. It didn't seem like it had many side effects. It only required one small dose with maybe a follow up dose a few weeks later. But this sent me down another massive rabbit hole on the internet. It seems like this drug has become very popular with both sides of the idiot consortium as of late. There were people claiming it cured cancer. People claiming they were taking upwards to 100mg a day. People claiming that it was totally useless. People claiming that even the smallest amount would kill me. People claiming that the kind for animals was somehow different than the kind that come in tablets for humans. There was ZERO useful information. But somehow somewhere among all this noise I found a jewel. It required using a Russian search engine and very carefully selected search terms. But on some far away blog someone actually posted something of value.

I set off to the farm supply store to pretend I owned a horse. When I got there I was sad to discover that the brand I wanted to buy was sold out. Seems we have a bunch of fans of apple flavored horse dewormer where I live. A cute little girl that was a big fan of horses rung me up. She commented on how popular this item was and tried to helpfully advise me to buy another brand (with multiple drugs in it) to kill "all the worms". She wanted to know what kind of horse I owned. I lied and told her that I was buying this for a cow. A half truth. I do own a cow but I'd never deworm it with paste (we inject them instead). Embarrassed and not wanting to admit that I was taking this myself I got out of there as quickly as possible.

I did some quick math to figure out how much ivermectin was in each squirt of this paste/syringe. I knew it wouldn't be 100% exact because it could have settled or otherwise not be equally distributed. But I figured it would be pretty close. I took the total weight of the paste and divided and multiplied until I figured out every notch on the plunger was about 4mg of ivermectin. Then I converted my current body weight to kg and I had my dose. About 12-14mg. I squirted out some of the paste, scraped the end level on the syringe, then squirted out three more notches worth on a rolling paper. I wrapped the paste in said paper then swallowed it like a tablet. I waited to see what would happen.

T+3 hours: All of a sudden I feel like I can breath again. Despite smoking like a freight train it's like I'm sucking down air for the first time. I'm hopeful that I'll wake up tomorrow and not be dead. I retire to bed.

T+11-12 hours: After a restful sleep I wake up surprised that I'm 1) not coughing up my lungs as usual and 2) not really feeling opioid withdrawal. I even hold off on taking kratom for several hours hoping that I'll pass the worms in my guts quickly. But I'm full of shit as usual from taking it so often. Instead of going to the bathroom right away like usual it takes many hours before I have a bowel movement. I inspect the logs and there are no worms in them. This is probably going to take away I guess. I read it could be as much as 10 days. I return to my normal routine.

T+24-120 hours: Not much to report other than I'm still feeling much better. Still no cough in the morning. Bowel movements are normal. I've seen no worms in my poop either. No major side effects from the ivermectin to report either. Maybe a very slight fever on day 2 and day 3 but not enough that I'm concerned. I chalk it up to parasite die off and not the drug itself. Most restful sleep I've had in years. Appetite has returned to normal. No craving for sugar even soda tastes overly sweet. Diet is now mostly whole foods and some meat instead of bread, candy, ice cream and pizza.

T+142 hours: I woke up and instantly knew I should probably find a place to have a bowel movement soon. My guts are bubbling and gurgling, no pain but I _really_ need to go. No cough either. I have a small dose of kratom and light up a smoke.

I'm on the toilet for at least 45 minutes and it just won't stop coming. Very loose stool. I had to flush 3 times. Stool consisted of some digested food and tons of half digested worms and pieces of worms. I know it isn't my "intestinal lining" like the fear mongers on the internet claim as I've seen that before from sticking drugs that I shouldn't have up my poop shoot. There are so many worms. I would post a picture but that'd be gross (and I didn't take one anyway).

After finishing up I notice that my pot belly is now gone. I'm flat enough to model swimsuits again. I'm _very_ hungry so I make breakfast. I lounge around for the rest of the morning. Around noon I have to go again and expel more worms. I must have had a really high parasite load. I bet these little fuckers have been stealing over half of the food I've been eating for years.

The story ends here as it's still in progress. I plan to take another 12-14mg dose of ivermectin in a week and a half. Then another maybe a month or so later. This is because it only kills adult worms and not their eggs or the larva. Which are no doubt raging through my system right now. I also plan to do a deep clean of the house. I've told people I've been in close contact with that they should probably deworm themselves too since I've no doubt been spreading the eggs around for years. Most roll their eyes and say they'd know if they had them. Well I don't think they would considering I was carrying them around for months or years without being aware of it. I plan to do at least twice yearly doses for the rest of my life. As I doubt it's possible to avoid getting infected again.

I am mostly posting this in the hopes that it will be helpful to someone so they don't have to go through all the trouble I went through. After talking with several doctors I know through fidonet all have told me that this is pretty common and everyone should be deworming at least once a year (once in early spring and again at the end of summer or in winter). This information has kind of been lost in the past few generations in the west. As my Great Grandmother's generation was very concerned about worms and that's the reason they'd often force the entire family to choke down things like castor oil. People say you can get by with stuff like pumpkin seeds and garlic instead. I'm not sure how well those kind of things work. But I do love garlic and plan to eat it more often going forward in my life.

