There was a fantastic all night showcase at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall with over 3000 in attendance for the clubs 21st Anniversary....

(see here...)

...but this is at the venue that hosted the core weekly / bi weekly (A) Club (Called) Quest and being part of the Amar House complex who's various multi purpose licensed entertainment spaces included the ground level twin nightspots firstly, Pablo's Wine and Cocktail Bar (Classy).

The concrete box next door, Picasso's Night Club, which could accommodate on the flagship Saturday upfront house / techno centric high street venture - "Pimp @ Picasso's" by the promoters behind Quest) - over 500 people due to the guests ability to enter through Pablo's and freely move between the huge wine bar, perfect for use as a second music room and Picasso's via internal doors installed specifically to allow guests to move back and forth when open. (I said it was class an I meant it).

The first floor was the location of the third licensed going interest within the complex. Designed with a large floor space, The Paloma Banqueting suite was conceived as a bespoke function room able to accommodate wedding parties from the Indian and South Asian diasporas, having the potential to seat hundreds. However, while the ground floor venues were going to be used as the primary nightlife attractions an agreement was made to use Paloma's for Quests Hardcore driven club night as the suite could be licensed to accommodate 1000 standing guests, with Pimp also using the huge room for their monthly 'Pimp Specials' instead of their regular home downstairs @ Picasso's. However, none of the 3 premises could ever get a licence to provide musical entertainment passed the 2am standard club issue for the bar. With doors opening at 8pm however, Quest was one of he few clubs to provide 6 hours worth of showcase race DJ's almost ever week..

here is some Wolverhampton style circa 1991.... at Quest @ The Paloma Banqueting Suit...

Rap, Mickey Finn, Jumping Jack Frost, Bryan Gee - uk jungle legends 100%. what a sound when it first crawled out of the urban underground eh. Unique.

Birmingham though, could never vibe with the gaff somehow. Went to Atomic Jam (1996-ish) at the Que Club though and had a blast, but I think that had more to do with the 2 immense Pink Cally's I had (sp?)) Great fkin venue though iirc. Also had a splendid time at a few 'Blues' parties (free dub reggae sessions) in Handsworth in the late 80's, used to go when visiting a mate in Acocks Green

How come that when something is running 'like a bag of shit', it's all glitchy, laggy, and slow, but when anything is like 'shit off a shovel' it describes something very fast?:confused:
It's all about context!

'Shit off a shovel" came from steamtrain drivers needing a shit so they used a shovel and liked to dispose of said shit as quickly as possible into the furnace, so I was told by my uncle years ago who worked on railway all his life anyway, unless the ol'd fucker was winding us up as usual anyway

EDIT - wonder why things can be "shit-hot" though?

Lol I thought I was functioning pretty normal in the bar but then I was finally asked "why are you so unconditional?" "well no shit I have personality disorder" :shruggies:

Things have been going all south repeatedly and it is more than 50 % my fault and it is something that can be fixed and I am going to utilize healthy coping mechanisms (besides of some drugs ofc) to deal with the rest of the week (it is monday now). It is refreshing to deal with these kind of issues, instead of fascism, neoliberalism and climate change.

I just need to take deep breath. :smokeyrobinson:

>I got flat tire.
>I patched the inner tube.
>I inflated the tube too early as it was really difficult patch in the first place because the tube was so small and patches were so large and the patch did not hold so I ended up with mess that probably can not be fixed anymore ever.
>I bought new inner tube.
>I inflated it and went to ride.
>Inner tube got flat because there was really small glass shard in the outer tube which caused the first flat and I did not just find it after first flat no matter how hard I searched for it.
>I patched new inner tube and paired it with new outer tube.
>I inflated patched new tube but forgot to push the valve upwards properly so the outer tube did not fit properly and inner tube started to bulge between outer tube and rim and blew up on 4 bar.
>I have no more vulcanizing agent, so nothing can be patched either.

Imma gonna just take my MTB and go out for ride even tho rear brake should probably be bleeded which I can not do now and gears need some adjustment which I can do.

And what is also furiating is that I waited patiently for my nail paints to dry and then I started to do these mechanic things and of course it revealed they hadn't properly stabilized as of yet and now my nails are complete mess. Yes, it is also my own fault, but I am infuriated, which makes it infuriating.

But isn't that everybody. Call down when possible. You're just doing
too much. But thanks so much.

I totally fucked it up.

I bought second new inner tire along with vulcanizing glue.

I pumped it up and it got flat. I thought it was because rim tape had suffered and revealed sharp edges in the rim. I patched tires like a maniac, put more rim tape and tried again-found out I could not get the tire on rim, tire lever broke. I suddenly realized that the first hole in second new inner tube maybe was not because of rim, but because the new outer tube I was using is so stiff that I had to use too much force with the tire levers-I disassembled everything and YES the inner tube was riddled with new holes!

I tried to set the tire tubeless with sealant on gas station air pump but it did not work out. But my pants did tore up.

Imma gonna go sleeping in a minute.

Thanks, kiely.
