Kratom Kratom Shakiness and Physical Anxiety?

Hi,

I have been a user of kratom everyday for the past 4 years at around 10 or 20 grams per day. I've found my tolerance is at the point where when I take it, I either don't feel anything or I feel some degree of physical anxiety; there is a threshold that I end up either above or below which determines how it goes for the day. I know it is time to stop, but I don't want to do that right now.

I am more curious if anyone knows what is happening when high dose kratom causes physical anxiety, especially the shakiness that I experience. It seems unique from amphetamine induced anxiety; kratom causes shakiness and restlessness, while amphetamine would give me that butterflies in stomach and cold hands and feet feeling. This leads me to wonder if the kratom effect is not due to imbalanced norepinephrine, but instead something else. My other theory is that it is histamine related because during WD diphenhydramine causes horrible RLS and generally just intensifies every bad feeling. The thought process is that WD is like an internal anti-histamine so the DPH synergizes with that effect, which implies the active effect of kratom is somewhat pro-histamine. But again, I don't know, I'm just talking out of my ass.

The solution to avoid the anxiety is to take less, which I have been good at doing lately, but I want to know if anyone has other remedies or a better explanation of what's going on. I have tried magnesium glycinate and I also take fish oil, although unrelated, and I can't say I've noticed much of reduction, it might be there but it is not obvious. Another observation about this anxiety is that even if I have a small amount of kratom in my system (like I took 1/4 my regular dose and it is 6 hours later) I don't constantly feel the anxiety, but if something happens that would normally make me slightly nervous, my body's response is very extreme. Like I'll be completely chill and not under the influence of kratom at all, but then once I have to speak in front of people, for example, I shake like I have a hang over from a 4 day alcohol binge (although I wouldn't know first hand, I don't drink like that). That is the biggest problem, it is difficult and embarrassing to speak to people when you've got the shakes.

Thank you all.

Sorry, dude. I'm not familiar with whatever you're talking about. I've been taking kratom daily for about 4 years, averaging 25 grams a day total.
When I was first getting used to it I sometimes took too much and would get "the wobblies," something most kratom users know about. Just dizziness, vertigo, and maybe slight nausea. I wouldn't describe it as anxiety. The feeling generally passes in 20 or 30 minutes.
I don't know what's going on with you.

(edit) PS-- I know exactly what it's like to have anxiety and the shakes. I drank alcoholically for several decades. I had to have a drink first thing in the morning or I couldn't function. I've never experienced anything remotely similar to that with kratom.

I think your body is trying to tell you something about your kratom use..I know that when I knew I was physically addicted to opioids: and then switching to kratom..., was no walk in the park. Sure it helps alot but kratom comes with it's own bullshit symptoms which sound directly the same to yours. Even if I was on a proper dose to get out of withdrawal, after a few hours I would be a shaking mess with a bit of RLS and mild hot n cold(if any) but that stimulated feeling alongside the kratom buzz(if any stimulation at all) forced me to always seek benzos just to fucking relax and feel fucking normal.

I strongly think it is the kratom. You have to keep taking more or you feel like shit. It's never ending And the legs aren't that long. I would definitely try knocking down your tolerance. After some breaks and possibly lower dosing, you should be able to enjoy your kratom.

Wow. I am going through this right now. I used kratom to get off of methadone and it definitely helped with the worst parts. But it has been about 3 weeks and I am experiencing the shaking, hot/cold and stimulated feeling all the time. I can’t tell what is still withdrawal and what is Kratom. I’ve been tapering the Kratom and I honestly can’t tell if it’s making it better or worse or both. One night I tried to CT with the Kratom and it was awful so don’t know what to do from here. If there’s any experience you can share, I’d appreciate it. I do not intend to stay on Kratom and am not enjoying it, but am having a really hard time figuring out what to do right now. Thank you.

Well just take a couple grams less or work your way down, maintain, and try to find a sweet spot. Balance/moderation is key for everything and I know what you mean when you say not knowing what is wd and what is kratom..I'm telling you now it is indeed the kratom.( I guess methadone probably still getting out/over) but I always found that eventually I had to say the hell with THIS TOO! Eventually you will. I used to compulsively dose the powder toss n wash and yeah just thinking about it makes me a bit shaky. Sort of like the tail end of Adderall, just not feeling right in my own skin, jaw hurting, and over all just feel malnourished.

Eventually I caved and relapsed on something or benzos because when on kratom I never would really shit solid, just plugs me up for a few hours then all that green shit wants out/causes most of my physical symptoms which I believe all come from the gut for the most part. Just becomes like gut rot after a bit ya know? I'm no saint bro and will end up on kratom again eventually and it will do it's part, but in the end, at least for my body, I cannot forever sustain on it.

Playing around with strains helps a bit. Weed/edibles is a better way to spend your evening if looking to chill. Keeping up with addiction sucks and looks likd you are almost free! you're doing damn good! Keep it up you got this!!! It's still wayyy early for you in my opinion..I'm sure your mind and body are fighting PAWS so I probably wouldn't blame everything on kratom, bc it is helping although it's still an opioid in it's own right.

Kratom has a built in anti-abuse system, specifically Mitragynine. Taking too much Kratom powder will leave you with no so pleasant effects such as dizziness, nausea, shakiness and restlessness, commonly known as the Kratom "wobbles". It sounds like you've reached a plateau where you're not feeling the effects anymore but taking more is hitting the ceiling where the negative effects start to begin. A tolerance break would definitely be a good idea. Interestingly, 7-OH doesn't seem to have the negative side effects that regular Mitragynine does when you take too much. I've never gotten any wobbles even from 200-250mg of 7-OH. I'd recommend to stay away from 7-OH though as tolerance builds insanely fast and the withdrawals are brutal. Not to mention it will burn a hole in your bank account real fast.