I can not stress how much better I feel compared to just a week ago. All the symptoms that have been plaguing me for the last year and a half are gone. No more coughing. No more wheezing at night. No more pot belly. Haven't taken aspirin in days. I'm not longer constipated even when I take opioids. I no longer crave sugar. Even the pain in my joints I've suffered with for years has gone away. This truly is a miracle drug and it's a miracle that we even have it. You should read about the discovery of ivermectin some time. It was found in some soil in Japan and despite looking all over the world they've never been able to find it again. I hope it's never pulled from the market or no longer available OTC. I was very happy that I could buy it and it has reduced my suffering while living in this horrible place called Earth by at least a little bit. Although I do not buy into the claims that it can cure cancer or prevent certain viruses it wouldn't surprise me to find out that it's useful for things other than killing unwanted free loaders living inside our bodies.

Take care.

P.S: I forgot to mention this above but I wanted to add that within several hours of taking a dose of this drug it was like a "brain fog" had lifted. I don't know how best to describe it. It was like I'd been dumber than I was supposed to be for the last several years without realizing it. Kind of like the "brain fog" I had when I was taking methadone for many months to manage my opioid addiction. Perhaps the worms were really in my brain too.

I should also add that it's possible that parasite die off can cause seizures and other horrible effects depending on where they're living in your body. Once the worms die your body will start to attack them and things like your brain, living, kidneys, gallbladder and other organs can get caught in the cross fire. I took a risk by treating these at home without being watched over by someone with the proper equipment to do a full work up and manage such symptoms should they have appeared. I would have been overjoyed to have access to that kind of level of medical care. However, I am both too poor and in my experience the medical care where I live is very bad and the people in charge of managing it aren't very smart. You should spend a lot of time reading before attempting to self treat worms like I have. Best of luck to you dear reader.

I’m glad you’re feeling better but have you researched if this drug works so quickly and even if it did kill the worms that quickly I’m surprised you would feel different within hours of taking it

It reaches peak plasma concentration after 4 hours in most subjects on an empty stomach. My metabolism has always ran a little faster than most. The reason it's effective for worms is because it causes them to become paralyzed. Once they're paralyzed the chemicals they secrete to prevent the host's immune system from recognizing them stop being produced. So it's not surprising to me that the lung symptoms I was having eased off. I didn't go into a lot of detail about those but I was waking up with horrible cough and heavy thick mucus in lungs/throat for many months prior to this. I was also waking up in the middle of the night for several months wheezing. It was like having a mild pneumonia that would never pass.

Very bad coughing would happen upon waking which would last for hours and could only be calmed down with consumption of kratom (a mild opioid) which I'm sure you know causes mild respiratory depression. I had gotten used to the routine of: waking up, coughing for 1-2 hours, taking kratom within 15 minutes of waking then waiting over an hour for it to start working before I would stop coughing. The coughing was so bad I was regularly throwing up from it from time to time.

Also 3 hours post administration is a bit of an estimate. I took the drug at around 9pm at night. I stayed up until about 2am that morning. I know I started to feel better and my breathing became less labored sometime between midnight and when I went to bed. It was like I'd taken a steroid or something. I could feel oxygen getting into places it hadn't been in awhile. My lungs had opened up. Much like the brain fog I'd been living with it for so long that I didn't notice how labored my breathing was during the day for the past several months/years.

I'm still smoking my usual amount of cigarettes everyday but my breathing has become greatly improved. Before treatment I would get heavily labored breathing and cough up all manner of horrible things if I exerted myself a lot (running, working etc.). Over the last few days I've ran a little to see how much improvement there has been and I can go much further now before I start sucking wind. Before I would come close to passing out sometimes if I was forced to do a lot of running without expecting it. Like a few months back when I was forced to run over 150 yard to the scene of a car crash and then had to pull a full grown man out of the passenger side window of his truck. I coughed and threw up after that but at the time I chalked it up to being a heavy smoker.

I’ve been dealing with respiratory issues but not as bad.

For the past 6 months; whenever I would smoke weed for even a few days; I would get sick with a fever cough and sharp lung pain.

I don’t smoke cigs but I’ve smoked weed for the better part of 25 years. It’s finally caught up with me and I’ve quit weed (and all other drugs including methadone about a month ago).

I do worry about this lung damage because there is a persistent pain in one location. It’s been coming and going for years when I start or stop smoking weed…..I have to be done this time though the damage is too much now and I can’t make it worse

In the interest of harm reduction I'm going to post how I worked out my dose from the paste usually sold for horses, donkeys and other 4 legged critters. Math is not my strong suit but I triple checked this and triple checked it again along with consulting with someone that teaches math for a living. So I'm 99% sure this is correct.

