It's October 22, 2024.
I lost my pain management doctor to the New England Opioid Task Force. They've made an example of her. She was one of the first advocates for those with addiction and had even been given awards by governors etc.

Anyway, none of the doctors in Maine would take any new pain patients let alone my doctor's patients.

This tossed me to the streets. Everything was fine for the first few years. Then H disappeared altogether. I already has a very high tolerance to Rx Fent so when it became just that I didn't have any issues.

However, this past summer I came across Fent with Xylazine

My blood pressure dropped so low I fainted. Then another time I was driving and crashed my car.

Now there is this stuff going around Northern New England that seems to have some sort of virus or bacteria contamination.

When snorted or placed on the tongue it almost immediately causes large amounts of mucus/snot! It makes you feel like you have the flu too! It's absolutely horrific!

I'm right on the edge of WD & suffering severely with flu like symptoms. No idea what's actually in this shit.

I may be going to Quick Care soon but really don't want the lable added to my medical records. Anything "normal" costs way too much.

Anyone else come across cr*p like this?

Not an opioid user regularly but I was living in a really rough part of Maine when this same dope came around. I initially suspected there was a covid outbreak in the tent cities, wouldn't be anything new. Turns out "flu dope" was taking off bc it had killed a few people, so all of a sudden everybody wanted it. I had people offering me "flu spice" and "flu ice" as well, claiming that "flu _____" meant something was so good that it'd make you sick. I lack an endogenous immune system though, so the pitch didn't land well for me.

I started masking when on the streets again for a little bit, and I noticed that only opioid users actually seemed ill, and that opioid users who also used meth seemed fine for some reason. I suspect that this is just some peculiar side effect of a cut, or a xylazine alternative. Xylazine lacks the more robust networks of trade that have allowed drugs like fentanyl to spread the way it has, and it's going to be tricky to meaningfully redirect it. Not only is that tricky, but at my weight, to begin feeling it I'd need an amount that would look like numerous pinches of salt, making it less desireable to smuggle that something with similar action like Clonidine.

This shit hitting the streets coincided with actual fentanyl disappearing by the way, all of the opioids this was contaminating are nitazenes, in this area at least.

No, fent users specifically seek out fent with xylazine in it because it reduces OD risk and creates even MORE sedation. It also burns lesions into your skin as a side effect though, leaving you looking like a fucking CoD zombie, which sucks. Xylazine and Clonidine/Propranolol have somewhat similar feelings. It's pretty heavy on the east coast from Baltimore to Portland (Maine), and it's easy to get because it's rarely if ever abused and is super prevalently needed in monstrous amounts for vetrinary medicine. These people don't want H, they want "fetty". "those good popcorn tasting blue fetties that smoke just right", it's not people who still believe they're actually getting heroin.

I'm in the northeast myself. I grew up in Jersey but live in PA now. I got hooked on the tranq in 2020 from going to Philly and within a few months I had developed a perforation in my septum that goes down into my voicebox. I was blowing out huge chunks of necrotic flesh out of my nose. Methadone and Xanax was able to get me off. I'm now on Suboxone but still like to to dabble now and again. At this point in time I will not touch a stamp or glassine bag because no matter the source it is always xylazine. I can only get real H through a connection occasionally and it is 200 a gram. This stuff is just so awful. My girlfriend recently had to have a major dental extraction due to this shit and they wouldn't even give her a Motrin script. To help her I tried to get something off the street, inevitably ended up being mostly xylazine and thus useless. I'm quite mad at having wasted the money and the person I deal with assured me it wasnt going to be like that. Honestly if you are in the northeast don't even try to get anything on the streets. Stock up on test strips for fentanyl and xylazine and especially narcan! Sometimes these are given out at harm reduction and local events. I have loads of them and I won't touch anything that pops for either. I have no desire to die or develop more necrosis. The state of the whole thing is terrible. It's been 3 years since I've quit and my nose is still irritated, although at this point it's more of an annoyance. I've been doing this stuff for 15 years and never overdosed before the last 2 years where it's happened countless times, even while on suboxone. It is just not worth it and the high is shit.

Has anyone ever healed from internal xylazine wounds? I just got ahold of xylazine test strips the day before yesterday and my stimulant was positive for xylazine, and I've only been using about 2 to 3 months but I'm 99% certain it all had xylazine in it. I've missed many times and I've had pain and swelling and sharp pains growing in size not at the injection sights but on the same limb, or in the back of my neck, in that shoulder and that upper back. I'm very scared.

