Luke 5:1-11

Now it happened that He was standing one day by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the crowd pressing round Him listening to the word of God,
when He caught sight of two boats at the water's edge. The fishermen had got out of them and were washing their nets.
He got into Simon Peter's boat , and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Then He sat down and taught the crowds from the boat.
When He had finished speaking He said to Simon, 'Put out into deep water and pay out your nets for a catch.'
Simon replied, 'Master, we worked hard all night long and caught nothing, but if you say so, I will pay out the nets.'
And when they had done this they netted such a huge number of fish that their nets began to tear,
so they signaled to their companions in the other boat to come and help them; when these came, they filled both boats to sinking point.
When Simon Peter saw this he fell at the knees of Jesus saying, 'Leave me, Lord; I am a sinful man.'
For he and all his companions were completely awestruck at the catch they had made;
so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were Simon's partners. But Jesus said to Simon, 'Do not be afraid; from now on it is people you will be catching.'
Then, bringing their boats back to land they left everything and followed him.

Luke 6:17 6:20-26

He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon,

Looking at his disciples, he said:“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who hunger, for you will be satisfied.
Blessed are you who weep, for you will laugh.

Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man.
Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.

But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort.
Woe to you who are well fed, for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

Acts chapter 2 verse 2

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place.
And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Ephesians 2:8-9. Mew Living Translation
God saved you by his grace when you believed, and you can't take credit for it, it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so that no-one may boast.

Luke 6:27-38

But I say this to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly.
To anyone who slaps you on one cheek, present the other cheek as well; to anyone who takes your cloak from you, do not refuse your tunic.
Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask for your property back from someone who takes it.
Treat others as you would like people to treat you.
If you love those who love you, what credit can you expect? Even sinners love those who love them.
And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit can you expect? For even sinners do that much.
And if you lend to those from whom you hope to get money back, what credit can you expect? Even sinners lend to sinners to get back the same amount.
Instead, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend without any hope of return. You will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.
Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap; because the standard you use will be the standard used for you.'

Titus 3:4-5
But when God our saviour revealed his kindness and love. He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the holy spirit.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious over anything, but in everything, through prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.

Romans 7:22-25. New living translation
I love God's law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind, this power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. O what a miserable person that I am. Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death. Thank God, the answer is in Jesus Christ our lord. So you see how it is, in my mind I really want to obey God's law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin.

1 Corinthians 15:20-28
But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, he is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life. But there is an order to this resurrection, Christ was raised as the first of the harvest, then all who belong to Christ will be raised when he comes back. After that the end will come, when he will turn the kingdom over to God the father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. And the last enemy to be destroyed is death, for the scriptures say, God has put all things under his authority. Of course when it says all things are under his authority, that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority. Then when all things are under his authority, the son will put himself under God's authority, so that God who gave his son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.

Acts 24:14-15
But this I confess to you, that according to the way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers. Believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets. I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.

" Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. "

-- James 5:16

" This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. "

-- Psalm 119:50

Matthew 7:12
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

Isaiah 48:17-18
This is what YHWH says, your repurchaser, the holy one of Israel. I, YHWH , am your God, the one teaching you to benefit yourself, the one guiding you in the way you should walk. If only you would pay attention to my commandments, then your peace would become just like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Sirach 27:4-7

When a sieve is shaken, the refuse remains; so a man’s filth remains in his thoughts.
The kiln tests the potter’s vessels; so the test of a man is in his reasoning.
The fruit discloses the cultivation of a tree; so the expression of a thought discloses the cultivation of a man’s mind.
Do not praise a man before you hear him reason; for this is the test of men.

Galations 6:7-8
Do not be misled, God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap. Because the one sowing with a view to the flesh will reap corruption from his flesh. But the one sowing with a view to the spirit will reap everlasting life from the spirit.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our inner most thoughts and desires.

Jeremiah 31:35-36
It is YHWH who provides the sun to light the day, and the moon and stars to light the night, and who stirs the sea into roaring waves, his name is YHWH of heaven's armies and this is what he says. I am as likely to reject my people Israel as I am to abolish the laws of nature.