When you buy ivermectin at a farm supply store it can come in several forms. The paste is probably the safest to use because it's orally dosed but you can get it as liquid for injection as well. Which you must dilute because it's highly concentrated for 1,000+ pound animals. But it's the same medicine typically given to dogs, cats, pigs, chickens and humans. I know a lot of people that run hobby farms that save a lot of money on vet bills by buying the large bottles of ivermectin and diluting doses for their smaller animals. I did not use this form because I'm scared of needles.

Anyway, back to the tubes of paste. Do not blindly use these numbers for any random tube of paste. As there are several different brands and even within the same brand there are many different kinds that come with a combination of anti-parasite drugs. Triple check the label and make sure what you're buying only has ivermectin in it. On the box it will list the weight of the contents in grams. I've seen it vary wildly between 6 and 8+ grams of paste in a tube depending on the brand and type. In my case the tube contained 6.08 grams of paste.

Next the tube will list the percentage of ivermectin in the gel. In my case it was listed as 1.87% concentration. So now we know we have 6.08 grams of material that contains 1.87% ivermectin by weight. So we do some quick math;

6.08 grams = 6,080 milligrams. 6,080 * 0.0187 = 113.696 milligrams of ivermectin per tube. Which is the standard dose for a 1250 pound horse. We are not 1250 pound horses so we need to figure out how much gel we need. The syringe comes with weight markings for smaller horses. But sadly these do not start until about a quarter of the way up the syringe around 250 pounds.

The plunger on the syringe has 28 notches spread evenly apart along with a plastic lock to lock into the notches. When you first open the syringe and take the cap off of it the gel isn't all the way to the top yet. If you slightly push the plunger down and get it even with the end of the tube you'll get your mark for even dosing. Since the notches don't start until the plunger is down this far.

We do some more math: 113.696 milligrams / 28 = 4.06 milligrams of ivermectin. We can round down and say 4mg even since thankfully ivermectin is not one of those drugs that can kill us from taking just 1mcg (or even 1mg) too much. So we now know each notch on the plunger is equal to 4mg of the drug.

From here we figure out our needed dose. I quadruple checked this in various medical journals, studies and places like pubmed. For the worms I have all sources suggested taking 200mcg per kg of body weight. I weighed myself on two different scales with my boots off. I weight just about 130 pounds or 61kg. For my weight the suggested dose comes to 12-13mg of ivermectin taken on an empty stomach at least 2 hours after or 1 hour before a meal. It should also be taken with a glass of water. A second dose (if needed) should not be taken sooner than 2 weeks after the first dose. The 2nd dose is also the same amount.

Since we know each notch on the plunger is equal to 4mg of ivermectin that comes to 3 notches because 4x3=12. But again ivermectin is a pretty safe drug so if we go slightly above the notch it isn't a huge deal as long as we don't go all the way until the next one. We don't want to underdose as with things like anti-biotics the last thing you want is to expose the worms to ivermectin in an amount too small to kill them. Since some of them will become immune and it'll become harder to eradicate the ones that are left alive. This is one of the down sides of ivermectin and related drugs. Parasites are starting to become immune to them all over the world because they're used so much to manage livestock. Everything from the chickens you eat to the horses and ponies you see at the amusement park are being dosed with this stuff at least twice yearly.

I also made some mistakes in my original post as I misrememberd how many notches I used and how many milligrams were in each push/notch on the plunger. I will correct the original post. This just proves the point I'm making in this post though. That you need to triple check and be very sure what you're taking. Don't just assume you can handle 3 notches of any random tube of gel because that's what I took. There are many different brands and they all have different concentrations of active drugs in them and all weigh different amounts. There are several that include combinations of drugs that you shouldn't be taking unless you absolutely have to. There is also the risk of taking the right drug and hurting yourself very badly because you have parasites in your liver/kidneys/brain/heart etc. Even if you have the same worms I had/have if you have a lot of them it's fairly common that when they die they end up blocking the instestines and requring emergency surgery to remove. In that case they actually prefer for them to still be alive. As it makes it easier to remove them.

If you aren't afraid of needles like I am you might be better off buying a lifetime supply of the stuff in a large glass bottle. With some quick math you can dilute it and use it for your pets and yourself. It's much cheaper than sources tablets from a vet. However, you should know what you're doing of course and calculate the proper dose after dilution for any small animal you're giving it to.