I went to jail first time ever in 2022. God saved my life my arms my extremities. I got off the needle. I have videos and photos of my wounds and my black holes. I went in before the general hospitals knew what it was but a documentary on YouTube from vice gave me the insight and I went to the er twice and admitted myself just to get hardcore antibiotics ran through me (all while still using) and then got arrested even the COs talked shit to me said I don’t know how to be a junkie etc. well 210 day stint and even at the 6 month mark I had an internal wound pop and force itself out from under my skin one way or another. I’m so thankful lol. Fuck xylazine!!!!

I still get high but I only smoke it

You’ll find that after a while, especially with methadone, you can actually get high on it but function in life, not go broke and not go to jail over it. So much less stress than what you’re doing now.

I've been in the methadone program for 3 months on a relatively high dose (thanks to xylazine) and have not once gotten high from it.
There is the not worrying about ODing or getting in trouble or spending tons of money. And you won't be sick or have uncontrollable cravings. In my experience you will still have some cravings and the methadone will not get you high. I wish I could. But in my opinion anything is better than something with xylazine in it

There is the not worrying about ODing or getting in trouble or spending tons of money. And you won't be sick or have uncontrollable cravings. In my experience you will still have some cravings and the methadone will not get you high. I wish I could. But in my opinion anything is better than something with xylazine in it

If you’re going to a clinic it will be hard to get high since they keep your tolerance maxed out and don’t allow you access when tolerance is low

I have a prescription so I can take 5 mg a day then one day choose to take 50 mg and I definitely get high from going from 5 mg to 50 mg
Overnight.

It was a short time period but if the story is true, it’s crazy. And honestly, I’ve never known anyone to have used it, but there is the MPTP issue that had some chilling effects on addicts. I think it was just him and his junkie circle so it wasn’t that big a threat; although I’m sure the media at the time made everyone e think different. To understand how this could happen you have to understand what academic science researchers like grad students and post docs (grad students that got their PhD but still can’t get a real job so they work at the schools for dirt pay on projects licensed by multibillion dollar corporations so these corporations don’t need to hire actual PhDs and pay them as such.) Grad students can be quite reckless and quite delusional is to their skillset. They are young and full of bravado.

As we’ve seen recently from a certain new member that showed up at BL and expected everyone to worship his religious like views on psychs, just because he’s in academics - then left with his tail between his legs after being humiliated for his obvious mental problems and realization that his PhD or masters endeavor combined m with 7 page longm paragraph less dissertations on why you were wrong about something as subjective as psychology and psychedelics, was going to win over a bunch of followers or even mutual respect. It didn’t work out quite like that. Im still taking some enjoyment in it which is kinda pathetic but it was fun to see one of these guys get hosed on BL because I see them eat shit sandwiches so much in real lofe when I was younger until they were totally extinct from the employment pool; but seeing it bappen here was nice too and just kinda validated why I always assumed people like that never succeed.

So basically the grad student made MPTP (or a thermodynamic precursor to it, I forgot exactly) which was a known synthetic byproduct in the paper he was following to synthesize it. It wasn’t known how toxic it was; but he was too lazy to purify out a compound that would’ve taken an afternoon to remove from his demoral synth (or he was making an analogue of meperidine that wasn’t dangerous but also produced the dangerous mptp or related compound. But he was likely more interested in getting off and showing his friends how cool he was for being a chemist that like drugs (like our recently departed genius at BL that was too smart to subject himself to the doctors, scientists, and informed addicts with half a century of use under their belts.)

So off he went without purifying out this deadly synthetic byproduct from his dirty demoral-esque synthesis. Groups of ppl in his drug circle were then brain damaged and paralyzed/died or whatever from using his tainted product.

If I recall correctly he failed to heat it enough to decarboxylate a demoral analogue that needs decarboxylation to destroy its deadliness. (Or was it that heating it to cook it decarboxyated the problematic compound into mpep?) something like that. Anyways, Heating something enough is pretty basic shit but I digress because I don’t remember the whole story

Even some backwoods cartel chemists would’ve at least tested their product on animals or a junkie tester first, but this genius decided him and his friends would be the tester. Addiction erases all sense of caution and thinking slowly but I don’t think it was the case if a knowledgeable person making a mistake, it was just a kid way in over his head.

