I've been coming across to this "trend" and quoted it as 7m not even sure what to call it. They are making street drugs almost inaccessible or so poor in quality to kill you... but on the other side they making all these lethal extracts that have passed no human trails or shit and is just as addictive as the old skool street meds and obviously kicking there potency out the water it seems.

Maybe it's just me. But all these new extracts of some alkaloids from a legal plant giving you pure opium effects and if not stronger. So the government can't capitalize on the street drugs, so why not get vendors to sell them legally and it's all natural cause it's plant based and this bullshit.

when I see this scene Play out I'm so happy im in S.A. but fuck atleast we still have real H and if you say the word fentanyl you get looked at like wtf is that. Even the Coke is off high quality and the chemically synthesized Khat is top notch and the Meth has ppl tweaking like th 2000's but here we have no interfering vendors or headshop. Plus the once we have cannabis store are only allowed to sell food and cannibis based only drugs. Not even alcohol is allowed to be sold in the smoke shops.


So yeah this is just an international thing I have notice and just hope it never ends up on our shores. no offense meant in any way.

I'd argue that street drugs at least a decade back or longer in the US were just dealers buying from either other dealers, or from online vendors, then moving things in the street from there. There's been a growth in social aversion among younger people, as well as a decrease in drug use, and I suspect they're related. Most younger people (Less than 30 years old) I know in the US will only use psychedelics, stimulants, and cannabis, and even then many won't touch stimulants outside of caffeine or coca tea. There's a huge amount of chemophobia present due to fentanyl contamination too, which sucks because it's leading a ton of people to die like Steve Jobs did via anti-intellectual/anti-medical stances.

The density of drugs goes up as a result of the war on drugs, they're easier to smuggle and then peoples' tolerances go up and it becomes the new norm sadly. Many of the best drugs (mescaline, opium, etc.) require large doses as far as weight goes to get to the expected effects, but thankfully they can also be extracted and grown easily in most circumstances.

I was talking to a child psychologist from a major California city. She’s a friend of my wife.

She said the amount of high school kids on all kinds of drugs is staggering. Psychedelics and RCs are the most popular but she said a lot of them are on meth and yes even fentanyl.

It's been 8-9 years since I was in HS but I was personally a huge fan of hydromorphone, oxycodone, whatever mixed benzos came around, amphetamine (plus pressed Addies that undoubtedly contained methamphetamine), cannabis edibles often in unbelievable dosages, and some psychedelics were around in my dry ass town but not many. Psilocybin containing mushrooms, DXM, and salvia were always around, and I tried the latter two but didn't enjoy them much at the time, and I didn't try the fungi until I was ~22. LSD, MXE, N-benzylated phenethylamines, Ketamine and 2C-B made rounds thanks to RC marketplaces at the time, but I avoided them all as I was suspicious I had a schizotypal disorder at that age. God and I hate heroin, it feels like garbage to vomit uncontrollably for hours while trying to kill everybody around you because you don't know where you are, who these strange people are, or what they want from you.

There were some fake oxy pressies that definitely had hyperpotent RCs in them, as well as one time I ran into a bar pressed with opioids. It's possible some of these were fent, some may have been U47700, I'm not really sure. The RC benzos I was running into were probably running the gamut from flubrotizolam to clonazolam, but none of us ever cared. Those with lower capacities to body potent drugs died, those with higher capacities survived, I'm one of the latter group obviously. Growing up using drugs in the US is pretty heartbreaking, watching lives crumble and people die literally in front of your own eyes is a painful yet incredibly formative process.

The only real major change here from when I was younger is the fact that pharmaceuticals have all but vanished. They're still around maybe 3 days out of the month but half the time they're fake presses. They also cost 10x or 20x more than they did back when I was using. It's simply too expensive now to get high from oxycodone tablets assuming they're even real when you do find them. I haven't seen my beloved Oxymorphone in over 12 years now either. Even benzos became hard to come by at some point despite being overly prescribed here and basically worthless.

What I noticed happening locally before the big crack down on pills at the federal level was the fact that the old crack/cocaine dealers moved in on the pill trade around the late 2000s. They were losing a lot of money to customers getting high on "legal" substances. So what they did was start going around and figuring out who was getting drugs prescribed and selling them. They would offer them a flat rate for the entire bottle. After say 6 months of doing that they'd managed to control the entire local supply. We also had people driving from several states away back then to buy pills cheaper here than back in their home state (usually WV). They were willing to pay double sometimes triple for a bottle than the locals were. All of this drove up the prices and dried up the supply.

It wasn't long after that when heroin started to appear on the local streets. Something that hadn't been around since the late 70s when the local Government cracked down on it hard. At first it was real heroin (although stepped on hard) but it wasn't long after that the dealers started cutting it with fent. Around this same time pretty much everyone that had been getting pills from doctors in the area got cut off or forced into pain management with regular piss testing. It was also around this time that RCs started to appear on the local streets. People much younger than me attending local parties knew what things like 25i and MXE was. They were being openly shared around too and sold under their actual names or sometimes "liquid LSD". Of course, a small segment of the population was always aware of these kinds of substances but I noticed a big explosion in new comers looking for things like MDMA, K, LSD, Shrooms and things like 2C-B.