This is a rather nasty subject that I would have preferred not to talk about. But I wanted to make sure anyone with the same problem would have a good guide to go off of instead of having to search aimlessly through crap information like I did. There is so much bullshit and lies about this drug and parasites on the internet. Most of it being posted by people that don't have a clue (on both sides, the people promoting this drug are as bad as the people that claim it's useless for anything). The cold hard fact is most people probably have worms but they go unoticed in day-to-day life. I wouldn't know that I had them if I didn't get lucky and push one out. Doctors in America are not trained to look for worms or consider them for most cases preferring to drug treat symptoms instead. The tests to confirm worms are not very effective either. You can have high parasite load and spend big money on fecal smears just for them to not find anything. Also people that think they have worms are often times not taken serious by GPs and get labeled as crazy. America is not some island where parasites were erradicated. We have parasites just like the rest of the world. That's why vets and the medical industry makes money hand over fist selling medicine for dogs and cats every year. It's always assumed puppies and kittens have worms (80%+ do) for good reason. It's impossible to go through life without coming into contact with worm eggs. Even people with OCD that wash their hands 100 times a day come into contact with them. They eaisly spread from our house pets to us. They're in the soil we walk on. They're on the hands of that random guy at the resturant that cooked your meal after neglecting to wash his hands. They're on our bedding, in our carpet, on random items we touch throughout the day. Children spread them eaisly. Children get them at school then bring them home. Most infestations go unnoicted.

All that to say: You probably have them too. But bi-yearly deworming with this substance (and others) is not harmful to us most of the time. Consider it an insurance policy. It was normal for people to do that in America for generations and it's normal for most people in the rest of the world (including the so-called "developed" world). If you've been suffering from some lingering problems like I was consider deworming yourself. Just be mindful to avoid all the idiots on the internet selling "parasite clensing routines" and advocating for triple dosing yourself with this stuff daily. They're idiots and you should not listen to anything they have to say.

Yeah don't get me wrong I'm not going to win a foot race. My lungs are pretty bad too but I think the years of snorting tablets has more to do with it than smoking weed and cigarettes. I can tell the abuse is catching up with me as well but I've noticed a lot of improvement since last week. The symptoms I was having were really bad at night and in the morning. What I suspect was happening is the worms move around when we're asleep. I know pinworms are like this they come out of your butthole at night to lay their eggs. I suspect the worms I had that migrate to the lungs to be coughed back up and swallowed before going back to the instestines to breed/lay eggs operate on a similar routine. Since during the day symptoms weren't as bad after a few hours of being awake even if I hadn't taken kratom or any other drugs to mask the problem.

Weed has changed as well. This new "Government weed" is nothing like the old homegrown and mexican brick weed we had around during my youth. I can barely smoke it at all. I can't hold it down like I could with weed back in the day and even with that it gets me way too high. I smoked some homegrow about two years ago that was grown outdoors from old seed stock and it didn't choke me out like this new stuff. This new weed might as well be LSD with the effects I get from it.

But now that you've said something I have some of that killer weed in my freezer. I haven't smoked any since a few weeks ago. I'm curious now if I can smoke it without coughing so much that I throw up.

I don’t have any of your symptoms, but I kind of wanna try it just in case! I had a cat that had worms many years ago, although I prompt dewormed her days of getting her. I never needed to deworm my current cat & she seems super healthy - but I’m thinking I should just deworm her anyway because she spends so much time outside and eats rodents. I think I’ve seen it on for sale on the dark web…

How do you think you got it? From animals?

I wonder if all the black seed oil I take maybe inoculates me. That stuff is a powerful anti pathogen.

I'm pretty sure every animal we have either has worms or will get worms soon because of the climate we live in. I currently have 5 cats. All of which go outside. I'm 99% sure they all currently have worms too. I'm working on deworming them because the oldest tom cat has been showing lung symptoms like I was having for the last couple of months. But I can only put my hands on two of the cats so getting the other three to take the meds is going to be troublesome. I'll probably have to resort to sneaking it into their food or something.

How do you think you got it? From animals?

I don't know. I work with livestock and have several house cats in addition to more barn cats. I pet all of them. I'm not always that good about washing my hands unless I handle something really nasty. I bite my fingernails. Trying to break that last habit but it's hard. I've probably had every parasite and disease you can get from working outside around animals at some point. I literally wade through cow shit for half of the week and I know I sometimes track it inside on my boots.

I was also forced into living arrangements in close proximity with a bunch of nasty people for several months recently. I might have picked it up when I was in there or the one that spread it to people while there.

Worms are like ticks. Unavoidable. All you can do is try to reduce the damage after the fact. But internal parasites are even easier to overlook than ticks. No matter how many times I shower a day or look over myself after working in the fields a few ticks sneak by now and again. I don't want to even think about how many blood suckers I've pulled off my gentiles over the years. I've probably gotten every disease you can get from them over the years due to how often I get bit.

Taking black seed oil might help you avoid or kill them off. I'm not an expert with such things like the old folks. I've noticed the old people are very wise when it comes to this stuff and preventing it. People say they're crazy and stupid but I think they know their shit better than most of our generation. I knew this old lady that was on the news years ago for being the "pistol packing granny". She ran a local store/gas station most of her adult life. Several people tried to rob her over the years and she always scared them off with this massive revolver she kept under the counter. Anyway, she had a bunch of outside dogs that lived behind her store. Despite a really bad tick infestation in this area her dogs never had any on them. I know because I used to feed and pet them all of the time.

