Opioids High blood pressure after acute methadone withdrawal?

Anyone experienced high blood pressure after methadone withdrawal?

I’m two weeks out from stopping. Not in severe withdrawal, but I’ve had sustained high blood pressure (137/77). Gonna see my doctor about it but you guys often know more than the doctors so I wanted to ask.

I’ve experienced high blood pressure while on methadone during a several month period of severe pain and stress so it’s not a totally new thing.
 
Have you tried clonidine it keeps my blood pressure good and could help in other areas. Diarrhea, opiod withdrawal and other stuff. You probably knew this; however it keeps my blood pressure down, usually.
 
I think doctors really exaggerate about hypertension, especially in men. Also, can you be sure that anxiety isn’t making your blood pressure go up when you test it?

I know so many healthy men with blood pressure numbers like yours and they’re fine. I think it’s all an excuse to put people on meds that don’t even work. It does seem like high blood pressure is more common in men and likewise low blood pressure is more common in women. I think it’s just aging probably, and not super related to drug use. Without other symptoms, I don’t think it’s concerning. Can you exercise? Do you feel pain anywhere? If you feel fine except for some numbers, I wouldn’t put too much stock in that.

The only thing I notice that made me start checking my BP was feeling and hearing my heart beat really hard when I’m trying to sleep. The pulse rate is still normal.

But no discomfort or anything right? I occasionally notice that too when I’m trying to sleep, especially if I’m suffering from insomnia. I’m sure you’re still in a sensitised state from coming off methadone.

No discomfort other than the standard PAWS stuff. Yes I’m definitely highly sensitized to everything right now.
