Gabapentinoids How many days in between taking my gabbys do I have to wait to get the euphoric effect and why doesn't it work every day?

Ok so I got prescribed gabapentin about a week ago. The first day I took like 1800mg and an hour or 2 later I was floating. The next day I took around 2400mg and was flying again although maybe not as much as the first day. Than I take a full days break n then took around 3700mg and felt absolutely nothing. Why is that? It's not like I was taking them for soo long n grew this huge tolerance to them. I only did them twice before the failed attempt. I'm looking for that euphoric floating feeling. How long do I have to wait for them to be somewhat effective again?

Gabapentin tolerance builds crazy fast. You’ll have to take longer breaks. How long will depend on you but I would try maybe three days between doses. And definitely keep the dose as low as you can.

Yes it does and that's when taking it as prescribed

Abusing the script like OP may actually cause a semi permanent tolerance

And it's even worse with pregabalin. I was able to handle a 10 gram dose. I just got moderate anxiety relief for about 8 hours.

Thanks for letting me know about pregabalin. I’m taking 50 mg every six hours for tooth pain. Hopefully it won’t be for more than a week.

IS gabapentin euphoric? It just made me fall over. Pregabalin is somewhat better and a wonderful treatment for alcohol dependence but like gabapentin, tolerance grows so fast.

Gabapentinoids to me are like THC on steroids. The tolerance goes down almost fully in just a few days. However I never took it daily, at most two days between and it always worked. These days I hit it 2-3 times a month at about 1500-1800 mgs.

I fund it euphoric. It is subtle. One has to tune into the effects like thc. A lot of people don't get high their first smoke until they pay attention. I mean pregabalin at a high dose is too much for me. I can take it at 300 mgs. The subtle doses are more euphoric if I pay attention.

I can say gabapentin at such light use has been a God send to me. But I understand and have read people can do crazy amounts. I never go above 2100 these days. I know there is a post here that someone took 36 grams and had temp kidney issues.

Most people I know that take gabapentin are not on BL and have no idea on effects or withdrawal. It is strange.

I was very angry when I read how gabapentin and pregabalin got their discoverers a Nobel prize. They very carefully designed all of the publically accessible animal studies in a way that avoided detection of potential dependence and addiction issues. They were LAUNCHED as having no such potentials.

That part pisses me off. We all know the medical field is full of ignorance and BS. It is because of BL that I decided to not take my gabapentin daily. (Miss Diz helped if I remember correctly) So I played it smart, and used stretches for leg pain. The stuff used sparingly can be useful as a utility drug. But there is also an aunt I have who swears by it on her nerve pain so who knows. She says no effects and no withdrawal on her 2400 mgs a day. Saying that she is on about 4 other meds too lol.

That is why sites like BL can help learn. All kinds of people are on meds. Years ago neurontin was given to most people I knew who were prescribed oxycontins. One friend was in a motorcycle accident and was prescribed both. Back then neurontin (gabapentin) was pretty much was a throw away and it is strange to see it is a valid class of drugs these days. No one cared about their neurontin.

Yes - I was briefly prescribed one then the other for severe chronic pain. But I need to use crutches to walk so a medication that affects balance was an insanely bad plan from the outset.

I think someone I know has dozens of boxes of gabapentin but I'm not about to beg or buy someone else's medication. MAYBE on top of oxycodone it WOULD provide better pain control - but to what benefit if I can't walk without falling over?

For me to avoid quick tolerance breaks I never use them longer then 3 days and then a week or more off. This way everything it hits me hard and the same. I ran the same protocol with Pregabalin or less never have taken pregabalin longer then 2 days, then break. This is for recreational purposes alone for me.

But if you taking it as prescribed for whatever reason intended the feeling " high" goes away but doesn't mean it's not working or doing its job. And also leads too addiction when used constantly and over a long time. And heard wds being almost heavier the opiod wd but I can't vouch on that part as I have never had exp wds from gabapentinoids cause of my way of usage.

Ya I haven't used it 2 days in a row since that first day. I just took a 3 day break n just took 3000mg but will take another break after that. Hopefully it works. But ya I do find gabapentin as some type of euphoric. I also take 1mg Klonopin twice a day idk if that potentiates it or not but will update later if the gabbys worked or not today.

Docs where I am still refuse to believe they build dependency and they're barely less willing to throw thousands at you than they were when I first started swimming in them