One day I asked her what she gave her dogs to keep the ticks and fleas off of them. She told me that once a month she put a bunch of garlic in their food. If you read modern veterinarian papers they'll tell you that you should absolutely under no circumstances feed garlic to dogs because it can kill them. There will be no mention about how the garlic is good for keeping ticks and other pests off of them. But she did it once a month for decades and she had the most healthy dogs I've ever seen. As always the dose makes the poison and I guess she knew from a life of experience how much she could feed them without hurting them. She claimed that garlic "heats up the blood" and "makes the blood taste bad" and that's why the ticks and fleas wouldn't bite her dogs. She's probably not scientifically correct and that's probably not the real reason. But it's hard to argue with results.

She also said instead of spraying poison to prevent ticks from infesting your yard that you're supposed to just get some chickens. Chickens eat the ticks and provide you with free eggs. The only reason she didn't keep chickens in with the dogs is because the dogs would bother them and sometimes kill them. So she just stopped keeping them in the same lot. Instead she'd alternate the animals in each lot. She'd let the chickens live there for a month or two then move the dogs back after they'd wiped out the tick population. Rinse and repeat when the ticks got bad again.

She also kept some guinea fowl in the lot most of the time because they served as nature's alarm system and would also eat the ticks. The dogs would chase them too but guinea fowl can escape into the trees and sleep in the trees at night so the dogs rarely ever had any success with killing them. Guinea fowl were very common around here back in her day but you rarely see them anymore. All the old bootleg joints had guinea fowl because they would warn you when anyone got within close proximity to the property. That's how they managed to operate those illegal bars for so many years without getting caught by the local sheriff. Everyone knew they were serving and making tax free liquor but it was impossible to get anywhere near them without the guinea fowl raising hell and alerting them in time to get rid of all of the liquor. There are still a few of them in operation to this day due to local blue laws that don't allow you to buy or sell alcohol on Sundays. Pretty good deal too. They give you a nice cup of corn liquor for $2 and most of them I've been in allow you to gamble. The state has kind of run them out of business lately with all the casinos and the lottery opening up locally but a lot of the old timers still prefer to play cards in the bootleg joints instead of driving to the casino and having to report their winnings to the state. I'm not much on alcohol myself but it is nice to stop in once in awhile and have a drink with the old folks.

Those old people are pretty wise in my experience.

Never myself been a host known, having a strong feeling i might be.
Since my daughter had em, a lot and also infected my wive.
Nice good morning story, lucky the sun shines :) sorry girls/ guys.

Bought the OTC medication for them,

But i always go deeper and learned the Pharms available kill 90 %.
At most, never 100 procent.

I was shocked to read most human s, still have unwanted guests.
Is that true ?

Plant medicine s do seem to have a broader effect 100% kill.
And most have good other effects too as anti-oxidants ao.
Pharms don t have beneficial effects and are not as good as
natural remedies. On paper !

I'm glad you fixed your problem man. This thread is kind of a departure from the topic of Harm Reduction. I don't want to disrespect others whose threads I have closed/moved for being off-topic. I also want you to be able to tell your story. We can turn this into a blog post or maybe move it over to a different sub-forum. This is more of a straightforward medical issue as opposed to being related to psychoactive substances, so it's not immediately obvious to me where it should go.

Do you have any preference @HeadphonesandLSD ? If not I'll think of somewhere and let you know where it ends up. You definitely had me hooked to the story when you described inspecting your worm-blown, impacted shit. Do I hear publisher's clamoring to turn this into a novel or perhaps a Lifetime Original movie.

Diet of Worms: One Man's Struggle for Freedom

I'm pretty sure every animal we have either has worms or will get worms soon because of the climate we live in. I currently have 5 cats. All of which go outside. I'm 99% sure they all currently have worms too. I'm working on deworming them because the oldest tom cat has been showing lung symptoms like I was having for the last couple of months. But I can only put my hands on two of the cats so getting the other three to take the meds is going to be troublesome. I'll probably have to resort to sneaking it into their food or something.

Garlic does permeate the body and has a strong smell and odour throughout so she might be right. Love these permaculture stories.

I’ve had Lyme’s from ticks multiple times - my orange cat attracts them like crazy, and she’s also not really smart enough to avoid taking infested areas. I also live in a hotspot for Lyme’s disease..

On the one hand, ivermectin has no apparent recreational value. On the other, during the early COVID era, Ivermectin was subject to a widespread "Reefer Madness"-like propaganda campaign, presumably intended to discourage use of a possible competitor to novel and expensive anti-virals which were in ongoing development by the pharma industry.