It was also around this time that weed changed over from the mexican brick weed that had been a mainstay for decades over to "high test" (local slang) being imported from legal states.

I could yammer on but let's get down to brass tacks, what changed?

For all the talk about drug cartels in America there is one cartel to rule them all: The CIA and related drug enforcement agencies like the DEA. Along with the very rich families that make up the pharma industry. What I suspect happened with opioids is pretty simple. With the war winding down in the middle east a large supply of raw material was cut off. They needed a new source and needed to get the addicts they'd created willing to change to a different substance. Fent. and its analogs are much more potent by weight meaning they get far more profit on each shipment by weight. They needed some good PR to keep the tax money funding coming in as well. So they declared a "war" on opioids that came in pill form and switched over to shipping in fent. from China instead of shipping in opium to be converted into H, oxy, hydro and all the others. An addict will also take something like fent. far more often due to the fact that effects do not last as long and the effects they get from the substance aren't as nice (less euphoria). It was a win-win for everyone that is into this business for the money instead of the experience.

Around this same time we see drugs that hadn't been around in quantity popping up again. MDMA is suddenly easy to get again but many people said it wasn't the same as the MDMA of old. LSD is around again. K is suddenly everywhere. This is probably just a combination of new labs popping up and people shipping it in to take advantage of the new popularity. It's all suddenly in vogue as well with even the large tech companies promoting micro-dosing to increase productivity. Famous people are openly admitting to taking it and promoting it on podcasts and on TV. Supply is suddenly abundant instead of being non-existent (when I was in high school LSD was near impossible to get no matter how much money you offered someone). The "cartel" also suddenly had plenty of room on their airplanes because they didn't need to ship as much opioids to meet the demand. The people that take MDMA, LSD and friends don't have a lot of overlap with junkies. Again a win-win; They opened up a new market and they're still able to supply the two others they've been supplying for years (cocaine and heroin).

Of course there are small players as well. Many aspiring dealers figured out how easy it is to ship in chemicals from overseas and pass them off as something else. But these people are really small times. The explosion of new substances can only be coming from the usual cartel(s). Who do you think supplies the darknet markets anyway? There aren't many people in the world with the money to set-up a lab to make weight and with the ability to source what you need to operate one without getting on the radar.

In other words: It's a big scam as its always been. Well as it has been since the early 1800s anyway. I neglected to talk about weed but we saw similar shifts in the market place at the exact same time.

I suspect we will continue to see an influx of these kinds of substances until they're replaced with the next big thing. Which will most like be BCIs (brain computer interface) at which point the old ways of taking substances will become fully obsolete. You no longer require a substance when you can program the brain directly to release those feel good chemicals.

Street drugs are a drop in the bucket anyway. The profits made from them are nothing compared to the profits being made from pharmacueticals and things like insulin every year. But the difference is the profits from the street market don't have to be reported and you aren't paying taxes on them. That money is being funneled into all sorts of off the book projects. But I'll spare you the novel about them now. If you knew what they were spending all that money on you'd get very angry and most of the time people won't believe they're happening anyway no matter how much proof you show them. I'll give you a hint though: That "mineshaft gap" mentioned in a certain famous movie wasn't just a joke.

Don't be sad that the days of cheap tablets are over. Be happy you got to live through them at all.

I got them from a pharmacy from 78-82, Rorer or Lemon 714's. I think now SA is where it is trending though. It was taken off the market in the US because they produce euphoria and the puritanical powers that be said we can't have that. One lude and I would be stumbling around in 15 minutes. When Roche valium replaced it we tried like hell to get high from them (as young kids) . But what happened was people were taking 10 blues and taking shots of liquor to try and match what the barbs and methaqualone did and never did. And they were saying benzos were not addictive. It was nice to take one red (seconal) and stumble around a bit. However more than one or with alcohol was dangerous I agree. But still. An overdose of nicotine can kill you too.

The convenient store down the street from me sells everything. But he scaled back on the kratom extracts as he claimed some of the younger people called it bunk. Like it worked a few times and then the poor store owner was dealing with unsatisfied youths. He said all kinds of THC bud sell better. Must be a tolerance thing and it seems the extracts can get expensive. He took down his neon kratom sign but kept the CBD sign.

But why is khat not available in the US? I l always wanted to grow a plant. I am not a stimulant guy but a natural one that is not coffee or ephedra would be nice. Ephedra is pure anxiety for me. I bet khat feels better.

The street "dope" issue in the US is beyond silly. However I do not know the state of it. I have heard people here post that once people get fent they don't want heroin. Even though heroin can still be around. But I have no idea on the status. Thank God poppies are a nice flower.

From 1998-2004 my neighbor who was in a motorcycle accident got 90 20 mg oxycontins a month. He also got neurontin that collected dust. lol (wonder what he would think today but he has passed). My friend loved NYC street dope better than the oxy's and would just give me like 15-20 each prescription. I was never addicted to oxycontin. At that time I was just using them on occasion as I had just given up a poppy tea habit of a few years. I always like morphine better. Oxy gave a quick tolerance. MS Contin were stealthier to me.