It was just a small group of addicts so nobody gave a shit. Nobody gives a shit when large groups of addicts suffer and die so this was no different

All of this is true, and, what it makes me think about is how all drug users (particularly those using illicit, synthetic substances, are at the receiving end of a chain of custody that has little in the way of quality control. Whether it's MPTP from a grad student, sharing with his circle, or it's 3-MMC that's actually been cut with 3-CMC in an attempt to offload a potentially toxic substance while avoiding total profit loss, there is a lack of quality assurance that is endemic to the game. Users of harder drugs (more compulsive use/regular consistent use) are vulnerable to this. I recall getting some weird Ketamine in the early 2010s. It smelled funny and hit me in a way that seemed off. The problem with ketamine is that the whole experience was about seeming off, and if I worried about the effects, it could have just been paranoia from the drug, which was a desired effect. In the end, I might never know if what I was snorting was actual ketamine or some RC analogue.

I wanted to open a thread specifically to start conversation about Tranq Dope, as it has changed the landscape of the overdose epidemic and has rocketed it into a whole other plane of destruction. Not only will it kill you through overdose, but using it IV/IM will cause horrible side effects like scabs, sores, I mean it very literally eats your flesh away. Even using it nasally for a prolonged period will cause a lot of skin irritation eventually.

This is the next war in Harm Reduction. This stuff is killing generations and turning entire cities into Night of the Living Dead. I'm not exaggerating. It is an animal anesthetic. Not intended for human consumption at all.

But what can we do about it? Well first off, we should compile some information about the basics, and then next we need to look into harm reduction techniques and tactics. Figure out how to determine whether your drugs are contaminated with Xylazine. How to isolate it. These are things beyond my present knowledge, but my plan is to update this post with more information the more that we learn about the stuff. Please lend any knowledge or insight you have to this thread and help get the word out to the people that need it.

I've seen the sores first hand. These are the worst injection side effects I have ever seen, and I wasted years of my life injecting cocaine and methamphetamine. I'm talking about massive, permanent scars from a slight miss. Necrotic flesh that hardens over. It's fucked up. If you're a heroin user and this happens to you, please check into the ER as fast as you can.

I am blessed that I was able to get off of heroin a couple years ago, with only a one off relapse, but it was devastating and I woke up in the ICU. And I had a massive tolerance at the time. Last year, I lost the love of my life to an overdose. It destroyed me and I went into a year long downward spiral until I finally got sober from everything, it took weeks of detox. This shit out there is no longer heroin, it's not a joke and it's not playing. The Shrine is filled with beautiful humans gone too soon from this beast. I say all that to say, I don't want to see anymore friends or loved ones die. It hurts too much. I will always make myself available to support anyone here that needs help or just someone to talk to. Damn man I feel the pain in this post. I’m currently in work release from prison, finishing up 3 years in Florida and I’ve lost more people and loved ones than I care to count. The prison method if you’re not familiar with this brand of stupidity) but I’m in a city plagued with fentanyl. It’s even here at the facility I’m at and if it wasn’t for having a couple years away from it I’m sure I would be banging that shit all day n night all over again. But I digress… your question about xylazine isn’t exactly new to me because I used to travel to Kensington Ave (we all know where that is) for cheaper and stronger dope. That search took 2 beautiful people away from me. Knowing what I know now, our tolerances were pretty much suicidal high, yet she didn’t wake up from half of the 5 dollar fucking bag she was found with in her car. I say half because the other half was still on the center console. I believe it was the first wave of that xylazine shit getting into the dope on the east coast. And since I was locked up this time atleast 10 super tolerance fentanyl users have somehow overdosed. One from smoking a single hit off a foil… needless to say that shouldn’t be happening. If it isn’t pure carfentanil or furanyl fent I have to assume it’s this tranq shit infiltrating every dope boys bag. From what I looked up, xylazine doesn’t melt until 136-139 degrees Celsius. Fentanyl melts at 72 degrees Celsius. Now I’m not saying smoking it is any safer because it isn’t, however I have a theory that if you’re not able to physically test your dope for other chemicals, potentially melting a small amount on foil may identify the intruder. Fentanyl will melt first, and if you got shit still on your foil you need to leave that shit alone. Withdrawal while locked up is one of the more unpleasant things one can go through. I'm glad you're getting through it, and making progress in your life. Be proud of that

I could be wrong but cyst’s are caused by something else, abscesses are caused from shooting up… correct ?

I thought it was originally an abscess but I didn't inject there .

It's right over a place I have scarring from xyzlazine though so I guess i might have just read it could be caused possibly by bacteria idk man but what my point is don't use shit that has zylazine in it you'll regret it my