This isn't to say that ivermectin absolutely is effective against COVID. There was considerable early evidence that suggested it might help if taken early enough in the course of disease, but no large-scale blinded studies were published to confirm this efficacy. One potentially high quality study done IIRC by Univ. of MN was canceled and never reported on, despite being near completion. This cancellation may have occurred due to pressure from the pharma industry. A large part of the propaganda campaign involved funding of some very shoddy and even ethically dubious studies in which ivermectin was administered way too late in the course of disease and sometimes in very high doses which were toxic to people who were already very close to death. The results from these studies were used to bolster arguments that attempting to treat COVID with ivermectin was dangerous, even though ivermectin is, relatively speaking, a very safe drug with only a few contraindications which must be minded. Ivermectin has over a decade of human use in millions to prove this fact. For these reasons, a strong ethical case could be made for using ivermectin as a COVID intervention even if evidence of a positive effect was weak. Furthermore, many of the drugs which were "approved" for COVID were granted Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) on the basis of evidence just as shaky as that for ivermectin but obviously lacked the decade-plus safety record which ivermectin had. Paxlovid was the most effective of these novel pharmaceuticals but in large-scale studies was proven to be of very marginal benefit, especially after taking account the high frequency of rebound reactions which the media helped Pfizer minimize.

The whole affair of media censorship and propaganda regarding COVID, possible remedies, and the vaccines was a crime against humanity given how many lives have been lost or ruined by the SARS2 virus as well as harms from many unnecessary vaccinations. The debacle severely damaged trust in public health institutions which has led to an explosion of skepticism toward other (medically justified) vaccines like the MMR. It also cleared the way for special interests to further degrade public health and infection control standards, setting us back against efforts to control STIs and leaving us even less prepared for the next pandemic. Follow the $$$ience indeed! I would advise everyone to consider that science is a process of inquiry, not an authority to be obeyed.

It has been a week almost to the hour of initial dosing. I'm not going to attempt to track time or mention when I noticed any of the following. Just a general update instead. I'm simultaneously very happy and pissed about some of the following.

1) I'm no longer lactose intolerant: I can't believe it. This must mean I've had worms since I was at least very small. I'll spare you the personal history lesson and just say that I've been unable to consume milk and most milk products (excluding cheese) since I was very little. I found out by accident a few days ago. I love chocolate milk despite what it (used to) do to me every time I drank even the smallest amount of it. I used to buy pints and sip on them throughout the week. Just enough to taste it without causing me to shit my pants within an hour. Even then I'd get horrible bloating and pains from it.

I had the bright idea a couple of days ago to down a whole pint in an attempt to push things through my system a little faster. Nothing happened. I waited several hours and finally gave up on pooping and went to bed. I woke up the next day feeling fine and when I finally did go it was a run-of-the-mill poop. I tried drinking some more the next day and the same thing happened. I bought a milkshake later that night and gulped it down. No problems. I can now consume milk products like a normal person. I am pretty pissed off about this because I'd gone to many doctors in my youth and a few in my adult years who all told me the same thing; That 1/16th Indian blood is why you can't handle dairy and the best we can do if give you a pill to pop before you consume dairy.

I wasn't surprised when I did some more research and discovered that the worms I'm pretty sure I have are known to cause lactose intolerance in some people.

2) For the first time in my adult life I'm "regular": I am no longer yo-yoing between going multiple times a day with painful loose stool or being plugged up for days on end and being forced to push out concrete logs. Since last Sunday I've gone once a day everyday. It's the type of poo that's considered "normal" on the stool chart. The only unusual movements I had were on the day when I expelled pieces of half digested worms. Since then no matter what I eat even if it's garbage food my movements are normal, not painful and I'm not bloated after eating. I'm also not hungry again in an hour after a large meal. I don't have to constantly snack throughout the day anymore if I don't want to. This is a huge relief. I've never really known what it's like to be normal in this aspect. My father has been making fun of me for "always checking out the bathroom" since I was a small child. I wonder how many people with IBS and similar conditions just have worms like I did.

3) I'm thin but I'm also gaining some weight: For the first time since I was a teenager I'm not "skinny fat" anymore. No more pot belly. Several people have commented on it and want to know what I did to shed pounds so quickly. I feel like I'm starting to gain weight again too. I'm probably going to have to start watching my food intake in a few weeks if this keeps up. I've been unable to gain and keep on weight since I slimmed down around the time I started smoking as a teenager. Although I always had a "pot belly" even when I was a fat kid. I suspect I've been carrying around worms for decades now.

4) General inflammation is still gone: Joint pain is way down compared to last week still. I've cut my intake of kratom in half. I no longer feel awful most of the day and I'm no longer re-dosing it every few hours. I'm still taking it in the morning upon waking to starve off mild withdrawal (which is way less than my normal level of withdrawal). I feel like I can finally start working towards tapering off of it all together. Perhaps this time with the underlying issue finally addressed I'll be able to stay off opioids long term instead of ping-ponging between being off them for a few months and jumping back on them.

5) My "overactive immune system" is no longer "overactive": This is something else I've been to GPs for multiple times and was simply told it "runs in your family". Since my pre-teen years I've had an "overactive immune system" that "attacks its own skin" and causes rashes, dry skin under my hair and various other issues like the joint pain mentioned above. It has totally subsided. My face looks clear. I have my "glow" back. Several people have commented on it and say I look much better. I guess my immune system has been over stimulated all these years by whatever the worms have been leeching into my system to prevent it from attacking them.

6) In general I feel much better: Way more energy. Less pain. Sleeping habits have finally normalized a bit although I still need to get them un-flipped flopped (waking up around 4pm at the moment and going to bed around 9am). Life is good. Best I've felt in years.

I'm still pooping out what I suspect used to be worms. However, instead of pieces of worms now it's just regular old poop shaped like worms. I suspect I'll still be passing them for at least a few more days. I plan to take a follow up dose of 12-14mg of ivermectin next Sunday then another a month later. After that I will start taking it bi-yearly. Once in the early spring and at the end of summer or in the fall.

Also since ivermectin isn't effective for some types of worms (tapeworms mostly) I plan to take another substance for any possible tapeworms I might have sometime in the next few months. I'm not sure if I have one or not but I figure there is no harm in taking it on the off chance that I do. I'm going to keep a close eye on my weight over the coming months to see. If I don't start gaining weight as quickly as I should I'll just assume I have those as well. The drug(s) I need for tapeworms seems a little harder to get and has more side effects and possible complications. So I'm going to hold off and leave a lot of room between my last dose of ivermectin in a month and taking whatever I decide to take for tapeworms. I'll probably try consulting with a different local GP again to see if they'll give me the medicine instead of having to resort to horse deworming meds again. I'm curious to see if certain things improve on blood tests and what not after I've passed all the round worms.

One last thing: I plan to shave my beard soon to see if the white hairs stop coming back. I suspect my hair was turning white because the worms were stealing most of the vitamins I consumed. I've had low B12 for as long as I can remember and was taking B12 injections for many years to manage it. I'm curious to see if my B12 levels return to normal without taking it orally or via IM doses once a month. I haven't taken any in a couple of years and I can tell it must be running a bit low. If I can start getting the proper amount of B12 from food intake then I'll have my answer I guess.

All in all life is good. One family member was concerned enough to also take ivermectin for worms a couple of days back. I'm going to follow up with them in a few days to see how they're progressing. A close friend of mine is also interested in taking it. When he heard I was no longer lactose intolerant it peaked his interest. He's also suffering from a pot belly, weight loss, general lack of energy and only became lactose intolerant a few years back.

Diet of Worms: One Man's Struggle for Freedom

I don't care where you put it but I do prefer it wasn't a blog post because in my experience people rarely look at those and they don't garner discussion. As long as people can see and comment on it I don't care where it is. I only put it where I did originally because it's a thread about taking a substance and the effects thereof. It's very hard to find useful information about this substance on the internet. The search engines are so censored and polluted with garbage. It's probably one of the most censored topics on the internet at the moment. It took me days of trolling through alt-search engines, medical journals and seeking out information on non-http channels before I was confident enough to attempt taking this substance from the material I could source OTC. Tons of fear mongering. Just finding out the suggested dose of 200mcg pre kg and how to figure out how many milligrams where in the material was a 3-4 hour journey. That's with the advantage I had of knowing how to make google and friends spit out results it doesn't want to anymore. I doubt someone that just enters random search queries through their phone would even be able to find the information where I did. I had to use a BBS network to even get in touch with some actual doctors that I trusted. Which is sad considering we're in 2025 and that's a 1980s protocol. But they're on there for a reason; Everywhere else is very censored and it's the only way they can share information with each other without it getting taken down. Lots of good doctors on Fidonet still thankfully. Most of them still respond to personal emails too. I'm very thankful I had access to pick their brains before undertaking this self treatment plan.

I was unaware that this substance was the target of a censorship campaign when I initially started trying to research it. By the time COVID came around I was 100% checked out of MSM and social media. I haven't maintained a social media account in many years, haven't watched mainstream television in over a decade now and I don't even have a cell phone number. Wading through all that garbage was very frustrating. The left/right divide/paths and the people wrapped up in either side of them produce basically nothing of value and too much noise. I only originally posted this in the hopes that it would help someone. As I suspect many people are suffering from this condition and I'm sure most of them will not get a proper diagnosis from most GPs in the so-called western world. Most of the doctors I talked to over the BBS network practice outside of the USA/Europe and they all pretty much told me the same thing. That being infested with worms was both very common and that in their expereince their western colleagues are not trained to look for it. They also told me that most of the tests for this sort of thing are only about 50% effective even with a trained eye. They said whenever they're in doubt they just treat for worms and wait to see results. Since most of the medicines used for treatment of worms carry little risk of complications or side effects. Two of the doctors I spoke too were shocked that I've never been treated for worms even as a child. Where they practice it's a bi-yearly routine for all school aged children and adults.

But now that you've said something I have some of that killer weed in my freezer. I haven't smoked any since a few weeks ago. I'm curious now if I can smoke it without coughing so much that I throw up.
Came back to update about this. I smoked some weed out of a clean pipe for the first time in months. It has been in my freezer since the middle of last year sealed in a jar and double bagged. It still seems as fresh as the day it was given to me and I really trust the source it came from. It's most likely imported from a legal state or came through the mail. The person that gives it to me gets pretty consistent weed and it's the kind that always gives me that almost-instant-panic-attack type of high. The kind that might as well be LSD and chokes me out really badly. I've always found it nearly impossible to hold down it's always almost as bad as those homemade dabs my deceased friend loved to do that burn your lungs in places you didn't even know you had.

Anyway, I smoked a bit and noticed it doesn't choke me out nearly as badly as it did before. It's still choker weed but at least it's bearable now. It didn't feel like the smoke was running into a brick wall halfway down my windpipe. I coughed like usual but I wasn't coughing up tons of mucus and I didn't feel like I was on the verge of hurling like I usually do. I can probably go back to smoking socially again I guess. I'd been avoiding that for the last few years because weed was making me gag and cough so much. Which is saying a lot considering in my youth blunts were still popular and we used to smoke 10+ a day sometimes. I'm curious if I can handle smoking a blunt again now. Since I had to give those up several years ago due to them being worse for me with coughing than papers and glass bowls.

I might even break out the bong I retired years ago and give it a try again if I build my tolerance back up. I took three hits off a bowl and I was almost too high. It's good stuff. I just wish it wasn't LSDweed. I don't know why no one produces the good old couch lock indica stuff anymore that was smooth going down. Maybe they do produce it and no one bothers to import it to illegal states anymore. When I lived in another state I bought weed from a guy that kept something similar (a hybrid I guess) in stock and I always bought it instead of the other 3 or 4 strains he kept on hand. I'm pretty sure he was just keeping it in stock for me because he regularly gave me deals on it and said no one else liked it.

At any rate I'm pretty convinced my lung symptoms improving isn't placebo. It's nice to be able to breath again and sleep through the night without waking up feeling like I'm going to drown in my own mucus. My nose isn't running like it was before either. Before I was getting a bad drain when I slept (I sleep on my back) and my nose would run for at least a couple of hours every morning. Now my eyes water a bit from mild withdrawal and my nose is a little runny. But it's nothing like before. I guess my body has been trying to let me know for years that I was infested with worms and I was too ignorant to understand what it was trying to tell me.

Hey @HeadphonesandLSD I'm talking with some other people about how we're going to handle your thread. It seems like you really just want to talk about your life and your struggles. That's great. I'm not patronizing you here. There is a lot of value in recounting our past experiences. I don't think people journal enough in this world.

You described your approach here as being based in the "I took a drug and these were the effects produced". I can totally understand why you would think this is appropriate. At Bluelight, we discuss "psychoactive" substances. In a very broad sense, you could call anything you put into your body "psychoactive" as a Paracetamol might relieve your headache, produce a mild euphoria in the process and in effect, change how you feel psychologically.

However, the substances we discuss here are purely drugs that are taken typically with the stated goal being an immediate, targeted change in a person's emotional/psychological and to a lesser extent, physical state. The drug that you are describing here does not really fit that bill. Also, if you want to talk about Cannabis, we have a dedicated sub-forum for that with people who would love to shoot the shit.

I'm going to move this temporarily, but we are open to your suggestions regarding where it goes more permanently. Let me know if you've got any questions buddy.

I'm glad you're feeling better but I have to ask, and sorry if I've missed something obvious, but why go to the trouble of pretending to own a horse and repurposing farm supplies instead of just hitting a pharmacy and asking for a box of mebendazole which comes in fruity flavours and is pre dosed for humans? It isn't expensive and you don't need a prescription.

Edit: do excuse me I did miss something obvious you need a prescription for mebendazol in the US! That's a silly hoop to have to jump through for such a simple problem.

I know someone who orders ivermectin capsules online and gets them shipped from India although I don't know how much it costs them.

So I want to just say something about this slightly odd thread topic. You're right, we definitely do usually focus on psychoactives here and when this thread popped up it felt so out of place I had to read it.

I was definitely surprised and while it is fairly abnormal to read about this experience here I still think its valuable, maybe somewhere in health and recovery?

Just a personal example of the values: I have a friend from a tropical region and they've been experiencing some relatively minor symptoms that were similar to those listed here. Definitely not as extreme of a situation but reading this got me thinking about parasites and I spoke with them about it and they now plan to get evaluated. Not saying they're gonna hop on ivermectin without a doc but this put the idea of parasites out there, which we truly don't normally consider in the US
